  1. Mark Grace was a punching Judy hitter playing a power position.
  2. I suppose you can interpret my comments anyway you wish. Someone skilled in logical analysis would recognize the analogy, though. You seem decently well read, judging by your responses. I wouldn't think my attitude would affect this. I am usually skeptical of those who fly off the handle at the mere mention of certain "taboo" subjects, like war, or god, or sex. The "how can you compare this to......" crowd. These people are prone to low IQ's and shallow thought. This doesn't seem to apply to you, so your reaction was a suprise.
  3. Everett is NOT a proven hitter. He has only three 20 home run seasons. Frank had 19 at the all-star break last year.
  4. Pal, you completely misunderstood my comment on war protesting. No reasonable reading of my analogy could produce your interpretation. The point I was making was that you can, in fact, criticize and love something at the same time. People who call war protestors unpatriotic are as miss guided as you were suggesting I don't like the Sox because I bash them when they lose.
  5. You're right. I suppose because I don't take insults in here to heart that I assume others are equally thick-skinned. However, I do think people misinterpreted my analysis of a badly played stretch of games as me declaring the Sox are a bad team.
  6. "If" seems to be the prominent theme of Crede's career. To anwser your question, no, it would not be justified. I hope he reaches these numbers and I have egg all over my face. I seriously doubt he will.
  7. I didn't know people were so sensitive. Perhaps this website should come equiped with kleenex so folks can wipe away their tears when their feelings are hurt. You probably label war protestors as "fair weather" patriots. An equally ignorant arguement.
  8. There is a name for people who blindly root for their team, all the while ignoring their obvious faults and shortcomings. .....Cubs fans.
  9. Why does Guillen have such a hard on for Frank? Is it jealousy? I wish Ozzie would just shut the f*** up and pencil him in at the three spot. Hell, even Terry Bevington could figure that out.
  10. As for Crede, the man has had his chance. Play time is over and its time for the Sox to move on. He's a sub .240 hitter. For a power position this is not good. If he played the outfield we'd call him Joe Borchard. Moreover, I'm new here and unaware of protocol or unwritten rules for posting, but I think speaking your mind is important. Even if you're mind is filled with negative thoughts pertaining to the Sox offense. Candor can even be cathartic after the disaster in Texas.
  11. I'm not going to praise the White Sox, come hell or high water. After a game like today, a little negativity is in order, no? In regards to my screen name, would you prefer....I-LOVE-CREDE'S-POPUPS. Either way, I'll still go to the game tomorrow and cheer and hope for the best. Even if Clueless Joe is playing third.
  12. I would usually agree with you about the demorilization stemming from the extra two-three runs, but with the Sox offense as it is (pathetic, ugly, ineffective,.....) they weren't coming back today under any circumstances. These extra two-three runs when pitching from behind haven't really been a pattern for the pen, so far. I don't think Kenny-boy should concentrate on anything but improving the worst offense since the dead ball era. In particular, dumping the sorry sack of a third baseman, he of the .302 lifetime OBP.
  13. Hopefully they've been exiled with the Everett fans.
  14. I think Everett's eyes are hurt. Maybe he's been doing too much reading in the dark.
  15. I blame Steve Stone and Chip Caray.
  16. Even if Thomas struggles for a month, it will be a wash given Everett's ineffectiveness.
  17. Bring back Chris Snopek....please.
  18. I'm not loading the gun either......I'm tightening the noose.
  19. Rooting closely for a professional sports team is totally severed from rational behavior. Trying to have a reasoned discourse on such behavior, by extrapolation, is also irrational. I would much prefer venting my frustration.
  20. This offense is hampered with way too many automatic outs, not least of which is Joe Crede. When is this experiment going to end? The man has a career OBP of .302. I think Paco Martin's was higher, what is he up to these days?
  21. The Sox must have won the last three games, judging by the absolute glee filling this site.
  22. With all due respect, the season is a third over and nobody has hit consistantly, save for Iguchi. Furthermore, the first stretch of games against good teams brings a sub-.500 record. Does the term "fools gold" resonate?
  23. Sorry, but this guy attacked me right off the bat, probably on the basis of my screen name.
  24. After the last three games what is your attitude toward the Sox? Seashells and sunshine?
