  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:50 AM) We're 30-29 on the road on the season. But our best offensive players have terrible splits on the road. We'll be asking our pitchers to throw shutouts against the cream of the crop.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:48 AM) And that 1 that he walked was the old unintentional-intentional walk too. Jackson deserved the win last night and the loss was on the offense, but Jackson wasn't a dominant pitcher for the middle 3 innings. I could be a real jerk and say "Yeah but Hudson wouldn't have given up as many hits, look at his last game line!" but that's just as silly as your point. Meh. He was effective enough to not give up a bunch of key hits to break the game open for Baltimore. He's been night and day with us vs Arizona and I think he'll only get better.
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:47 AM) Yea, I know, cooler heads need to prevail here...but after that series with the O's, my faith in this team took a severe ding. We just better pray that we play the wild card in round 1 (if we make it to the post season) and get home field advantage. We suck on the road.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:35 AM) My problem was, from watching him...for the first 3 innings he was dominant. For the 2nd 3 innings, he was getting the ball up a whole lot more and was in "pitch out of trouble" mode. Yea, the defense screwed him out of 1 of those runs, but he also grooved a few balls that inning that Pie and Scott hit hard as singles to help with that inning. A better hitting team does more damage than the O's last night. Wow. You're really being a tough critic. The guy gave up 1 earned run and showed good control by walking only one. At least if it were Hudson we would have lost the game by the 3rd inning after he walked 5 and gave up 4 or 5 runs.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:40 AM) It's over if we go into any sort of sustained slump was kind of what I said. And I truly believe it is. We will not be going on another 25-5 run this year, and we've shown how afraid of the Twins we seem to be already. Our team looks scared every time they plan the Twins, I'm not sure why I feel like that, but I do. And what's sad is I think we're WAY better of a team, yet we continue to let their scrub ass players beat us. Not their stars. Their scrub players that wouldn't even be bench players on other teams. The team was doing fine last time we played them. It was Jenks that crapped his pants on the road.
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 10, 2010 -> 08:30 AM) Over? Sheesh, we're tied for first. "Over" is an incredible overreaction. Winning this series is definitely big, but its not "over" for either team even if one sweeps the other. So true. Although many of us will throw a fit if we get swept it would be far from over.
  7. Lets hope Kenny is ignoring Paulie this year. We do need help no matter what our captain says.
  8. Like someone said in this thread earlier. We're going to lose this division because of pitching. *rolls eyes*
  9. Don't worry they'll be stoked to be back home in front of 24k fans.
  10. Let's see how many pitchers we can burn through tonight with Freddy on the bump tomorrow.
  11. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) If we win more than one game against Minny at the Cell, I'll be stunned. We can't score 2-3 runs off f***ing Brian Matusz We seem to play down to our competition when playing s*** teams in the AL.
  12. 5 outs away from a series loss against the goddamn Orioles.
  13. Some pretty nice momentum going into the series tomorrow.
  14. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 07:59 PM) I actually think it will - the O's are a very, very bad team You could have fooled me these past three days.
  15. Don't worry folks. Our red hot offense will be back out there soon.
  16. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 07:55 PM) Hes gonna bb a run in Who are you referring to?
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) It would be funny if that happened, but really there's no reason to lose tonight. We should dominate Matusz tonight. Not the best prediction.
  18. It's gotta be tough to have to pitch a shutout every night. Absolutely no margin for error.
  19. Paulie told Kenny that we don't need anyone else to add to the roster. Ha!
  20. QUOTE (TomPickle @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 07:29 PM) God I love that show. And I'll be the first to say it. I'm glad we traded for Jackson.
