  1. Poorly fashioned cane, you truly are good to us. Better than we deserve. We ask that you continue to allow us to score runs. Your greatness is the force that drives us.
  2. Poorly fashioned cane, thank you again for the run. Please see it in your infinite wisdom to allow us more of these runs.
  3. Poorly fashioned cane, thank you for breaking up the no-hitter. Would it be too much to ask for a run?
  4. All hail the poorly fashioned cane.
  5. Poorly fashioned cane, I humbly ask you to prevent this no-hitter. I'm not asking for much. I don't have high expectations. I'm not asking you to bring us to victory, or even to score a run. Just break this no-no up.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) Not sure what's more annoying, Hawk whining about umps or people in this thread whining about our team. *reaches the boiling point and throws laptop across room....then takes laptop and pours gasoline all over it, lighting it on fire....urinates on the ashes* You can use my poorly fashioned cane to take out some frustration, if you'd like.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:58 PM) With over 100 pitches was it necessary to have Jon start this inning? Yeah, without starting this inning, Garland wouldn't have that extra earned run scored on him that is guaranteed to be scored against Riske.
  8. QUOTE(champ @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) Damon scored the first run... And what the hell does that have to do with anything? That the Yankees caught the breaks and scored 3 runs last inning? Any team can do that. That's what the Tigers have lived on this year. Hate to break it to ya, but Tigers>everyone this year. They're not just catching some magical breaks. And the fact that you still think they are lucky in mid-August is sad.
  9. The Yankees have their foot on our throat, and they're finishing the job.
  10. Are people still saying the Abreu trade won't help the Yankees that much? Oh, and this inning has sucked all of the momentum out of the team that they gained last night. More and more, I'm starting to believe this team is like every other Sox team pre-2005. We just keep waiting for that magical spark to send us on that definitive streak, and it never comes or they never capitalize on said spark.
  11. Cue that music from Sonic the Hedgehog when you die.
  12. We must walk or give up more hits to guys with 0-2 or 1-2 counts than any team in baseball.
  13. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) Randy's thrown 58 That's not good. HR for Melky Cabrera. You know, it's kind of funny. The Yankees are supposed to have no depth because of their gigantic payroll, but they lost two OF's and hardly lost a step. If even one of our OF's went down, we'd be absolutely screwed. Also, the Yankees really have an idea of what they're doing with the bats. You'd think the Yankees would be the HR-or-nothing team, but that's us.
  14. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) Phillies right? Didn't he get his record hit with them? I think he was also on the Expos?
  15. Someone get the memo out: Randy Johnson is not the 10-K-a-game pitcher he once was. He's actually pretty damn bad.
  16. I always forget that Pete Rose played for anyone but the Reds.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:03 PM) Man is Dye slow out there. He's truly on his way to becoming a big liability out there.
  18. QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) Offense does look week....next time around though. Johnson doesn't throw that hard anymore. BA looks like he's swingin' for the fences too much lately also. I was very angry at him last night in the 10th. Proctor threw a wild pitch on his first pitch to him, and then BA swung right through 3 straight pitches.
  19. We're...uh...we're not good at building on momentum. How many times this year have we said, "that win is going to spark the team," or something like that?
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) You bring the cane milkman? The cane is in the right hands. I'm not at liberty to say anything else.
