  1. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 10:46 AM) Jim Thome will not be out an extended period of time. There is no need to panic. How do you know this? Are you the team doctor?
  2. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) Did he say why he hated it here? Nancy Faust turned him down.
  3. QUOTE(TheHolyBovine @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 08:23 PM) Your precious CF comes up short in everything that matters. I can't believe people are still complaining about Erstad when he's the only one doing anything these days.
  4. Erstad is the only hitter we have hitting over .250 (not including injured players).
  5. When we get a new hitting coach. And not only on this squad but down in the farm as well. As SSI71 repeatedly states, and is dead on, our entire organization brings up guys with long looping swings. Everyone seems to have the same hole in their swing. We need to teach guys to shorten up on their swing when they have 2 strikes and to slap the ball to all parts of the field. BTW - My sig makes me want to cry.
  6. Thank God. Cintron made me puke.
  7. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 11:42 AM) Joe Thomas to the Browns...a little bit unexpected I would have taken Quinn.
  8. What are the odds the the Bears get that trade of Briggs to happen?
  9. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 11:35 AM) You should be, he does have some good pieces to throw to also figuring Moss doesnt get traded. Him and Moss could be exciting and Curry was decent while he wasnt injured but I bet you guys take a WR 2nd or 3rd round. Maybe O Linemen. I have a feeling they will trade Moss. He could actually hinder JR's progress since he'll most likely be his whining self all year. Moss wants to play for a contender and have a shot at the Super Bowl especially since he's is starting to get past his prime. I only see him being a distraction.
  10. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 10:22 AM) Im glad I looked here. Im going tonight and I assumed it was starting at 7:11. Why isnt it starting at 7:11? Saturday night games are always at 6:05. I think the weeknights are later because people need time to get to the park from work.
  11. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 09:08 PM) I guess none of the candidates felt like 'going green' to or from the debate. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,268942,00.html I'll be more satisfied if whoever gets elected, Pub or Dem, can set higher fuel economy standards and help subsidize more green technologies. The method of transportation to one debate isn't as big of a concern to me unless they all decided to separately take coal powered locomotives. And of course this wouldn't be a Sqwert post unless I replied with something snarky to you so lets see.... I'm sure the GOP hopefuls won't all be skateboarding to their debate next week or whenever it is.
  12. QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Apr 28, 2007 -> 08:40 AM) Any news on a possible DL stint for Thome? From the official Sox site:
  13. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 09:51 PM) just got in...any updates on thome? He didn't make it.
  14. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) Uh oh. Forgot the green.
  15. Well at least i had a good 1st inning with Santana since he's on my fantasy team.
  16. *sigh* Thome is irreplaceable. Cintron and his .083 average has big shoes to fill tonight.
  17. A cool quote from a Thomas Friedman article I was just reading:
  18. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) as far as the other stuff, you could say the same thing for all the other major candidates. A bit of an exaggeration don't you think? QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 27, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) McCain should have been the nominee in 2000. he's too old now IMO Agreed on both counts.
