  1. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) Well, you can park at the Grant Park garage and take the Red or Green to the game and back, that's one option. The other option is try to get to the game really early and park on the street just east of the Green line at 35th and State or so. You'll need to be really early. Great idea, thank you Jim!
  2. I didn't want to start a new thread for this but I have a question. I am going to the game on Saturday and want to catch the end of the day at Taste of Chicago afterwards. We are driving to the game and (obviously) do not want to attempt driving to Grant Park. I know how to get there on the red line and everything but wanted to ask someone what I should do about parking. If we leave the car parked in a Sox parking lot will it be o.k. for 2-3 hours after the game or will it get towed/ticketed/worse? If they close the lots within that time period, where might be a good place nearby to park? Thanks in advance for any help.
  3. Where in the park do you go to say hi to Nancy?
  4. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Hanging around after the Royals finished BP and the freaking Doobie Brothers come out about 45 minutes before game time. They did Listen to the Music and Rockin' Down the Highway. It was great! Then they did the National Anthem. They hung around the whole night because after the game I saw (I think) Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons in front of their buses talking to some fans. Were they on the radio or TV? I would love to hear Farmer interview Pat Simmons. White Sox baseball, expect the unexpected. Wow, that is awesome. congratulations on picking one of the best surprise nights of the season!
  5. Let's just see El Duque close for the rest of the season and when his arm gets tired he can pinch run.
  6. Carl has been clutch this year. I am getting more comfortable with him in the field after the last couple of right field outings. I love having Dye/Everett in RF and Frank/Everett at DH. I don't know if anyone came up with this before, but I suggest a nickname for Carl. EDIT: or a nice lil avatar for MEself . . .
  7. Although we will probably go on some kind of terrible losing streak during September and scew ourselves out of the playoffs AGAIN . . . IF we make it, I will order a credit card and put myself into lifelong debt, buying tickets to every playoff game I can get my hands on.
  8. QUOTE(sickness212 @ Jun 13, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) Anyone got 4 Tickets that I can buy for the July 8th game? Rat pack night . . . vs. Oakland . . . I'm planning on going & have 4 tickets but if anything strange happens and I cannot go I will keep you in mind.
  9. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) I have been trying to confirm the game being on ESPN for Monday, but all I see is some scrub game between Atlanta and Texas being listed on ESPN. Please direct me to your information source. I would be thrilled to see the game Monday. I do know we are on tonight over WGN from San Diego. Mark Buerhle is pitching. Well, the schedule has ESPN listed as showing the game http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...ex.jsp?c_id=cws. In Muncie, IN this summer though every ESPN and ESPN2 game has been blacked out for some reason so don't feel too bad if you can't get it in MO. At least you can subscribe to MLB.tv if you want.
  10. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) Anyone have a link to his sportscast? I'm may be the only one who has yet to enjoy his call. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/sportsnews.html
  11. Wow. After that happened I guess he had offers from Letterman and one of the regional FSN stations. There was a big article in the Ball State Daily News about how he turned down the interviews...going on to say how hard it would be to enjoy life if you are unable to laugh at your own mistakes. I'm glad he finally went.
  12. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 06:03 AM) Magic Bird ( he didn't need a nickname) Montana (another guy who didn't need one) I thought Montana's nickname was 'The Comeback Kid.'
  13. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) Why does it matter if the games by you are blacked out you can watch them on tv cant you? Well . . . I am at Ball "Boom Goes the Dynamite" State for summer school (Muncie, IN.) This means that if I had cable my regional sports network would be Fox Sports Midwest ... out of Missouri, a state that doesn't even border Indiana. I would have to get a satellite in order to see CSNC. I don't think it's worth it for just two months and I thought MLB.tv might be a more affordable option. Thanks for the reply.
  14. Does anyone know how mlb.com determines you zip code? I was wondering if it mgiht be possible to have someone outside the blackout area use their credit card to order the service for me. Or do they somehow use your IP address to find out where you're viewing from? Thanks in advance.

  16. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 25, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) I really want to see Frank playing back in Chicago, but it wouldn't be horrible if he had to finish his rehab stint. I think it'd be cool to see him play a game or two down in Indy. As it's been said in this thread and the other BMac threads, I agree with Ozzie. BMac needs to be pitching every 5th day and get his starts. I want to see Frank back with the Chicago White Sox ASAP. That said, I bought tickets a week ago to the June 5th Knights/Indians matchup . . . and think Frank and the Sox should play it by ear and give it as much time as it takes to get back to at least 75% true Frank form. Let the K's slow down, the walks speed up, and the bat heat up. Hope to see you PH'ing in CO Frank!
