Oh jeez. I think I'll pass. I'd hate to think that by watching that crap I am contributing to making those douches even richer.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 10:16 AM) I don't know. Hugh Jackson wasn't going to get a head coaching gig anywhere else. Was he going to leave for another OC role? I didn't even think that would be possible since you need to get a promotion. This is a pretty foolish move to me. Yeah I read quite a few articles bashing the move and I'm in complete agreement with them.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 10:06 AM) Speaking of Oakland, why on Earth do you fire Tom Cable after the Raiders look competent for the first time in forever? Anything involving Al Davis is baffling. The guy needs to just die already. The team played hard for him and made big strides so they can him. And they went 8-0 against their division. What more could you ask for with the talent they have?

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 09:49 AM) I won't have any sports stuff since I will be coming directly from work, but I will see all of yours, haha. Maybe you should pick up a pink carnation on the way and pin it to your lapel.

Rafael Soriano signs with Yankees
I'm somewhat baffled that he isn't being pursued more aggressively by teams? Why is that? Admittedly I haven't been following the guy over the years but his numbers are quite impressive.

A little late on the Vince Young discussion but Oakland and their reputation for taking castoffs from other teams seems like a somewhat logical fit. I hope they don't try to acquire him though.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 01:16 PM) They do stuff like that on purpose, just to point out the contrast in the way things were. That's why whenever there is a scene in a doctor's office, the doctor is smoking. People smoking in elevators. The kids in season 1 wearing the dry cleaning plastic over their heads. The kids always fighting in the car and jumping over the seats without any seatbelts on. The pregnant women smoking and drinking. It's one of the reasons I like the show, to see how our parents and grandparents lived... It was kind of strange seeing Jon Hamm in The Town last night because I am so accustomed to him being Don Draper. We watched a couple more episodes last night. What the heck was with that whole thing with the seemingly incestuous family that he ran off with? What a strange episode. Felt almost like a David Lynch episode with the weird cast of characters. And the very next episode they were all gone. Seemed like some odd continuity.

Nationals broke deal on Dunn/Jackson
QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 12:43 PM) Wouldn't it be tampering if they were on a TV show saying that they wanted Dunn? I don't think so. Isn't it tampering if you contact the player?

Nationals broke deal on Dunn/Jackson
QUOTE (joeynach @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) Dont you remember that episode of the club. KW came to his people sitting in the War Room and discussed the trade. He said we have a strong chance of being able to land Jackson for Hudson. They then started discussing are they a better team going forward with Jackson in the rotation instead of Hudson. That was it, there was no talk of flipping Jackson or only acquiring Jackson to get Dunn. Im sure there was some discussion, but I still think the KW and his team came to a consensus that even if Jackson wasn't flipped over to the Nats the sox were still an improved team with Jackson starting over Hudson. That whole video was broadcast well after the trade. Who knows if they edited it to reflect what really happened. Perhaps they had discussions about flipping him but since it didn't pan out they only showed the clips as we saw them.
