White Sox vs. Orioles 7/5/06
QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) WTF Juan? Haven't you seen everybody walk? Have to score more here, Pods. 10th guy to bat. Kinda hard to get mad at Juan the way he's been batting lately.

AJ PUNCHED TO PITTSBURGH!
I forgot to add green to my previous post. But did I really have to? *slaps own knee*

AJ PUNCHED TO PITTSBURGH!
Why did they choose such an awkward slogan? It's almost embarrasing, making it sound as if people should literally punch AJ. What a disgrace. I will vote for Hafner because of this. This just shows what a clueless organization we have.

Respect
So you respect the Cubs? They beat the champs twice.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) If Kenny Rogers gets rocked, like I hope he will, would Ozzie still consider him the front runner to start the all star game. He almost has to. All the other pitchers pitch on Saturday and Sunday right before the ASG. (Don't quote me on that ) QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) Tigers got a 2-0 lead early on. Bottom 2. Yes. Thank you for pointing that out. It is very difficult to pull up mlb gameday. Have I mentioned that Saarloos sucks?

The beginning of the end
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) They beat the crap out of the same NL (read, CRAP) teams we did in June. Let's see July. But did better against them than we did.

Phil Rogers: Cubs should seek the White Sox for help
Razor Shines sounds like he should be a horror movie villain.

Manny skipping All-Star game?
QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 12:53 PM) Ryan (Minneapolis): Keith, how about some playoff predictions? SportsNation Keith Law: (1:51 PM ET ) Sure, but don't take them too seriously. Boston, Detroit, Chicago, and Oakland in the AL. Mets, Reds, Dodgers, and Astros in the NL. Chicago and the Mets in the World Series, Chicago wins in 6. That idiot. What does he know?

The beginning of the end
I am cautiously optimistic. Our schedule isn't much easier but I think we have the horses to get us through it.

Uribe
QUOTE(VAfan @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 11:07 AM) (Now if only BA could learn to hit behind him ....) Slowly but surely.

Crede
I think we'll be fine with him on the bench for a couple days.

Manny skipping All-Star game?
QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) Was it one? I thought he picked Jenks, Buehrle and Konerko. Contreras, Thome & Dye were voted in by the players. That's what I had heard also.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 08:29 AM) That's why I love the salary cap in other sports like the NFL and the NBA etc. which makes it a far more fairer marketplace for all teams but that's JMHO. I think most of us would agree with you on that.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 08:01 AM) When they make the playoffs. Still got half a season left yet folks. So you only have respect for teams that make the playoffs? No one picked the Tigers to be where they are. How can you not respect what they have accomplished so far, whether they wind up playing .300 baseball the rest of the way of if they make the playoffs? So you typically only respect the Yankees and Red Sox since they make the playoffs each year? I have a lot of respect for the Royals team that came out of nowhere a couple years ago even though they didn't make the playoffs. It's good to see a perennial loser prove the critics wrong.

They've been in first place for quite some time now. And when they lose they still look amazing pitching-wise. Not sure what other proof the doubters need.
