Watched a lot of stuff on netflix instant watch over the past week... Food Inc: Very good documentary on food. A must see. Quarantine: Surprisingly solid horror film. Barry Lyndon: Finally got around to seeing it. Very long but fantastic. Best in Show: Seen this one quite a few times already and love it. Screened it for my daughter who's never seen it before. Garden State: Awesome. The Wackness: Pretty meh although I liked the soundtrack and Ben Kinglsey's character. Also, have tickets for Avatar at Navy Pier Imax tonight.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Dec 28, 2009 -> 09:56 AM) 16-0 means nothing unless you win the Super Bowl. See: Patriots, New England, 2007. You do what you think is best for your team. Screw what the other teams think. If they had taken care of business, they wouldn't be in the position they are in (as Kyyle said). This was a chance at history and they said meh. It was a slap in the face to all their die hard fans. Hopefully with all this added rest they'll turn out like that one Shannahan led Broncos team and exit the playoffs early.

A chance at history and you decide "who cares"? Weak sauce from the Colts organization. Everyone remembers the undefeated Dolphins. No one remembers the 1978 Super Bowl winner. I mean what the heck is the bye weak for? How much rest do these guys need? And since when is Manning known as injury prone?

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 12:28 PM) George Michael of "The SPorts Machine" passed away. I used to stay up past my bedtime to watch him on Sundays when I was a kid. Back in the 80s I'd stay up to watch him, hoping I'd catch some Raiders highlights since we didn't have cable.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 09:58 AM) The Republicans insisted every word be read on the Senate floor actually. Pity none of them stuck around to take notes. And I am fairly certain this is the only bill in the history of the Senate where everyone didn't have an opportunity to read it word for word.

QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Dec 23, 2009 -> 01:42 PM) Yeah so about the Avatar everyone was talking about earlier... I bought my tickets on Fandango which cost me 13 bucks a pop and I assumed I was buying them for the 3d IMAX but instead I just got it in 3d...I am spoiled so that f***ing killed it for me... I love IMAX...I WANT IMAX...I PAYED FOR IMAX. It took the movie down a notch for me without it,sorry but it did. How stupid. Why would they even screen it if it's not in 3D?

Thanks Kap and same to you all. Now if we could somehow get this to really happen.

Leave it to an unemployed conservative to root for a douche that received a $73M bonus for doing nothing to better society.

If you hated Phantom Menace you must watch the review on this site. It's broken up into segments.

So my son comes up to me and pisses on my leg and I'm like WTF!

Damn that sucks. I'd be infuriated too. And what a waste of a #1 pick Deangelo was for me too. I was down about 30 going into the Sunday night game with him and Ryan Longwell going and my opponent was done. Was praying for a nice 10 point performance from Longwell (got me 1 stinking point) and a decent game from Deangelo. But of course he blew any chance I had pretty quickly. Can't believe I made it that far with him as my #1 pick. What a bust compared to his 2008 numbers.

f*** Chris Henry.

I really think the latest Moby is some of the best electronic music ever.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Dec 22, 2009 -> 08:28 AM) But you see, it is cold precisely because of global warming. Don't you get it? Wow. You must be a scientist.

I have too many to list here to be honest. I should probably get some meds.

How do you find that out? Do you ask them?

We had a presentation at work on new software that we acquired. They had a guy doing a demo of the software remotely as we watched his computer screen being projected in one of our conference rooms. Whenever he switched over to his web browser I kept getting so annoyed that his bookmark tool bar had the full unedited names saved so that he could only save about 5 links on the toolbar. It took everything in me to not interrupt and tell him that he could edit those to make them shorter so that instead of things like "Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more" he could change it to "Amazon". My wife does the same thing and I periodically get on her laptop to shorten her links.

I thought it was excellent. Also, just finished watching Seven Pounds. Solid.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 01:01 AM) All the dollar bills in my wallet are arranged with the largest ones in the back, all with the presidents front and up. Whenever I had a cash register all my bills would be in the register like this too. Likewise. And is anything more annoying than getting change at a store that consists of out of order, half backwards and upside down bills?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 01:19 PM) Expands coverage by 30+ million people I guess forcing people to buy private insurance is covering more people. But what about those that can't afford it?

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 10:20 AM) The far left is pissed, the right is pissed. Yea, this a good bill. You know it's good when both sides hate it. That means it's right in the middle. That's a pretty generic statement. Can you actually point out some positives of the Senate bill?
-
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 10:16 AM) I've said it from the very beginning, this is a multi-step process. I'm a bit surprised the public option got pulled, but not shocked. I'd be ecstatic with the Senate version of the bill....if I were the CEO of Aetna. No wonder insurance stocks were through the roof.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 10:14 AM) baby steps. And that's change we can believe in. *rolls eyes*

Are we even trying?
