  1. Excerpts from Obama's presidential announcement from February of 2007: Source I would do the same thing for Senator Clinton if I could but she decided not to announce her candidacy to the American people since she was the inevitable nominee.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 02:19 PM) If you ant change, and every candidate has now agreed to that position, you win, right? Or is the slogan change just a tool to get your candidate elected and you don't want the other candidates to use that tool? Obama has been using the same theme since his Illinois Senate days. Rallying people from the ground up has been a core principle for him for many years. When Hillary all of a sudden uses the same theme when it was never even part of her vocabulary then I wonder how devoted she is for this change.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 10:58 AM) I've watched the guy talk a lot. He's just not a person I want to see elected from a purely selfish standpoint. Fair enough.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 10:47 AM) Its hard to be inspired by someone who doesn't agree with anything you believe. That is me is a pretty major flaw. I can see how that would be a turnoff. Have you have a chance to look over all of his stances on issues? Perhaps there are some things you could agree with him on? http://www.barackobama.com/issues/
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2008 -> 10:18 AM) The problem is that there really isn't a candidate I can honestly say I like. They all have huge flaws for me. I tend to agree somewhat although Obama has less flaws for me than the others. I also think there's something to say about his ability to inspire so many people including young voters. When was the last time the youth came out in such numbers? I honestly feel he can do a good job of uniting this country. Call me naive or whatever else but that's how I feel. I also think our standing in the world would go up a few notches with an Obama presidency. I've read too many glowing articles from abroad to convince me otherwise.
  6. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) Change is a new campaign slogan No one claimed that Obama made it up but he's been using it as a slogan since last February when he announced his candidacy. She started using it when her polls were slipping and Obama's were starting to rise. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) I'm not even a Hillary fan, but your petty attacks is pushing me away from Obama in a hurry. So let me get this straight. You would consider not voting for Obama because of some random guy on a White Sox message board? Great rationale I must say. EDIT: I have a feeling you might react like me if all of a sudden Barack or Hillary started campaigning in a shuttle bus with the words "Straight Talk Express" on the side of the bus.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) A former Edwards backer, Rep. Dave Obey of Wisconsin (Feb. 19th) endorsed Obama today. Survey USA has Obama up by 20 in Virginia (Now that we're passed super Tuesday, all that matters again is the state contests). This weekend, there are 3 caucuses (Washington, Nebraska, Maine) and a Primary in Louisiana. Obama's performed very well in primaries so far, in no small part thanks to his highly motivated supporters showing up for the full duration, and he has at least a tentative demographic advantage in Louisiana, although no one seems to really know who still lives in that state after the heck of a job done there. Virginia and a couple others (MD, DC) come up next week, so this is his biggest shot. Do you mean caucuses?
  8. First she copies Obama's campaign slogan of "Change" and now it's "Yes We Can". Does she have an original thought? I guess imitation is the best form of flattery.

  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 02:18 PM) I was surprised the Clintons went on there after N.H. at all. But then again, every time Matthews makes an ass of himself, her poll numbers improve. It was David Schuster this time.
  11. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) Well, it's pretty obvious Chris Matthews HATES hillary. He has toned down a lot recently, but he was WAY out on her early. He despised her. I wonder if the MSNBC debates will now be called off.
  12. N.J. superdelegate for Clinton now undecided. Is this the first time that a pledged superdelegate has decided to unpledge themselves this campaign cycle (not involving campaign dropouts of course)?
  13. Whoah...what is going on here? I need more details. http://tinyurl.com/2kum8p UPDATE: http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmem...es_to_war_w.php
  14. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 10:35 AM) I really dislike it when a campaign has their canidate change their accent to suit their audience. +1
  15. I really dislike it when a campaign tries to defeat the candidate I am supporting.
  16. Landlord: Clinton staff stiffed me on rent
  17. By the way here's a photo from Tuesday's Obama rally. I realize now that I need a better camera. By the way that's Dick Durbin that Michelle is hugging.
  18. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 05:21 PM) As compared to Obama's 'no votes' during his political career? ps. and by 'no vote' I mean he didn't vote, abstained. not that he voted 'no'.
  19. QUOTE(iamshack @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 04:42 PM) Well, did you read the update to the article, which discusses that Obama once was the one looking for more debate time during his Illinois Senatorial Campaign...
  20. Reason 7830 I dislike Hillary... http://tinyurl.com/2fl7eg
  21. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 02:14 PM) Why do I hate Hillary? She pulls gimmicks like this... Clinton Campaign Staffers Not Going Without Pay despite early reports. Looks like their "money issues" were just a stunt to draw more money. Anything to stay in the news and drum up sympathy support.
  22. Apparently the Clinton campaign is holding a press conference to announce a record amount of donations in the last day or 2. Why a press conference?
  23. This is the moment Ron Paul has been waiting for.
  24. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 11:38 AM) Oh bulls***. Nobody cares, or at least no one cares that matters. From someone who has spent many hours phone banking for Obama let me tell you it matters to some people out there. They refuse to vote for a muslim even though a muslim is not running in this cycle.
