  1. QUOTE(zach23 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 08:34 AM) At my local Jewel I counted 12 Sox balloons displayed and only 8 for the Cubs. --- All of this clearly proves that playing with polls and numbers is complete bulls*** and can be easily twisted to make whatever point anyone chooses to make. QUOTE(zach23 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) I have no idea if the balloons were for sale or if they were just for decoration. So, the number of cute little balloons proves nothing with regards to anti-Sox bias, other than that the Cubs may have sold more (to suburban ass-clowns). You're right...twisting numbers to prove your point is easy!
  2. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 11:21 PM) we face them at full strength. This ends up hurting us. Hilarious... :sleep
  3. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) On another note... What was with all the fights tonight? It seemed like Half Price Monday. It was absolutely pathetic; I felt embarrassed. Come on, you know they were all Cleveland fans...
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) For my money, the leader at the gate has to be James Thome. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) Oh yeah yeah, good point. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) For my money, the leader at the gate has to be James Thome. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) Sure, but he's not a Yankee! Even better point
  5. QUOTE(zach23 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 08:34 AM) "Sportsrise" on Comcast Sports Net Chicago spent 4 minutes and 45 seconds on Sox highlights and interviews while only spending 3 minutes and 15 seconds on the Cubs. WGN news at 9PM spent 1 minute and 35 seconds on the Sox while only spending 1 minute and 5 seconds on the Cubs. I don't care! There was still Cubs bias - they were talking faster during those 65 seconds!!! - Hangar Jr. QUOTE(zach23 @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 08:34 AM) At my local Jewel I counted 12 Sox balloons displayed and only 8 for the Cubs. Umm, were those strictly display balloons, or sale items?
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) What would you call Orlando Cabrera? Royce Clayton? Joe Valentin? Daryl Ward? Cub killers.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) Right now he has 10 BB and he's walked twice in the past week. lol, I knew I could count on you!
  8. QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) If you ever see the Tom Emanski commercial again, look for the scene where all the kids a lined up in a row hitting off tees and swing in unison. The kid at the very back nails the entire tee out of the picture and it's funny as hell. Right??? That is a great f***in' catch, 3E8!!!
  9. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 12:41 PM) And the fans were pissed when Alou was let go. They weren't pissed when Alou was let go. They were pissed that he wasn't replaced. I agree it's waaayyy too early to judge Corey...new league, less pressure. His BB to K ratio is what needs to be watched...just last week, I believe, he was still at 5BB's, which eventually would lead back to the Corey of old.
  10. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) I am so f***ing embarrassed. At least they didn't have to face a tough team like the D-Rays.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:46 PM) The pussification of America. LOL
  12. QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:41 PM) When come in as an underdog, you have to deal with the fact the opponent knows it, , and when you are the favorite, you usually lose games you would win any other time. Every year I hate we had to play them. SFF what kind of garbage is that??
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) Who the f*** cares about the standings on May 21st? Perspective. Did Jaques Jones hit the HR that broke up a no-no last year? Who was that...Garcia?
  14. QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 21, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) I love the heiney bird I am scared right now scared of what? the heiney bird?
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 21, 2006 -> 01:06 AM) We won't score many tomorrow, but as we've seen, we won't need many either. Sox 4 Cubs 2 LOCK IT! lol. to this point, LOCKED.
  16. Yahoo Sports, "Rating the rivalries" This Jeff Passan guy rates the Yankees-Mets and Gnats-A's rivalries with 5 stars, just 4 for the Sox-Cubs...... Please...there is no rivalry in NY...it's not possible, especially for Yankees fans... The Gnats-A's is hotter than that, yet still, all the Gnats real (team) history is back in New York.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 21, 2006 -> 12:55 AM) Yes, you are correct he has had control issues leading to a large increase in walks and thus an inflated WHIP. I'm not really sure why you'd mention his splits, I guess he sucks against lefties during the day which isn't exactly the sign of a bad pitcher. It is encouraging for his sake that he has not allowed a lot of hits to go along with those walks and the fact that he's striking out a s*** load of batters means that those walks that he's allowing are not comming around to score which shows up in his solid ERA. Zambrano has not sucked ass this year at all according to his stats but I guess since he's a Cub he must automatically suck, my bad. Also by looking at his game log I only see 2 real bad starts 4.2 IP w/ 5 ER and 4 IP w/ 7 ER, 8.2 IP and 12 ER in two starts is going to f*** yp your ERA pretty bad. He sucked with respect to standards he's set, and more so by expectations from those considering him the Ace of the "staff." Maybe he couldn't handle the pressure knowing, again, idiot Hendry was banking on two pitchers who have never been healthy and another who's only had 1/3 of a good season as a starter (Rusch early last year). The numbers only show 2 real bad starts, but watching him he's been less than stellar till late, and I don't expect him to be mowing them down tomorrow. Hope I'm wrong.
  18. Michael Barrett's crybaby ways go way back; nurtured by a great supporting staff of two of the biggest crybabies in 2004 - Alou and Steroid Sosa. Barrett was cryin' and starting s*** with Roy Oswalt while Oswalt was busy owning the Cubs and helping them choke their way out of playoff contention...
  19. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 20, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) Well once Kirstie Allie is through losing all that weight, somebody needs to take her place in the Jenny Craig commercials. sweet
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 21, 2006 -> 12:40 AM) 3.34 ERA, 62K, .221 BAA. HORRRIBLE! 3 decent starts of longer than 7 innings (finally) helped those numbers. You conveniently forgot to mention 35BB, 6 dingers, a 1.43 WHIP, and a 5.80 ERA vs. lefties leading to a meager 2-2 in 9 starts. Oh, did I mention a 7.00 ERA in day games?
  21. lmfao...the only ones who should be worried about Zamboni are the Cubs fans...cuz he's sucked ass this year...
  22. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 20, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) The slaps he was tossing BA's way were pretty feminine. Of course...he's an ex-Cardinal... QUOTE(Jim Spencer @ May 20, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) Mabry is alot older than Brian. At least Brian didn't get his Ass kicked by an Old Man like Robin Ventura see avatar?
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) No, I'm being very serious. Bonds has been amazing to watch over the last 6-7 years. I've never seen someone just dominate the sport the way he has. Basically, the way Thome has hit the first 3 weeks was the way that Bonds was for the entire season. It's just too bad that everything has happened the way it has. :puke Yes, the steroid era has been quite entertaining...unfortunately there's been no home (XLB, anyone?) for these monsters.
  24. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) Say Bonds hits 20 jacks this year and retires. People will never ever ever ever stop b****ing about how he just wanted to pass Ruth. WTF is he supposed to do? He obviously has very little left in the tank and he's just trying to hang on 1 more year. I agree: He obviously has very little left in the tank and he's just trying to hang on 1 more year. All he wants to do is pass whitey.
