QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 02:25 PM) Easy lesson to learn from Bush knocking out McCain in 2000. Same scenario, ex-President with a family member running. Same stuff. It makes me ill. There is no way in hell I will vote for Billary.

Key Dem leaders asking Bill to tone it down.

Funny how you don't see robocalls smearing Clinton. Whatever it takes I guess.

This is far from over.

Screw it. Jeb should just marry Chelsea and we can end this oligarchy once and for all. Bring on the monarchy!

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 02:20 PM) I predict a 1% difference between Obama and Clinton in the end. I don't know who wins, but the difference will be 1%. Which means they would be splitting delegates once again. -

Watch results trickle in for the Dems. -
Watched 3:10 to Yuma last night. Some goodt acting performances but a ridiculous screenplay. Too many holes in the story to mention.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 02:27 PM) That's nice. Us high wage earners (HAH!) will be subsidizing your wedding now. Seriously, that's funny. Is there a list of things that I will be allowed to spend my check on? Is my wedding excluded?

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) So you're going to buy more or prettier flowers instead of feeding the homeless? (I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist) My name is not John Edwards.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) Our president is a moron, so what else is new? It's all psychological babble anyway, to be honest. I'm sure when the USTREAS check comes in your mailbox, no matter what your situation, you'll cash the check, now won't you? Of course. Going towards the wedding budget.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 01:54 PM) I'll say EXACTLY what I said before. If the overall economy wasn't in good shape THEN or NOW, we would be in a deep recession. You have one sector that is dragging down the whole shooting match, and if the other pillars weren't doing pretty well, we'd all be a lot worse off. I disagree. We wouldn't need the president to propose an economic stimulus package if the economy was in good shape.

And don't forget this one... QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 26, 2007 -> 04:29 PM) The economy is really strong right now. It should be getting more press.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 12:23 PM) Yes, because the economy is based SOLELY on the DJIA. I really need to go back and find that thread about how GRAND and GREAT those "easy credit" mortgages are for people. You can't get anything for free, people, and this is the best lesson of that. OVERALL, the economy is in decent shape. Let's put it this way - we'd be in a lot more of a world of hurt with this if the economy wasn't in decent shape. We're able to sustain this pretty well BECAUSE the economy isn't bad right now. BTW, the market rocketed back up pretty quickly off of the lows, back nearly to the 10% - so there is some resisitance there. Heh. I remember getting bashed because I thought the economy was in bad shape about 6 months ago.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 10:05 AM) Ok, I need some clarification on this. It's the second time of read it. how does he get to choose? I was under the impression that his delegates would have to go to one of the other candidates. Does he make them to go to his candidate of choice or can he just endorse one of the 2?
-
QUOTE(Reddy @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 09:57 AM) I think she'll take a majority of them - certainly California and New York - the two w/ the most delegates. You do realize that none of the Democratic primaries are "winner take all"? Even if she wins California she may only get a few more delegates than Obama. Just look at NH as a great example. She and Obama each received 9 delegates.
-
Another superdelegate endorses Obama. This one is pretty important as his campaign is making an effort to make inroads with females and Hispanics.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 08:51 AM) He's starting to - look at the polls. I think people realize he's probably the only Republican who has a good shot at winning the election against the Dems. Heck, I'll vote for him most likely if Clinton is the nominee for the Dems. If Clinton is the nominee I will weigh my options between Bloomberg , if he runs, and McCain.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 08:45 AM) There is a huge difference between 2 yrs/$11 million and 5 yrs/$90 million. Would you rather have Hunter for $15+ or Swisher, Dotel, Linebrink for $13? I understand that those contracts are not comparable but this is nothing more than an $11M band aid. That's pretty pricey for a band aid.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 08:15 AM) I just don't want any reactionary "uh... let's bomb pakistan" coming from the next President and I worry about something like that with Obama. I don't recall him saying "uh....let's bomb pakistan". Way to parse and take things out of context. Your guy actually did an "uh....lets bomb Iraq" without reading the NIE reports beforehand so I'm not so sure he's got the judgment we are looking for.
-
Although I like the addition I'm wondering about that contract. If Kenny is willing to pay that much for a guy who's barely played recently then why not spend a lot for a proven, healthy commodity (Hunter, Rowand, etc)?

From an NPR interview today:

Someone finally questions the "35 years of experience". EDIT: I should have said someone else besides me.

Per CNN the casinos will be allowed to hold caucuses.
