  1. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 01:29 PM) The Cubs are off to a fantastic start this game. Down 3-0 to the Astros in the first. I can pretend that I don't care about what happens on the north side but when I hear things like this I smile inside.
  2. This really is a dumb thread and a stupid question to be asked of Sox fans.
  3. QUOTE(JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 06:47 AM) ...but i still say that division games mean more than non-division games... Because we all know how many ties for first place occur at the end of each season. Gotta have that tie breaker!
  4. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) And I see no reason to have him in Charlotte. Really? You can't think of any reason at all?
  5. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:05 AM) by the way, why does it sound like a muppet musical in that stadium..kazoos, bongos, drums, airhorns, tubas what a f'in bunch of weirdos. LMAO I always wondered the same thing.
  6. I hate when we face someone that we've never seen. We tend to look awful at the plate.
  7. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 09:25 AM) We've gotten 3 really good pitching performances in a row (4 if you count Masset's relief job) and that's probably the only sure-fire sign of season long success in baseball. So at this point, yeah, we're looking like a damn good team. No doubt. I know it's early but I really like what I'm seeing from this pitching staff. Just need to have some of the starters go a bit deeper into the game to keep that bullpen fresh.
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) Obama on Letterman tonight. Was a pretty safe interview for the most part. Was a good opportunity for him to get national exposure and show off the charisma and personality.
  9. I am very happy that Pods is making me look like a fool. We need him to keep it up in order to keep the pressure on our opponents. Kudos to Jose for pitching his ass off against a team that had his number. Looks like big Jim is also heating up as well. Sox bullpen starting to resemble the dominating force we hoped they would be. Now all we need is for Paulie and JD to heat up and we can be virtually unstoppable.
  10. First the Tigers and now the Twins. Turning into a good day in the AL Central.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) Gem of a post from the MLB cubs board Yikes. And ours fans are the ones that are supposed to be white trash?
  12. Lidge's replacement in for the save.
  13. Obama on Letterman tonight.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) I have no idea how in the world they thought that starting that Durbin guy was a good idea. Pitched in 3 big league games in the last 2 seasons. 29 years old. Career WHIP 1.62, 6.14 ERA, 17-30 career record, started 29 games for the Royals in 01 but since then has floated around between the minor leagues, the Indians, the D-Backs, and now Detroit. Seriously, I have no freaking clue how you start him instead of Miner. I will thoroughly enjoy watching the Tigers fall on their face this season. At least I hope that's what happens.
  15. Who the heck is this Durbin kid with Detroit? Breezing through the Orioles lineup so far. Millar comes through with a solo shot. Hopefully the senior Senator from Illinois gets rattled. Wow. I spoke too soon. This kid is getting schooled.
  16. This was a pretty good read. Scary stuff. Full article
  17. QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 11:02 AM) very good news indeed, this would be. Heh, that sounded yoda-like,
  18. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 10:29 AM) According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Toby Hall (shoulder) "is healing so well that he might return next month." Hall, who was initially expected to miss at least half the season, is scheduled to throw Monday for the first time. ''Hopefully he takes baby steps and stays on that,'' manager Ozzie Guillen said. ''I don't want him to take big strides and the fallback.'' That's great news. We sure could have used him vs Santana and CC.

  21. They forgot the 3 inch wide white leather belt and jeans 3 sizes too tight.
  22. My favorite player of all time is Frank. However, let me play the devil's advocate. Why is everyone 100% sure that he is "clean". Did he provide Soxtalk a urine sample that I was not aware of?
