QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 01:02 PM) IN general, for the past 6 months or so, I've been averaging 13.5 hours from the time I leave the apartment in the morning to the time I come back in at night. Yeah but you forgot to mention that you somersault all the way to work and back.

For Dems only.
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 11:30 AM) And there's veto #1... Just remember, you're counting your hopes on someone being able to talk some sense into this President. Good luck. This reminds me of that post that NSS made a while back asking what exactly has Bush done that is good. It's like he is going out of his way to do the wrong things. At the gym during lunch they showed some poll numbers on one of the TVs that had 75% of Americans supporting this bill. Apparently the hundreds of billions of dollars spent in Iraq won't affect our taxes but this bill will?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 09:16 AM) Some interesting things in here on how those numbers you hear are spun. For instance I didn't know that every person who even buys a bumper sticker from a campaign is considered a "donor". http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/thegaggle/a...r-bankbook.aspx Obama is smart. Not sure why the other candidates didn't use this tactic. They use third parties for their products. From his website:

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 02:55 PM) I've been trying to find less biased sources. If it was on their front page, it was there for a reason, and not what anyone thinks. But I'm not going there. Does this have anything to do with national sarcasm day?

pick your candidate quiz
QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 02:45 PM) First link: Dodd, Kucinich, Edwards, Obama, Clinton. Second link: Obama, Dodd, Kucinich, Clark, Gore. Obama/Dodd in 2008? I'm thinking Obama/BigSqwert.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 01:53 PM) I didn't see it. Of course it wasn't widely reported and we know why. It was on the front page of cnn.com and msnbc.com yesterday.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 2, 2007 -> 08:17 AM) WTF?! I somehow ended up with, in order: Biden, Dodd, Brownback, Obama Weird. I think THIS SURVEY is a little more detailed, and I find, a bit more accurate (asks more questions, phrases them in such a way that its more general and covers more smaller issues). Its one we've used here before. Two things, though... One, be careful of the priority sliders - they only go to HIGH or LOW, so if its medium, don't touch it. Two, once you submit your choices, you have to hit SKIP past a couple ads to see your results. My results from that one: Barack Obama 63% Ron Paul 63% Al Gore* 62% My results from the survey you linked: Obama 85% Kucinich 84% Dodd 78% Bloomberg came in 4th at 76% and the the first GOP candidate was Ron Paul with 52% (15th on the list.)

GOP Primaries/Candidates thread
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 01:26 PM) Obviously, I suffer from not being able to articulate things because I agree 100% with what you picked out of that speech, and I've said it here and other places: it's ABSOLUTELY the way this president and others have presented this "war on terror". This speech sums up this struggle about the best I have seen it done. I wish that the knuckleheads in Washington could see things this way instead of screaming back and forth for the power elements. I don't recall your response to Obama saying that he would launch a precise strike in the mountains of Pakistan if there was evidence where Bin Laden was. But look at what Huckabee has to say about Pakistan. Obama's remarks make even more sense to me.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 01:30 PM) The problem is that the speech doesn't fit into a 5 second soundbyte. You would literally have 95% of America changing the channel if you tried to explain the Middle East in that fashion. Its just sad to be honest. Most American's don't understand the rest of the world, because we only see things through our own eyes. Bingo.
