Which one worries you more?
I rarely get the feeling before a game where I think our starter will have an easy game. These 5 guys are getting paid a lot of money to look mediocre. And is it just me or does it seem like every game our starter has close to 100 pitches in the 5th or 6th inning?

Big Frank
Hell yeah Frank! Keep up the torrid hitting against those Tigers this week.

And That's A White Sox Loser
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) why is it that our offense "destroyed" one of the best pitchers in the NL, but Buehrle "wet the bed" is it ok to have one set of standards for our pitcher and our offense and another for the opponents? Honestly, I don't get it. Are you a priest? Have you ever found a single thing to criticize about this team?

AJ PUNCHED TO PITTSBURGH!
QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 07:12 PM) alright maybe I was being a bit extreme, but they don't have 5 solid starters without him, and we know what the sox did with only 4 good starters... A bit extreme? They are the best pitching staff in baseball. BTW they have had 6 good starters this year with Maroth.

This trade makes sense. Our offense has been awful so far.

AJ PUNCHED TO PITTSBURGH!
QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 07:03 PM) ...and without Verlander the Tigers have no starting pitching... Right. The rest of the Tiger starters have a combined 12.32 ERA. :headshake

QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 07:04 PM) heard on the score that ozzie said if anyone got hurt, crede makes it.... That's what I figured. However Joe or Iguchi should be in over Mark.

QUOTE(JackTalkThai @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 06:57 PM) While that's obviously true, I'd still say that Roy Oswalt and his 3.27 ERA (run support excluded) was having a better season than Buehrle. I just think that Garner handled the situation in the manner that I wish MLB would tweak the process in order to ensure happened again in the future. Select players that are having a great year this year, not reward players for last year's playoffs. This sort of stuff happens every year. Nothing you can do about it unless the rules are changed somehow. At least your guy made the final vote.

AJ PUNCHED TO PITTSBURGH!
I think AJ is on the ballot over Crede because he is better known across the nation. Everyone knows who AJ is regardless if you like him or not.

QUOTE(JackTalkThai @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 06:48 PM) How many Astros did Garner select? In case you haven't noticed the Astros suck this year. The Sox are 25 over .500.

I hope Jose only see 1 or 2 batters in the middle of the game. He pitches 2 days before the game. Don't want to mess him up.

QUOTE(JackTalkThai @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 06:32 PM) Besides the fact that his coach was the guy picking the rosters, can anyone here rationalize Buehrle (or you can just insert AL starter not named Johan Santana) making the team over Verlander? Verlander is #1 in the AL in W's and #2 in the AL in ERA. Seems like a snub job to me. There is a case for a few guys to get in over Buehrle and Redmond.

It would suck to see 2 Sox players on the 5 man vote. They'd split votes.

And That's A White Sox Loser
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 2, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) If Politte were on the Cubs it would take Baker half a season to have the balls to remove him from the bullpen. Correct me if I am wrong but today is the official halfway point in our season and Ozzie is still trying to see what Cliff has to offer. He came into the game with a 7.48 ERA. I thought it was obvious over a month ago that he had nothing to offer. He has yet to have a good outing this year from what I can recall. It all started on opening day when he had trouble getting outs.
