We coulda opened the game offensively after the Jays did in the first but instead we settled for the 1 run and let the pitcher get in a groove.
-
I cant wait til they go on their next road trip. :rolly

Somebody has to wake Podsednik up. He cant hit or steal or even take a walk.
-
This game blowed. Podsednik is just terrible now 2 for his last 25. BAD FUNDAMENTALS If we woulda executed and moved the runner along we would have won atleast 6-4. Im disappointed that no one bunted anyone over in the game. Ozzie shoulda put Timo in the eighth, not Blum. Its so frustating that they are 3-9 their last 12 games at home. This sucks right now.

QUOTE(Finkelstein @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) Here is an interesting take from the other side of this "deal"... http://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread....62&page=1&pp=20 Looks like Landner disappointed some people.

Im just interested to see if no one claims Junior and if the Sox make another push, if the Reds wuold trun them down again.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) I really think the Sox need another lefty reliever. Marte is overrated and he cannot get leftys out. J Hood said that The Rockies dont want to resign Fuentes and will probably be put on waivers. On Sporting News Radio I heard Guardado's name mentioned that he'd be a guy that would pass through waivers cause of his injury and contract. Ive been high on Fuentes for a month now and this guy is good. I dont know what Guardado' contract is though. Either way, Fuentes and Guardado, both lefties, good closers. But I agree with you I'd like to see another reliever.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) There's a spot called DH. You could put a hitter there who you don't want to play the field. Honestly if the White Sox were to get him in that deal, then I could see Griffey going to LF and Pods becoming a DH since Pods isn't so great at fielding. I would rotate Griff and Everett at left. I totally forgot about Podsednik's defense. I'd put him at DH.

Total BS.

Interesting but there is no space for Junior. Unless maybe if we moved Dye to SS and Junior to right and Uribe as backup INF. Anyways I dont got any feelings on Bor for Bor. I wouldnt see either contrubuting that much to the Sox in September and in the playoffs.

When he's on, he is on. But the reverse is just as... , how can I say, drastic. He goes in the worst slumps when he is struggling and I heard Bill Melton metion this last week that it usually lasts 7-10 days but for Carl it goes on longer cause thats the way he is.

QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) Thats awesome, but that quote happened the 1st not the 2nd, just a minor detail but i thought i should bring it up QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) Yeah, it is also spelled "Hawkaroo" Im on it. Thanks for the corrections guys.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) Ummm..... f*** NO! Old and bad, not a good combination. He had 6 wins which is ok for a bottom rotation man but he had a bad era of 5.66 at Safeco. Im with you Kalapse, Id pass.
-
NO to Sele unless he were to accept a minor league deal but I dont even know what his pay check is. Im content with our bullpen and rotation. Im especially happy to see Ozzie use Viz more in situations that are non pressure situations and help build up his confidence.
-
I agree Ozzie shoud start to ease off the innings for the starters.
-
He started his stay with the Pale Hose nicely. First robbing Wells of extra bases in the first and then at his first at-bat he gets an infield single. Ive said all along that Blum strenghtens our bench which is important, especially in the playoffs. Kudos Blum and keep it up.

JG didnt have his stuff and could not locate his pitches. Jenks and Adkins looked good today. I liked how the umpire handled it when Adkins hit Adams and gave the two teams a warning. He didnt just throw Ad out of the game. We gotta start playing better in front of these bigger crowds guys. Come'on Hernandez. Get'em tomarrow.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) They could still get someone in August. Olney called KW the most aggressive GM in baseball. I agree. I cant remember how many people KW was speculated as possibly trading for. -
I like the addition of Blum. He is versatile when it comes to playing all the infield postions and some outfield. KW did his best to get someone in this market. WE could have done more have it not have been for San Diego and them letting everyone in the west be a contender. But still there are a lot of teams in contention for the WC so it would have been hard anyways. I cant wait to see what Blum has.

Guardado would be good for the right price and AJ already knows him and how to handle him behind the plate. Another guy I'd want to get that I have not heard mentioned is Brian Fuentes. He is the closer for Colorado and he is left-handed. I dont think they would demand alot for him. He has 16 saves and he has 56K's in 48 innings. I sure wouldnt mind having this guy in the bullpen. Anybody heard if the White Sox could be looking at Fuentes?

A bad day for the Sox and Twins. Thats what Ive got to say. We lose Frank and they lose Hunter. Their offense is really in a fix now.
