  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 3, 2011 -> 03:21 PM) Pff, I played for months with the same injury in college. Numbing shot and an ankle brace will solve the issue. You played college ball?
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 3, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) lol I would think one's first reaction when reading that someone else on this board had a personal loss on 9/11 would not be to LOL. Dude, wtf.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 3, 2011 -> 02:08 PM) Someone page ptac Or Wikipedia He needs rest that he's not going to get. Hopefully we don't see it worsen to grade 3 (complete tear). That there would suck.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) But usually they'd still pull together on defense. You can't blame last night on the defense. Those shots the Hawks were raining in were mostly ridiculous. Sure, there were a few cheapos in the paint, but that's going to happen.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) I'm sure they recorded every single thing they did from the moment the helicopters landed. Of course. There's no reason not to in this day and age. How much we need to see of it I don't know. It'll be interesting in 20 years when the video of the raid leaks.
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 3, 2011 -> 12:44 PM) The burial is not something I'd like to see and they may not have even taped that. The White House confirmed that the burial at sea was taped.
  7. New Satellite Images Show Downed Helo at Osama Hideout
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 3, 2011 -> 12:11 PM) Steve, what exactly is that? Is it a real reenactment of the fight? It's telling me that it's private or something. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 3, 2011 -> 12:11 PM) Says it's private, unfortunately. Sorry, looks like NMA took it off of YouTube. Here it is from another site. The Chinese are hilarious.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2011 -> 11:59 AM) No. LOL!
  10. Heard that on the radio this morning. Nothing like having a 50% off sale on wins needed to make the HOF.
  11. Supposedly Jake's final rehab start is Thursday, putting him on track for a return sometime next week. Can he hit?
  12. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 2, 2011 -> 11:02 PM) Who cares?! WIN GAMES!
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) Guys, you're all monsters, how can you celebrate the death of even on man, even if he was a monster?!?!? Guys, you're a bunch of crazy liberal idiots, how can you not celebrate the death of this monster?!!?!? I love this post so much. I hate where this thread has gone. We should really all be happy. Let people celebrate how they want (that's the big issue here? really?). This was a great victory for the morale of the United States and much of the world. Let's just sit back and enjoy it a bit!
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 2, 2011 -> 08:45 PM) If you cant see how this will be used by,a terrorist, than there is nothing else to say. In my recruitment video, Id show a picture of dead civilians and then US people cheering and shouting. Propaganda isnt about the truth, its about what I can make the truth Regardless it isnt about the terrorists, its about us. I thought we were better, I thought we came from a nation that feels the suffering of all of those who suffer. Maybe we are no better. But that doesnt mean I cant strive to be better. Then our reactions to killing Osama bin Laden make no difference. You can just pick any event, hell, pick a Presidential rally and then show the dead civilians. Your point is completely off.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 2, 2011 -> 04:22 PM) I'm anxious to see how Rose's ankle and Boozer's feet are tonight. Rose should look fine. I'm worried about Boozer because turf toe doesn't normally go away in four days.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 2, 2011 -> 04:43 PM) Official photo from the White House briefing room yesterday. Wow, Hillary looks like she's going to vomit.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 2, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) Is this a fitting celebration? Wow, Slav. You are right. College kids getting drunk. You could tell a dozen college kids that an asteroid nearly hit our planet until Bruce Willis went up and nuked it from within and they'd drink to celebrate. You could tell them you stayed at a Motel 6 and they'd offer you a shot. What I saw there was people holding American flags, chanting USA, and singing the star spangled banner. There's always going to be a couple bad seeds in a crowd (though none in that crowd that you seem to believe offers definitive proof of your position), but what I see there is peaceful jubilation and a really old boom box. No violence. no crime being committed. Lots of American flags. HOW TERRIBLE!
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 2, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) Kinda off topic: Anyone really felt the urge to play Call of Duty? Oh very much so.
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 2, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) extraordinarily satisfied and happy with this obviously....but im gonna drop in my 2cents about the celebration thing and then (hopefully) not say another word about it Like I said, I'm very happy about this. An unreal amount of internal satisfaction, pride for our country, for our troops, and a sense of certainty that justice has finally come. I was a bit surprised at some (not all) of the celebration last night, not because people were celebrating a man's death (I am unbelievably happy he is dead) but more the manner in which people went about it. As I watched last night, there were people simply going crazy, as if they were at college game day and the camera panned over them. It looked as if they were going crazy, and gettin drunk simply for the purpose of going crazy in getting drunk. It was like they had an excuse to go nuts and looked for a camera to get their faces on. These people, I don't believe, must have truly understood the emotions of 9-11. 9-11 strikes an emotion truly deep inside. When I found out he was dead, I shed a tear. I thought about all those emotions from that day, my friends in Afghanistan defending our country, my family members who have served our country. It was the same sort of joy you get watching a family member get married, or seeing a veteran get honored at a football game. Quite different some of the people I saw who were acting like they just caught some Mardi Gras beads I know people celebrate differently, but you can't tell me that the people you see between 30-35 seconds in the video below aren't acting like ass clowns who don't truly get this thing. http://youtu.be/QQCoWVBDarU#t=1m52s Roll tide? are you kidding me? It appeared to me that the majority of people who celebrated understood this, and I didnt mind their celebration. But there were certainly a select few idiots who are, and always will be idiots. People may rip me for this post, but thats fine. I'll continue to wear my USA hat today with pride and celebrate appropriately with those who truly remember what it was like almost 10 years ago In every group there are bound to be idiots. Making a big deal out of said idiots is where you wind up just looking silly.
  20. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 2, 2011 -> 02:35 PM) I'm loving these posts in the last couple of pages. This is some good stuff. I was 16 when it happened and we were practicing for intramural football during homeroom. We came back to our class and the whole school was silent. For a few minutes, we were completely oblivious to what had gone down. I remember walking past other classrooms and noticing that every student and teacher was staring in awe at their TV's. It's ridiculous to see people arguing whether or not Osama bin Laden was as bad as Hitler Who cares? The fact is that this is a time for all of us to come together, not necessarily as a celebration, but just to feel that sense of unity and maybe even relief. Some people are having more fun with it than others, and yes, some things are over the top. But this is a once-in-a-lifetime event that really has the potential to bring us together and heal some old wounds. I think we should enjoy this feeling while it lasts. I was 18 and working for MCI (taking night classes my first semester). I was informed as it was happening while on the phone on the East Coast with someone trying to sell them long-distance. Obviously the building closed soon thereafter since it's hard to sell long distance during such an event. I was glued to the television and and with my family the next few days. It was very, very surreal, and obviously very, very awful.
  21. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 2, 2011 -> 02:27 PM) I never said I could make a compelling argument that they are the same thing. I said I could make a compelling argument why some one dancing on the street over a soldiers death was similar to some one dancing on the street over Osama's death. If a soldier killed your family (accidentally) and then he was killed, Im sure there are people that would dance in the street. It doesnt matter what the intention is, it matters what the end result is. Both men caused the death of innocent lives. I am just not so bold as to blindly believe that I am on the right side. For all I know, we are the ones going to hell. Its easy cheer when you have always been the majority, it is much harder to cheer when you are in the minority and you can remember (not personally but historically) when people were cheering the death of your people. You really should use the quote button. That was a good recommendation.
