  1. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 08:28 AM) Kilborne sucks at life. who's "Kilborne"
  2. That's not at all uncommon for many companies. They don't search out whether you're dead or not. All she had to do was tell the credit card company to stop payment, and they'd take care of it. This was just another case of poor customer relations, not a problem with AOL charging a dead man. Nice way to grab headlines there, StL Post-Dispatch...
  3. Where's the seats behind home, lower and upper deck? I like Random's for that reason...
  4. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 03:33 AM) We win 75% of the time he gets a hit. That would be a pathetic 20% of the time. Bad stat, dude.
  5. there are no good ones in Chicagoland anymore......too restrictive All the ones that used to be OK got shut down for "prostitution"... Two in Lyons...the original Cherry Club on Mannheim was "stripped" due to prostitution...it's comeback was lame. Promises on Mannheim, same. All the joints on Cicero Avenue (blatant prostitution!), and multitudes of seedy joints from the 70's were killed in the 80's, unfortunately.
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) Alcohol=truth serum. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) Indeed, a drunken mind speaks a sober heart. I wouldn't go that far...a drunken mind speaks a drunken brain moreso than any "truth"... How many times have people woken up the next day feeling like asses because they did something idiotic when they were drunk? Did that mean that's how they really are, sober? Not at all... I believe if you don't have the stones to say something sober, you must not really have the courage of your convictions. After all, what is the normal, sane human state - drunkenness? For most, not. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 05:20 PM) Plus, of all the people to piss off...IN HOLLYWOOD...the Jews aren't the ones. right???
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) More than some, there is a reason Wrigley is always sold out. ROFLMAO
  8. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:39 AM) Nothing. One month is not that long. Just mention it and tell her you've really enjoyed it, but that's enough. Most guys won't even do that. Anything more might freak her out. Be careful that you are not looking at it as a six years plus one month anniversary, cuz it's not. Didn't mean to be buzz kill, but I'll tell ya like it is every time. ...this guy couldn't be more right...one month ain't nothin' to celebrate, unless you've had trouble going more than a week ever before. When you get to 3 or 4, then you're hangin' on...push closer to a year and you're "uh-oh..." Anything past a year and you're really gettin' to know each other. 5 or longer, you might as well tie the knot.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 06:43 PM) I still prefer The Daily Show, but that's probably because it is on first and by the time Colbert comes on all his material is used up. Last night the Daily Show was hillarious in finding clips about Bush talking about food after he gained 5 lbs. I also love the reports and interviews with Jason Jennings. the Daily Show used to be good before Jon Stewart started hosting
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) From what I've read/heard/seen, New Yorkers HATE sports! Well, at least they hate the individuals who play the sports and the managers who manage the sports! haha holy crap you couldn't be more wrong... Two baseball teams (four actually, since a large percentage still follow the Gnats & Dodgers), Two basketball Three hockey (not sure if there was ever any whalers love outside of Hartford) Two football tons of collegiate sports soccer and this is all with Boston & Philly in fairly close proximity... (hell, maybe even some Jai Alai fans there...)
  11. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) So there is a radio personality that's worse than Mike North. Amazing... Chris Russo is Mike North with a brain, only crazier. The reason for this exchange is Russo is one of the old guard Giants baseball fans, and thus hates the Yankees. Any chance ever he rips into them... Even 1998, when they won 114 games, and fell behind 2-1 to Cleveland in the playoffs he was gettin' all over the Yanks fans...check this out:
  12. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) Too Cub fan-esque. Leave the o-meter signs and the throwing of opposition homers, occassional foulballs, and garbage on the field to the morons in the dump on the northside. stick with cool original sox-esque things like the rally-crede...errr...uhhh
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) 3/5 of our pitching staff is just not that good right now. The presence of El Duque in '05 was huge. His strongest month was July, during which he helped stabilize that staff before Contreras came on strong. No matter what the confidence level the fans had at any time with him, there's no question playoff races and pressure had little consequence on his play...I'm not so sure the same can be said about Vasquez.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) I smell a pop up to shallow left. haha...close! how fitting - Konerko starts the two-out rally, Carlos Lee makes the final out
  15. figures they'd have to go "there" with Ozzie...had to bring up the garbage during the All-Star Game? really fun chatter, guys...
  16. This rules- Kerry Wood Scheduled for Thursday Return, Friday MRI, Monday Surgery
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) I think one of the members of our starting staff is already injuried. Or does someone have a magical reason that Freddy lost so many miles per hour on his fastball. I lost some mph when I ended my baseball career in junior year of college. Felt a slight twinge, and then couldnt throw hard anymore. My MRI revealed horror in my elbow and shoulder. elbow and shoulder? damn...
  18. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 06:39 PM) Ah no one in Hollywood today could hold a candle to Sophia in her prime! Got that right!!! 1950's
  19. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) Scrubbies about to get the sweepage laid down on them by Houston. Lost 2 in a row to them and face Oswalt tonight. I guess they aren't going to get any momentum from that game they barely won against the Sox. HAHA guess not
  20. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) When Interleague play was created it was so fans could see teams and players they didn't get to see. I think they should now let fans see a style of ball they don't get to see. Have the DH for games in NL parks, and have the pitcher hit for games in AL parks. not a bad idea at all!
  21. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Jun 30, 2006 -> 12:37 PM) I will never go on another rollercoaster again. I was doing a looping coaster in Germany and the harness gave way in mid ride. did you survive?
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) And yet still out producing the cubs current CF'er in June Pierre: .269 .333 .323 8 SB Bitter taste isnt it? not at all, cuz 1) you're wrong, and 2) he sucked in Chicago... thanks for playin', though.
