  1. omg NBA 2k13 on the Android is flawless. How is this possible??
  2. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 01:47 PM) I had an extremely vivid dream last night that D Rose came back and scored like 50 points. Waking up was a bummer. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) Nah man, you're just seeing the future.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 01:17 PM) Seems like that team will be Miami ESPN wrote that article, so of course they said Miami, but in the same article they pretty much pointed out that it'd be impossible for Miami to afford it and it likely won't be them.
  4. I don't get why there is such a disconnect in here. Everyone immediately goes to poverty and how poor people can't afford to eat healthy. Again, that's a completely incorrect statement. That's all I've been saying. Grabbing fast food is a cop out.
  5. I just bought a Super Big Gulp of Diet Coke. See? I can make dumb decisions, too! However, it's all about moderation, and that's the lone badness I will enjoy today.
  6. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 03:01 PM) Moderation is the key. A slice or 2 of your favorite pizza pie is ok. Soloing a large and drinking a 2 liter of coke with it is all on u when u gain weight. Don't blame anyone else. Preach.
  7. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 03:00 PM) Hey now, for a long part of history being fat was considered a sign of wealth. In France they call Homer a gourmand. Thankfully for me skinny is in these days. ...and wicked glasses.
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:55 PM) yeah I wasn't clear there. Not a universally bad person, but accusing them of having some bad trait, making it about a moral failing. It is a moral failing to be lazy and get fat as f*** and eat s*** food just because it tastes good and is easier.
  9. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) The skinniest I've ever been is when I was broke. Being fat is a choice. You can be skinny and unhealthy.
  10. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:46 PM) When is calling someone lazy something other than an insult? You're jumping all over the place. I can call someone lazy as an insult and still not think they are a bad person. My fatass sister is lazy - she eats like a slob and never works out. I don't think she's a bad person, though.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:44 PM) You tell those poor people You tell em! You should fix on down to those poor people and fix em straight! Thank you for your zero contribution. Well done.
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:41 PM) Where I am going with this is that the premise about half of these arguments are hilariously faulty. People keep claiming that its food deserts, or not enough money, or not enough time. None of that is the reason why Americans are dieing faster. The reason Americans die faster is that we make stupid decisions that cost us years off our lives. Whether it be eating habits, drug habits, risky behavior, it all adds up to the fact that Americans die quicker than counter parts. Best thing you've ever posted.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:38 PM) So, the answer to solving the obesity epidemic is shouting at poor people to stop being stupid and decide to stop being poor. Can someone draft this up so I can send it to Congress? They could certainly stop being stupid, show me where fast food for every meal is cheaper than shopping at the grocery? Show me these statistics, please.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) Yeah it's really my money and skin color that taught me that eating at McDonalds is not healthy. You're clearly best buds with Morgan Spurlock - you guys hang out and burn $100 bills every weekend.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:33 PM) words about not believing that white people don't understand poor people There's no argument to be made that buying fast food five nights a week is cheaper than loading up on produce and planning meals - for anyone.
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:23 PM) Yeah, it's generally easier to eat unhealthy food than to eat healthy food. A thing being easier than another thing means that more people will choose the easier thing. That doesn't necessarily make them bad people. I never said it makes them bad people - just lazy. lazy = lazy
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:11 PM) I literally cringed reading this. This is that bulls*** liberal "everyone is a stupid moron that can't think for themselves so we need to protect them" mentality. This.
  18. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:10 PM) People tend to resent being told they're dumb, lazy assholes. The truth hurts. I used to eat like that, too. I made lifestyle changes a couple years, am saving money, and am the healthiest I've ever been and enjoying real food. I still go out to eat occasionally, but fast food and crap like that? No thank you, sir. Anyone can do it, and anyone can do it on a budget. The lazy "it's too expensive" or "it's too hard" excuses are just that, lazy. And incorrect.
  19. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:05 PM) Except for the added extra step. Id rather just pay the $1 per lb extra or whatever the cost is. Yes, you can afford it, but you aren't going to pay an extra $1 per lb extra or whatever because you aren't going to cook for yourself but rather bill people money and watch Netflix and have Pizza Hut or Chinese food or whatever arrive at the door. Your personal habits don't relate to 99.9999% of the world out there, and you are stubborn. People feeding their families McDonald's are f***ing insane.
  20. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 02:05 PM) I'm not saying that you can't eat healthy for cheap, but it's much easier to eat unhealthy for cheap. You can leave out the cheap part. It's much easier to eat unhealthy period. People are lazy, but the excuses I'm reading are all bulls***.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 01:57 PM) This is how I cook with any ground beef. So there's no reason to get 96/4 over 80/20 was my point. I don't worry about that s*** with Boca crumbles, of course.
  22. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 01:39 PM) I dont work so I can go home, pretend im on top chef, then pretend on im on kitchen nightmares, so I can save $5 a day. Like I said, some of us find that enjoyable. Plus, there's a tv in my kitchen.
  23. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 01:33 PM) In ground beef especially, in my experience, the leaner you go, the more expensive you go. 85% lean is cheap, 92% is more, 96% is even more, and buffalo is like $7-8 a pound. At McDonalds, on the other hand, you can feed a family of 4 off the dollar menu for $8-$12. Someone who's happy eating the beef McDonald's cooks should not worry about only shopping for lean beef. BTW, you can cook off the fat of ground beef by straining and rinsing in hot water.
  24. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 10, 2013 -> 01:17 PM) $20 at mcdonalds is probably getting you 500-1000 calories per person. Thats a ton of food. The problem is that those people then go and eat more food through out the day, ending up in the 3k calorie range. If they actually just ate fast food reasonably it probably wouldnt even be a problem. Its just some people have either no understanding or no care about how burning calories work and the actual amounts you need to survive. A cheeseburger is 300 calories. That means for less than $10 you can get 2k calories. Fast food is all sugars and leaves people as hungry or hungrier than they were prior to eating mere minutes later.
