Another big endorsement for Obama.

Some fact checking of Tuesday's debate.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 02:33 PM) I guess I am not normal in this regard, but, when I interview people, I prefer a real answer. if I get too many well-polished shields for answers, I won't be hiring them. I know going in that people will not be perfect - but I'd rather they were straightforward about it. Hence why I rolled my eyes while listening to those responses last night.

Someone just sent me this link regarding Obama's experience. LINK

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 01:42 PM) As are the GOP candidates. Contrary to what some seem to think, none of these guys and gals are dummies. I should have added "good orators". That includes the GOP candidates. Had to get a dig at Bush at some point.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) Style and personality sure as hell didn't help us over the last 7 years, now did it? Well at least the 3 Dems are also highly intelligent.
-
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) There's some truth to that... you never tell them a real weakness in a job interview unless you can make a strength out of it. I think the public is really looking at honesty this election cycle. The 3 Dems are not that far apart on issues. Style and personality will go a long way.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 01:31 PM) I told you all that Clinton's got it locked up after N.H. Don't hold your breath.

And wouldn't you know Hillary is already using Obama's response against him. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/...nagement-style/

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 01:02 PM) Edwards answer was by far the best in my opoinion, and I don't like the man at all. I agree that his answer sounded great. That wasn't my point. He really didn't give us a "weakness". Caring too much isn't a weakness.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 12:50 PM) I suspect you heard Clinton and Edwards sound like typical politicians and heard Obama sound like, well, refreshing. I didn't see the debate, but I'd guess that those that support the other two would paraphrase quite differently. In all honesty I think all 3 had good performances overall. But I found their actual responses to this question.... Obama Edwards Clinton

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 12:38 PM) Well, that is what you're supposed to do when you're in a job interview, and that's what a debate is, really. I guess I don't find anything wrong with it. Clinton and Edwards sounded like typical politicians. Just another example of why myself and many others find Obama refreshing.

One thing that popped up in my head regarding last night's debate was the question on strengths and weaknesses. I thought only Obama actually gave a weakness while the other 2 spun an actual strength to make it look like a weakness. I found it lame that they couldn't answer that question honestly. I couldn't help but to roll my eyes when I heard the other 2. To paraphrase Hillary: I get I too impatient because I care so much. Edwards: I'm too empathetic, making me try too hard to fight for the underdog. Obama: I am disorganized when it comes to paperwork, schedules, etc.
-
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) Obama looks kinda flat tonight in the debate I think he's been quite sharp.
-
Hopefully after a couple more 4th and 5th place finishes I can stop hearing about this Ron Paul madness.

Heh. Someone posted this in one of the Huffington Post blogs on the Michigan Primary: Made me chuckle.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 11:30 AM) Obama became a Christian because he wanted to be a senator/president. You just lost all credibility.
-
QUOTE(Reddy @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 08:20 PM) now this is absurd. a Nevada judge said that Kucinich could participate in the debate. that's effing ridiculous. he's only going to screw over edwards and to be annoying. i've lost all respect for this guy. so instead of a good debate between the top three we'll have another moron wasting time. f*** it. after the poll in NV i was actually getting hopeful but this hurts Edwards. damn him. Pardon my ignorance but how does this hurt Edwards?
-
QUOTE(iamshack @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) Something to be said for Hilary's experience in the White House though, whether she was just First Lady or not. She has real-world experience regarding the pressures, the heat of the spotlight, etc. She has more experience than any of the other candidates, in some light. What experience did she get in the White House? In specifics. How is she different than Barbara or Laura Bush? How does that experience translate to being the leader of the only remaining superpower in the world?

I think they aren't polling in Nevada is because of NH results and that Nevada is doing their 1st ever caucus...something hard to predict I assume.

Finally saw Apocalypto. Would recommend it even with its many factual inaccuracies and somewhat cliche action chase sequence in the final third of the movie. Visually stunning.

Watched the documentary "Rock School" last night. I would recommend it to all the rockers in here.
