Sox Looking at Ted Lilly
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) I don't like the idea of having them each be "White Sox Stater 5.5" I wish El Duque were reliable, but he's not, so I say go shopping. Like I've said before, if KW goes shopping, it won't be for a 5th, he'll go for something better. ... and i don't mean a 5th of vodka

Sox Looking at Ted Lilly
QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) or you could throw them half and half on the day one of them starts, just a thought I don't like the idea of having them each be "White Sox Stater 5.5" I wish El Duque were reliable, but he's not, so I say go shopping. Like I've said before, if KW goes shopping, it won't be for a 5th, he'll go for something better.

I'd prefer to see Lilly as the 5th stater, with El Duque coming out of the pen. It'd be nice to have that insurance, since B-Mac is obviously not ready.

Terry Francona called Ozzie...
QUOTE(dmbjeff @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) i think what francona wanted to know was who would START the all star game, but here are a list of my all star starting pitchers buehrle garland colon bonderman clement halladay rogers mussina santana maybe one or two of these guys might not make it, but both of our guys will I think becasue of both his age, and the fact that he leads the majors in ERA (under 2!) Kenny Rogers' Roasters is going to start and go 2. The fact that he is over 40 and won't have many more chances weighs into that. I don't think Buehrle or Garland should start over him... but they should both make it.

THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!
Let's hope Shingo is turning the corner and getting his goods back. We need him! We're taking care of the ones we're supposed to. FINALLY!

6/22/05 Game Thread KC vs. Sox
QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:10 PM) to be serious it is not stupid as you may think...a pitcher that gives up no runs in one game is likely to give up 6 runs in another.....assuming 18 innings pitched and a 3.00 era... yes, this might be true... but if he gives up zero earned runs, he is more likely to break out and not "revert back to the norm" which I believe is the theory that you are going for. Let's say its the last game of the year, and Buehrle has a 2.65 ERA. Do you want him to give up 14 or 15 earned runs so he can get back to his norm? That's stupid. That's like saying, well, Garland has 12 wins, I hope he doesnt win anymore games, so he can get back to his norm. You're an idiot whitesoxmanager

Buehrle is amazing... he's the most consistent pitcher I have ever seen, and a workhorse. Oh, and he's only 26!

Sorry guys, I'm pretty new at this, and was wondering how I get a picture to appear in my signature? I've tried pasting and have messed around with the IMG button, but don't know how to put in a URL that won't just refer to an entire page and not work. thanks!

Jabroni, thanks for the play-by-play... I'm stuck at work, and this Gamecast s*** is too slow, and I can't use my speakers. It's appreciated.

The Score - 670 Radio
don't worry, Sox-r-us... the kings of the webboards just freak out when their little equilibrium is messed up. Don't worry about them.

Time to make a deal for a 5th starter?
Uhm, I don't think Clemens is the new Randy Johnson. Compare their ERA's for christs sake! Clemens is barely above a 2!

Holy cow, one thing you have to love about this team is they find a way. They couldn't touch Grienke, and last year we would have been praying for a homerun, but this year is so much different. This team just seems to put the runs up when they need them. They are very opportunistic. Let's keep this up!
