  1. The Yankees have their foot on our throat, and they're finishing the job.
  2. We may actually get no-hit.
  3. Are people still saying the Abreu trade won't help the Yankees that much? Oh, and this inning has sucked all of the momentum out of the team that they gained last night. More and more, I'm starting to believe this team is like every other Sox team pre-2005. We just keep waiting for that magical spark to send us on that definitive streak, and it never comes or they never capitalize on said spark.
  4. Cue that music from Sonic the Hedgehog when you die.
  5. We must walk or give up more hits to guys with 0-2 or 1-2 counts than any team in baseball.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) Randy's thrown 58 That's not good. HR for Melky Cabrera. You know, it's kind of funny. The Yankees are supposed to have no depth because of their gigantic payroll, but they lost two OF's and hardly lost a step. If even one of our OF's went down, we'd be absolutely screwed. Also, the Yankees really have an idea of what they're doing with the bats. You'd think the Yankees would be the HR-or-nothing team, but that's us.
  7. RJ's pitch count?
  8. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) Phillies right? Didn't he get his record hit with them? I think he was also on the Expos?
  9. Someone get the memo out: Randy Johnson is not the 10-K-a-game pitcher he once was. He's actually pretty damn bad.
  10. I always forget that Pete Rose played for anyone but the Reds.
  11. I f***ing love Jon's chaneup.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:03 PM) Man is Dye slow out there. He's truly on his way to becoming a big liability out there.
  13. QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) Offense does look week....next time around though. Johnson doesn't throw that hard anymore. BA looks like he's swingin' for the fences too much lately also. I was very angry at him last night in the 10th. Proctor threw a wild pitch on his first pitch to him, and then BA swung right through 3 straight pitches.
  14. We're...uh...we're not good at building on momentum. How many times this year have we said, "that win is going to spark the team," or something like that?
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) You bring the cane milkman? The cane is in the right hands. I'm not at liberty to say anything else.
  16. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) I'm sure Mrs. LoDuca has had 3some thoughts before. She worked for Playboy afterall. Doesnt hurt to ask! The fact that she was in Playboy makes me think she really doesn't care how many barely legal girls her husband is nailing on the side, as long as she still gets to spend his money.
  17. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) I said "starting to" Besides its seems he and his poorly fashioned cane already happened upon Liriano... the rest of the gang of "Cy" quality pitchers better start growing eyes in the back of their head. The poorly fashioned cane will save our season. Mark my words. Go ahead, mark 'em....
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) "I'm tired of people saying there's time," Pierzynski said. "There's not time. You got to go out and do it." This is the best quote I've seen out of the White Sox organization all season And it's really not surprising who it came from.
  19. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) That doesn't make them good moves. Krivsky's trades are the playing cards tucked under the soles of the Reds' shoes in the NL's tallest midget contest. I never said they were good moves. I said they might be good enough to get them into the playoffs.
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) Yeah, and it's not like they needed Kearns anyways, what with the Hollandsworth acquisition and all. The Reds would have been lucky to keep pace with the Indians if they were in the AL central. The NL is a horses*** league And that's why some of these moves might actually get them into the postseason.
  21. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) Good work Milkman. I don't have the heart to drop Perfect, though. If anyone's interested, the poorly fashioned cane is all theirs.
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) LOL You'll have to come up with an avatar of a poorly fashioned cane. Alright, I did a little research. These are the best I could find:
  23. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) LOL You'll have to come up with an avatar of a poorly fashioned cane. CURT IS GOING NOWHERE!!!! That's right, purple. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) You forgot a lot of other pitchers too But yea, you got my drift I figured 6 was enough to prove the point.
  24. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:29 PM) No, no he's not. It's not even close. People (including myself) were complaining about him because he had a 7.11 ERA in April, 5.40 in May, and 4.50 in June, even though he is being paid a ridiculous amount of money (which I still think is way too much for him). He has a 4.99 ERA on the year, along with a 1.40 WHIP, and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentance as "Cy Young". Unless the sentence is: Pitchers like Jon Garland don't win the Cy Young. or possibly: Jon Garland came into custody of the Cy Young after bashing Francisco Liriano, Johan Santana, Jonathon Papelbon, Roy Halladay, Justin Verlander, and B.J. Ryan in the head with a poorly fashioned cane.
  25. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) I didn't realize he only had three losses... how is it possible that people were calling him Judy and the walking tampon in game threads a couple months ago...? This kid is starting to look like a contender for the AL cy young. His ERA might get in the way of that.
