**Water-Cooler Thread (TV stuff)**
That was one of those shows where I started off liking it, but was later just waiting for it to end.

I’m all about hating on the Patriots, but are we trying to take a victory lap over them (and their QB) going deeper into the playoffs?

Hate the Patriots. And absolutely.

Sports writers are the worst. They try to make themselves bigger than the game.

I didn’t mean it to be disparaging in any way. It’s just that it’s always brought up as an argument against his overall career. The conversation usually goes something like this: Milk: Andrew Jones was the best defensive CF I’ve ever seen. Old Timer: He was a dog. I remember when Bobby Cox pulled him out of that game. Milk: He was like 18! He went on to having an amazing career. ::quotes stats to no avail:: OT: He was lazy.

I think, at best, I’ll have the Super Bowl on mute in the background. Don’t think I’ll be going out for it or paying much attention to it.

Hell of a game. Nobody I talked to thought they had a chance, but they were obviously within striking distance with less than a minute to play. That line is nuts.

And if you had told Johnson that they’d hold the Rams to 17 through four quarters, he probably takes that fucking field goal. But it was a hell of a season. And I don’t think anyone’s beating Seattle.

That Nix injury unfortunately makes a Patriots Super Bowl appearance almost guaranteed. I’m strangely optimistic about the Bears today, but seeing what Seattle did, I fear that’s where any luck will end.

Yeah, that’s gonna be an uphill battle for you guys. Good luck.

Wow. That’s unexpected. Figured they were giving him the reins to build up his own team.

Feels like bizarro world with the Bears being confident going forward with their offense, and it’s the defense that needs major work 😆

And a couple years before that, as well. Seems pretty easy for them.

Well s%*#, this round of the playoffs went pretty much as well as it could’ve. And the only team left that has won a national title before is Miami.

Yes, I felt somewhat optimistic even after losing because they proved they can also stand and trade punches in a high scoring game. But man, Williams always seems to leave something to be desired. He’s good enough, but a “generational talent” should make that last throw. I don’t think he’s ever going to be as good as he should be, mainly due to the hype he came into the league with.

Does anyone else feel it’s a huge win that they only gave up two sacks to Myles Garrett? I’m actually serious. Given the blowout nature of the game, I could easily have envisioned more sacks, especially BS ones.

2024 Celebrity Death Thread
Reiner was underrated as an actor and directed some of my favorite movies of all time. These kinds of things are shocking as you kind of picture those types of problems not really existing in wealthy/Hollywood families. It’s similar to how I felt after Gene Hackman’s death. EDIT: And I didn’t even realize he directed Stand By Me.

It’s like watching a bad call occasionally cost the Chiefs (or formerly the Patriots) a game. Everyone believes it was a bad call, it’s just that nobody cares.

Been saying exactly that. Taking their ball and going home. Such crybaby fans, and apparently the school as well. Teams get screwed every year in a way that benefits Notre Dame, but the one time it happens back to them, it’s an unheard of tragedy. I’m loving it.

Wow. Indiana pulled it off. But now, they gotta do it again in the playoffs.
