  1. NFL Record 23 penalties against the Raiders today, as of now.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 30, 2016 -> 01:34 PM) You answered my question by quickly mentioning Trump. People hate Trump so they vote for Hillary. Makes sense ... not. There's a simple solution. Write in your favorite write-in. In my case Jesse Ventura. To vote for Hillary is to vote for 2 years of impeachment bulls***. Because of people like you who insist its important to remain uneducated and spend your days telling us how important it is that Rush Limbaugh said something.
  3. Frank just had a spectacular moment on the postgame. Rose and the other two guys came out and said "I think the Cubs are in a good place right now, they've got their aces going tomorrow and in game 6 and then they're set up to take this to game 7". Frank's turn comes up and he just says f*** this the Cubs are in trouble, they need to go win a game tomorrow, they're desperate and their backs are to the wall, it's all hands on deck.
  4. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 08:55 PM) One thing to note. The attendance for tonights game was said to be at around 21,000 which is a very impresssive number. It seems the Bulls are leading the league in attendance in this short 2017 season so far. Also, from 2009 : http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/bullstopnbaa...nce_091028.html Bulls lead in attendance in past decade (this was when the Bulls were terrible). That is quite interesting to me, how good the Bulls attendance has been. The UC has the largest capacity in the league and they never really stopped selling out IIRC.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 10:29 PM) Not sure he was ready after 2011. That one season with ESPN seemed to really revitalize him and rekindle his love of managing. It's a darn shame we don't have any precedent of guys within our organization who were managers that were hired for 1 year and then replaced when a much more experienced manager came available that would be a relevant point of comparison.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 10:07 PM) Assuming you pitch Bauer tomorrow, and Lester pitches well, there is a good chance you don't need Miller again until Tuesday evening. If the Indians have a lead in the 7th inning tomorrow, its one inning. Go win the world series.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 09:16 PM) She sure has spent a lot of the time on the rich, banks, and Wall Street. That hasn't stopped her from taking their money. And I'm sure you're about to tell us how bad it is to support candidates who receive lots of money from Wall Street, right?
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) I like Contreras as a catcher. I wonder if Theo gives Hahn a call about our pitchers if he wants Contreras in a deal. I think the Cubs are better off at this point just sticking with the guys they have. I wouldn't give up anyone in the bigs for one of the Sox pitchers even if I lost this series.
  9. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 03:00 PM) Its a shame that Americans who are going to vote probably still won't take this as an opportunity to look closer at Johnson, Stein, and McMullin beyond the 1 or 2 videos/articles out there to discredit them. Yeah, the closer you look at those the worse they look.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 11:18 AM) Cubs got to Kershaw the 2nd time(on 3 days rest), not saying it's gonna happen but it certainly wouldn't shock me if the same thing happens with Kluber. I think it's particularly helpful that Kluber threw a start on 3 days rest earlier this postseason so it's not something new to him. The rest and throwing schedule is off with a big long rest after the ALCS followed by short rest, but he already knows a bit of what to expect.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 02:17 PM) You are going to lose your bet taking the Tribe. Cubs big tonight. Nothing would make me more confident at putting money on the Indians tonight than you chiming in to post this.
  12. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 29, 2016 -> 10:21 AM) No way, voter fraud is impossible to catch When blah people do it they're camouflaged. You can't see them so you can't let them vote.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 10:53 PM) The best news of this game is Miller will be able to go again tomorrow with under 20 pitches. Still can't believe Shaw got through 1 2/3 without a run given up. Just gives you an idea of how goof the Indians are to do this without Brantley, Santana and Carrasco. That would be like the Sox without Eaton, Quintana and Rodon still going 9-2 against 3 of the top 5-6 teams in baseball. This is why you build a strong organization, you don't try to patch holes and pretend everything will work. Sigh.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 10:48 PM) I think my favorite part so far is the nyt editorial board crying and blaming Clinton for their overreaction to the initial reports. I cannot have a favorite part for 10 more days. That's like laughing at the Cubs because they're down 2-1.
  15. QUOTE (aryzner @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) This was a game I was sure the Indians were going to lose coming into it. This was a game the Cubs were supposed to win. This was a game the Cubs needed to win. They lose this and now they're staring Kluber in the face tomorrow. They could win the final 3, but with Miller out in that pen all Cleveland needs to do is get a lead in one of those 3 and the Cubs have to beat the best in the game. The Cubs now have to beat Kluber tomorrow. It's that simple. They lost a game they should win, now they have to win a game where they're outgunned. (Fist pump)
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 07:24 PM) It's pretty messed up that Comey injected himself into the election less than two weeks before election day with a bunch of innuendo but zero substance and without even contacting Clinton first. There's a strong case to be made that he had zero choice but to do so given his testimony in the summer - new information appeared that made a portion of that statement incorrect. But allowing the case to have been tried publicly by innuendo over a full year+ remains the unprecedented part, this just follows that logic.
  17. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 06:43 PM) f*** this I'm going to recruit some armed colored folks and take over some federal property today... wish me luck Group of us geologists are after Crater lake. I think we're all white and a couple of them have beards.
  18. If Hillary Clinton were the villain that she is characterized as by certain posters and a substantial portion of the Republican base/representatives, Anthony Weiner would have had some sort of accident long ago.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 02:22 PM) If they go for it, and bring in a real OF to replace him, there is no space for him with actual back up OFs like Tilson and Liriano on the team. But again, the deadline for a team to offer arbitration is typically early December - last year it was December 2, prior to the winter meetings. If the rule stays the same, the White Sox could offer him arbitration, keep him in the organization, sign someone to help in the OF after the early december arb offer deadline, bring him through ST with the team, and then if no one gets hurt and he doesn't make the big league roster, cutting him would only cost $25k, assuming that clause remains in the CBA.
  20. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 28, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) That's pretty much exclusively what it's been used for. The federal charges were weapons charges for having their guns on federal property and larger, more complicated conspiracy charges. The feds didn't have jurisdiction for trespassing, property damage, theft etc. as those are all state-level crimes. I'm really hoping that the state isn't scared off by this verdict and comes after them hard with all of the state-level charges. What kind of jury would they have to get at the state level? A jury of local residents, half of whom might have leaned towards supporting them when it went down?
  21. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 05:24 PM) I would say Avi has a much higher than a small chance at being non-tendered. I would say 80%. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) It depends. If they go for it, probably. If they don't, there isn't much of a reason to not bring him back. Barring changes in the CBA to disallow it, I see no reason why he won't be on the Viciedo track - offer him arbitration but with only a small $25k charge if he is cut at the end of spring training so as to keep the contract non-guaranteed.
  22. Here is data on early voting turnout in North Carolina in 2016. I'll bet you can guess which set of counties on this graph has larger African American populations and therefore as a total coincidence fewer early voting stops than before the Voting Rights Act pre clearance was gutted. But no, the party in charge in that state totally wants everyone to feel welcome there regardless of how they look and that party nationally is welcoming of everyone in that same way.
  23. Bulls sign 2015 first round pick/28th overall R.J. Hunter to a 1 year deal after he was released from the Celtics due to a roster crunch.
