  1. In case anyone wanted to know TB defeated Cleveland 1-0.
  2. Bruce Levine said Podsednik will meet with management to discusss his groin problem and tomarrow we'll know if he is put on the DL.
  3. Duque has lost 3 out of his last 4. He pitched well enough to win against the Yankees. Hopefully he does again and hopefully the hitting gets him the W.
  4. If our pitching was in tact this series we shoulda won 1 and maybe both. We shoulda won yesterday. If MB pitched 'decent' we woulda won. Today with Jon, he was lit up for 5 runs in 5 1/3 inn. We could have had a better chance at a win if we did not have to resort to Adkins after Jon was aweful. Mark has been looking tired and his era this month is 4.42 Im guessing the guys are just tired but I hope they bounce back. My point is these guys look tired and I hope they can return to form. I am happy that this offense showed heart in both games and made a run at a comeback. Keep it up guys. Hope Pods returns soon and avoids DL.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) Isn't Duque going tomorrow? Did I miss something? Im not sure but I thought it was Contreras. I didnt hear anything.
  6. I hope Contreras pitches well tomarrow cause then this whole series we would have to duke it out withem in a slugfest. We cant win this way against the Red Sox.
  7. Just awful that Buerhle and Garland pitch bad, back-to-back, against the Red Sox.
  8. This doesnt fare well for the bullpen if Garland continues this pace.
  9. HE GAWWN. The night is still young, boys. We can put up numbers against this guy it just takes us a couple innings to start it off.
  10. I hope Wakefield gets overconfident and throws meatballs out there. He retired the first 11 his first game against us and then got the loss. Hopefully the same happen today.
  11. That was a long shot by R. Petagine to deep right.
  12. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) At three o'clock the update guy said that George Offman is saying it's likely that Griffey Jr. cleared waivers. So Offman may just be talking out of his ass again, no matter how much we want to believe otherwise. Thanks for the update. I dont think we will get Griffey though. Unless Everett gets seriously injured or anyone else for that matter, I dont think KW will mess with this team.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) If I'm starting a team there's a few guys I might take over Buehrle, Roy Halladay (28), Roy Oswalt (27), Jake Peavy (24), and Johan Santana (26). Buehrle is a very good pitcher but I don't know if I'd take him over a couple of those guys. You forgot old fella Clemens I'd take him over anyone.
  14. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) Exactly...the whole point of why Adkins is here can basically be summed up as "in case s***" happens. In case of an early exit by a starting pitcher or a blowout then Adkins can be summoned to pitch. I like the fact he is here just so he can come in and eat 3 or 4 innings when we need him. It may only be only two or three times a month but I would much rather see him out there than having Politte pitch two, Cotts one and Jenks one when we can use Adkins in these situations. ^^^^^^Exactly. Adkins has one purpose on this team and it is to be the guy we use in blowouts or in verrrrrryy lonnnnnnnnng games so no one blows out their arms like Viz did in the Cleveland series. Thats why they are called long relief.
  15. Here's some notes from the game.... Ortiz has 100 homers for Boston, the 27th player in club history to reach that total. ... Johnny Damon extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a single in the sixth, his third streak of at least 15 games this season. .. Everett's 3 RBIs gave him 37 in his last 43 games. ... Wells issued no walks for his fourth straight game, a span of 26 innings. He's walked 12 batters in 130 innings and none in 11 of his 21 starts. ... Buehrle allowed more than five runs for the third time in 24 starts this year. ... Boston is 18-20 in series openers. Oh yeah, Mark Buehrle has allowed the Red Sox 22 hits and nine earned runs over 13-plus innings this year.
  16. RIP EMM!!! John Garland goes for win 17. Best of luck.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxjr27 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) great game. this sox team has heart. Yeah they got heart. Ozzie has guts but does he have the brains to stay in games with torre, francona, and the other good and potential playoff managers?
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Does this mean the Jenks for closer bandwagon has derailed? LMFAO. People make me laugh. He will be a closer sometime baring any injuries I hope. Maybe not this year but he will cause he's got amazing stuff and would dominate as a closer. I hope this game helps him learn from his mistakes to help his future.
