QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 4, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) Signs is summed up in one scene. Morose mashed potato eating. That scene is hilarious. However, the movie is f***ing awesome. Hater.

2013 Video Game Thread
So, now that I have a tablet that is the bees knees, I discovered that Rockstar released not only one of my favorite games of all time in Max Payne on Android, but also Grand Theft Auto 3, which is another favorite game of mine of all-time. I downloaded both, and cannot believe how smoothly they run, and how gorgeous the graphics are... also, the games are just a blast to play and the controls on the screen actually work and make sense. They just released Vice City, too, but I'll wait to DL that until I've re-defeated GTA 3. Man, these games are all great and take me back. It's amazing how I still remember all the secrets in GTA 3. But anyway, if you have a 7-10" tablet or iPad, holy f*** is it fun to relive these games. The GTA 3 10th Anniversary Android version has better graphics than the original PS2 version. That's nuts.

2013 TV Thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 4, 2013 -> 09:59 AM) The cheapest way is to sign up for HBO for a month and watch them on HBOGO within your cable billing cycle. When you're done, cancel the subscription. That would be less than 20 bucks, and probably with promotions like 10. I adore HBOGO. I could never be without HBO. I guess that's why I just call Comcast every 6 months and demand it be free for another 6 months. All this talk of Band of Brothers - it's sooo amazing. I agree with you all. When The Pacific aired, I'd hoped it'd be up to snuff, but something was missing. But yeah, Band of Brothers - amazing. I've recently started a show on HBOGO (I use my tablet at the gym during cardio) that I've never watched before and most of you have probably never heard of, call "The Sopranos". Haha, jk, obviously you've heard of it. I can't believe I've never watched this - I'm like 9 episodes in and hooked.

There is nothing about Jon Gruden's coaching record that says anyone should want him. People just see him on tv and drool and say "give me" because they are familiar.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 4, 2013 -> 10:04 AM) Well, part of my statement was new blood. The other was oldies but goodies. Plus, Gruden isnt exactly old I don't get why everyone wants Jon Gruden. The guy's a complete moron on MNF, and his career coaching record was basically the same as Lovie's (95-81). Sure, he won the big game, but he was nothing special over his last 6 seasons as a head coach after taking over Dungy's ready-to-win team in 2002. In fact, after winning the Super Bowl with that hot-to-trot roster, the Bucs were 45-51 over those 6 seasons. WOW SIGN ME UP.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 4, 2013 -> 09:38 AM) I would be happy if Emery stuck with the NFL offensive minds, and if he brought in a Gruden/Holmgren/Cowher, that would work too. I really don't understand this mindset. The NFL has changed more in the past 5 seasons than any other time over the last 3 decades, and people want to bring in old men who have been out of the game the entire time? New blood, please.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 4, 2013 -> 09:32 AM) Prepare to be dissapointed. Emery isn't even looking at (at least not yet) any of my top candidates (e.g., Holmgren & Reid). Thank goodness your top candidates are nowhere near anything I want the Bears to be a part of - the next great head coach is out there, I'm hoping Emery finds him.

QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 01:59 PM) Don't remember where I saw it, but I believe Microsoft is doing a similar thing with the new X-Box. All games are gonna have a key to be able to play it similar to computer software. There would still be a used games market, but you would have to purchase a new "key" for a few bucks to be able to play the game. This is like the concept EA is using on their games that are played online. You only get one online code, so if you buy the game used, you have to pay $10 to take it online.- Time to revisit the 2nd Amendment?

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 11:20 AM) So if were not going to eliminate gun violence, and we've given up on that goal, what's the point of even taking them away? What's that often cited average gun deaths in the USA? 11k? At best where are we going to get that number in our lifetimes no matter what we do, maybe cut it in half? Even that sounds a bit delusional. So yea, we cede our 2nd amendment right (one of the most critical rights anyone can have) to watch 5.5 thousand people a year get killed from heart disease instead of gun violence because that makes us feel better about ourselves. Why is a right written into the constitution before the train was invented "one of the most critical rights anyone can have"?- 2012-2013 NFL Thread

You've really done a fine job with this city. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/b...0,6954147.story There is such a gigantic disconnect here.
