QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) In related news, MegaUpload was shut down and their employees arrested. In other words, we've just been given a nice real-world example of why SOPA isn't even needed if they go ahead and enforce laws already in place. Of course, it helps that Megaupload had some servers in the US.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) PG Mike Conley (Mem - PG) SG Brandon Knight (Det - PG,SG) G Russell Westbrook (OKC - PG) SF Carmelo Anthony (NY - SF,PF) PF Carlos Boozer (Chi - PF,C) F DeMarcus Cousins (Sac - PF,C) C Serge Ibaka (OKC - PF,C) C Byron Mullens (Cha - C) Util Evan Turner (Phi - SG,SF) Util Mario Chalmers (Mia - PG) BN Marvin Williams (Atl - SF) BN Kemba Walker (Cha - PG,SG) BN Joakim Noah (Chi - PF,C) With DeMarcus Cousins on your roster, you certainly shouldn't be worrying about turnovers. That's a sunk category. Sadly, looking at the rest of your roster, so is field goal percentage.

SOXOBAMA's opinion: Payton > Jordan

QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:52 PM) http://basketball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/nba/22963/5 Your league isn't public, Hence I cannot see. Either way, man, I love Russell Westbrook for fantasy. Do not trade him for any SG unless said player's name is Kobe.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:44 PM) I'd trade him off my fantasy team right now for a top shooting guard - the turnovers are killing me. Any good fantasy team loses turnovers because the best players have the highest usage rates. You cannot win a fantasy basketball league while winning turnovers. Forget that category. Russell's been blowing up lately, too. The nest is yet to come. Also, pick up Kemba if no one else has yet.

SOXOBAMA's opinion: Payton > Jordan

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:14 PM) So i guess your answer is a no that you haven't seen him played. You take trolling to a new level. I've seen plenty of game film. The best running back of all-time in football (which he isn't) can't hold Jordan's jock. Jordan is > all. Forever. -
QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) When the Thunder ownership group handed Westbrook his check, he spun around with it and turned it over. That'd be funny if he weren't a completely amazing player.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 12:38 AM) Seeing as there was no thread for this yet... I loved the clip of how a number of Congressman said they "weren't enough of a nerd" to understand SOPA and need to "get some nerds in here." Or as Jon Stewart called them "experts." That made me laugh and also hate my country all at once.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) They actually remind me of each other a lot. Check out this synopsis of Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. It's spot on for a lot of points: http://www.cracked.com/article_19671_the-g...=feature_module We cut to a JAMES BOND TITLE SEQUENCE ON MUSHROOMS. That made me lose it.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:05 PM) have you ever seen Walter play? Have you ever seen Jordan dominate? This is dumb. Everyone can have their own opinion. You have yours. I'll take Jordan given he's universally accepted as the best to ever play his sport. -

yeah, i'll take Jordan -
How about this. Anyone worried about the loss of Ronnie Brewer in a potential Ray Allen deal that's never going to happen is patently nuts. Let's all drop it. Go Bulls.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) This thread is almost as much of a pissing contest as the NFL thread. Jeez. "I think so and so is better than so and so." "You're an idiot. So and so is (insert absolute here)." "NO, you're an idiot." Feel free to actually contribute to the thread. Absolutely nothing like what you detail above is actually happening. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) The NBA is funny because fans who don't have the slightest clue can still think that they know what they're talking about. Oh, please enlighten everyone.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) I personally think Brewer is one of the best defenders on the Bulls and Id rather not give him up if there is a different way to acquire talent. Sure, he's a very good defender. However, he's damn near a net-0 on the offensive side of the ball, so he brings little value to that whole part of the game where spreading the floor and scoring is important.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 12:24 PM) Celtics would do that in a heartbeat. Korver + Brewer + 2-3 second round picks for Allen. This lineup: Rose - Watson Allen - Hamilton Deng - Butler Boozer - Gibson Noah - Asik That's what I'm SAYIN.
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 12:18 PM) I disagree. The goofball was nowhere to be found in that movie, and that is what I think of as his typical character. He plays an eccentric in everything. His character in Social Network was pretty much the same as in Zombieland. Milk, I almost posted the Michael Cera thing.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 12:13 PM) Not this year. I'll be damned if you aren't right.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Russell Westbrook has signed a five-year, $78 million-plus max extension with Oklahoma City, league sources tell Y! Sports. Story soon on Y! Thunder are locked and loaded.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 11:52 AM) Id actually consider Boozer for KG because getting out from that Boozer contract is valuable. There's no way the Celtics would do that. Forget KG. Ray Allen is all that matters.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 11:50 AM) I mean, if it's Korver + Brewer + that pick to balance the salaries...the Bulls lose some shooting and some defense as well. Can you convince me that Ray Allen would be a huge upgrade and not just a small one? Huge is an understatement. Allen is a conditioned freak and completely lights out from 3 and efficient as all hell. He hasn't lost anything the last few seasons.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 11:44 AM) I really don't think I'd give up that Bobcats pick for Allen. I think you're on drugs. Then again, I like the idea of the Bulls winning a Championship this year.

Danny Ainge came out and said he'd be open to trading the Big 3 given the team's slow start. I'd imagine Thibs would be pushing for the acquisition of either of his boys. Kevin Garnett - 1 year @ $21.2 F*CK NO Paul Pierce - 3 years @ $15.3 F*CK NO Ray Allen - 1 year @ $10 YES PLEASE So, what does it cost to bring in Ray Allen? He's still a perfect fit which would allow Rip to be a super sub off the bench at SF/SG/PG? Honestly, the only deal for the Bulls that doesn't hurt us in the frontcourt would be Korver + Brewer, which is basically a net nothing for the Celtics, but they don't add any salary beyond this year. The Bulls could definitely make it worthwhile for the Celtics with the Bobcats' pick they own that gets more valuable each year, and a few of their own. If you have to toss in Butler, do it. Oh Lord, it'd be too perfect.
