Please define "insult" for me and please point out occurrences of them. Sorry if I'm frank with people when it comes to things, but it just annoys me when people defy common sense when trying to present a case. My attitude doesn't make my arguments any less valid.
-
Carlos is one manly looking son of a b**** while Beckham has more of the "typical" young look. Carlos FTW. Wow, I feel so gay after saying that... DAMN YOU, OP!
-
So by Ozzie going with a worse player, that means the worse player "beat out" Anderson? Meaning earned it? So the manager's decision is always the correct one and always signifies a player's worth? Again, I wonder where in the world your logic comes from.
-
What I was saying is that many people were adamant about Danks not being ready. The point is, if "analysis" was always correct, we'd always know who would win and who would be good/bad, wouldn't we? It's just common sense. Ultimatey, analysis, predictions, assumptions, etc. aren't worth a damn. Couldn't beat out DeWayne Wise? WTF are you talking about? He's a FAR superior fielder and Wise can't get on base either. How is that a valid argument???
-
I don't think I even need to explain MY logic to a guy who brings up "losing his job" to Wise as an argument as to why Anderson will never be a good hitter. And I could be wrong here (not that it matters), but wasn't Crede basically the same before he broke out?
-
Whoa, whoa! Where did I ever use the term "All-Star hitter?" And man, if everyone here was always correct with their "analysis," BMac would be pitching for us (well, I might add), Floyd would have been released on waivers by the Sox a WHILE ago, Danks wouldn't have pitched last year (well, anyway), and OH so many more examples. So forgive me for not thinking your analysis is ultimately worth a damn.

Yeah, I'm serious. It's amazing that in a long, thought out paragraph there really was nothing to argue to actual point, just a wall of text disguised as insight. BA has been mismanaged like hell. Not to say he's been solid or he would have been, but BA was NOT "given every opportunity," and Wise is an even WORSE player, so PLEASE stop with the "he lost his job to Wise" BS because I laughed so hard at that statement. He "lost his job" to a worse player and THAT'S grounds for making a childish assumption that BA will never be a good hitter? Where did you learn logic from?
-
Um, again... that isn't true.
-
His numbers back up a statement simply claiming as FACT that he will "never" be a good hitter? Some people are so hung up on statistics that they forget common sense.
-
Your well thought out insight can be negated by a simple fact of life: things can change. I stopped right there because that's simply not true.
-
Amazing how so many people love to make assumptions. That all this post is.
-
LOL

That sentence makes me laugh SO HARD because that's a WAY better job for BA. Of course, it's not like I'm saying anything nobody knows already...

Winning is obviously the goal and that's happening, but I love how no one seems to ever mention how terrible this division has been for almost 2 years now. Sure, winning is the only thing that matters, but winning a very s***ty division in 08, in my mind, is not much of a counter point to Ozzie's clusterf*** in-game managing. I would even go as far as to argue that without it, we could have possibly won that division EASILY and not had to go down to the final 3 games for a miracle (although the players themselves were just as much to blame for that).
-
Totally agreed, it f***ing disgusts me... but there's nothing we can do about it.
-
I get what you're saying, but COME ON, man! Every season I watch it seems to get worse. Last year seeing Justin Morneau pitched to with 2 outs and first base open with a narrow lead had me rolling. Seeing Linebrink serve up 4 runs to the Cubs was just f***ing retarded.
-
Ah! Changing the subject! What other managers could/would have done has NOTHING to do with Ozzie. I don't give a DAMN who else would have led us to 2005's WC title, much less even THOUGHT about it because it has NOTHING to do with the subject! Thanks for proving my point further. I stand corrected.
-
Yeah, like I'm the only guy who complains. Did you happen to notice that the thread is on the SUBJECT of Ozzie's mismanaging? Thanks for the inept reply. You have have all the credit for a win you want (and I do give credibility when it's due), but it doesn't change the fact he does some really inexcusably stupid things, and as I keep saying, no excuse or pathetic argument an Ozzie defender will make ("He's not the only one who makes mistakes," your excuse, etc.) changes that. It really amazes me to no end that with all the supposed intelligent fans on this board, I have yet to see someone make a point that disproves what I'm saying. But I'm not getting into this again. Not worth it.
-
Yes, and no one will ever convince me otherwise after that s***job "managing" he did in that game vs the Cubs we gave away. But... I have EYES. It didn't take me NEAR that long to realize Ozzie is an idiot.

Throwing out the first pitch at the All-Star game wearing a Sox jacket. Awesome. And for me, a guy originally from St. Louis (a huge Cardinals fan), seeing this in St. Louis while Pujols is the guy to catch the ball... it's even more awesome. What's cooler than the President being a Sox fan?

Dude, that is some FUN TV. I always watch it. I was working and missed it this time, though. Anyone got lineups?

It's usually wasted. There's no voice on a forum. People who are "sarcastic" on an internet forum should really find some way of making it look obvious. How about using green text? -

Ridiculous overreactions; the reason I love Soxtalk so much. -
That is if he stays healthy.
