The Positive Thread
QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 10:53 AM) I don't care if he's batting .058 Most people do. Including Kenny and Ozzie.

Backup Outfielders and now Relievers
Any chance of the Braves trading Andruw Jones? I know I'm grasping for straws here.

Rumor heard during Phillies-Dodgers game...
QUOTE(worldchampsox05 @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 09:45 AM) who gives a s***..Chicago loved Aaron but that didnt stop KW. personally i think all these Philly fans are full of s***. They dont know him like we do and hes only been with them for 7 mnths and has been only playing for 2. So why would they want to get rid of him? He's having a very solid year for them.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 09:01 AM) Outside of Brian Anderson and Juan Uribe (who hasn't listened much at all, just reading the quotes this year, and years past) the hitters are doing fine. Not sure I agree. Feels like 2004 all over again. Hitters look amazing one day and the next day they seem to all pull the ball or hack at the 1st pitch. Would like to see some more patience out there, have some of the guys slap the ball to the opposite field, shorten up with 2 strikes, etc. All these 6 and 7 pitch innings are getting on my nerves. We see them way more than we should.

2006 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 08:25 AM) Awesome. I am glad to see Ozzie taking the Bull by the horns, and it really showed with the excellent bunt that Tads laid down on Sunday. Now lets see Coop and Walker do some magic.

Official Get Jermaine Dye to start the ALL Star game Thread
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 12:01 AM) Ozzie will bring the right guys to the all star game, so I have no worries about the voting stuff this year. My point was that the number of Sox that should be there aren't as high as they were a couple weeks ago. (I'm taking a shot at our starting pitching)

Have the Sox just gotten fat and lazy?
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) ...what the f*** is Greg Walker being paid for... To watch the opponent throw 6 pitch innings against us.

In house options to replace BA...
QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 09:01 PM) Can Dye play cf? Don't crucify me, just asking. No.

Official Get Jermaine Dye to start the ALL Star game Thread
After the A's series I figured we would have about 4 All Stars (Dye, Iguchi, Buehrle, and Contreras). Now I think we'll be lucky to have 2, with Dye and Iguchi (possibly even voted in). Thome will be hurt by not even being on the ballot and not playing 1B this year (NL park so no DH). I don't see any of our pitchers making the team at this point. A slight case could be made that Jenks could make the team but how many closers will Ozzie take on the team especially with Papelbon being a lock?

Have the Sox just gotten fat and lazy?
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) BTW, I know it doesnt seem possible, but if Anderson wasn't out in CF today, the score would have been alot worse. Brian needs to be out there everyday. Not sure I agree. Not one of BA's better defensive games this year IMO.

Have the Sox just gotten fat and lazy?
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) Trouble was, we had our best defense today on the left side of the infield I think he meant outfield as well.

MAKE A DEAL
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 06:23 PM) Carl Everett and Robbie Alomar should be available any day. Perhaps he can 'pull an Everett' and grab Marte or Vizcaino again? They seemed to have gotten things back on track.

Sorry about your mom. Not sure where to guide you on the yearbook.

In house options to replace BA...
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 06:15 PM) His numbers at home aren't anything to brag about either. Yeah but a .164 slugging percentage?!? Sheesh.

MAKE A DEAL
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 06:08 PM) Salomon Torres is just bad. He currently has a 1.49 WHIP in the NL, imagine what that would be like against superior competition. I'm sure Cooper can fix him.

In house options to replace BA...
Wow. This is the first time I looked at Brian's splits. His numbers on the road are eye-poppingly bad.

Have the Sox just gotten fat and lazy?
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) 4 for 13 is beyond a small sample size. He got beat up in his first outing against the D-Rays and allowed a hit to Raul Ibanez those are the 4 hits he allowed to lefties this year. Hardly worth mentioning. I'll give you that but we haven't been world beaters vs lefty pitchers this year. Maybe the stacked righty lineup isn't the way to go?

Have the Sox just gotten fat and lazy?
QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) Yep. That puzzles/bothers me too. For some reason he doesn't use that same logic when the opponent is batting (See BMAC vs Catalanato and Politte vs Chavez).

Have the Sox just gotten fat and lazy?
QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) Likely that more than the day off thing, I agree. I wonder when Oz will realize that it isn't working as well as it does on paper? He does the same thing against other lefty pitchers. Lefties hit Johan Santana much better yet Ozzie does the stacked righty lineup against him too.

Jeff Nelson to DL
LMAO Love the sig Flash.

Have the Sox just gotten fat and lazy?
QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 05:36 PM) When I got to the park today and saw that the "Sunday" lineup was in full force, I wanted to strangle Oz. The lineup we saw today was because Ozzie wanted his right-handed hitters to bat against the lefty. For some reason he thinks that gives us our best chance at success even though lefties hit over .300 against Rheinecker (granted a small sample size).

Pujols hurt
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) How about Jim Edmonds sacking up today and stepping up to the plate by playing hurt because his team needed him. I didn't realize he played. For some reason I thought he went on the 15 day DL. So it's just Carpenter and Pujols?

Twins about to lose. Now we just need Captain Cheeseburger to have a bad game tonight.
