  1. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 11:16 AM) WTF?? Everything I read said the Ravens called the office, but the Bears didn't. Why is it so hard for the true story to come out? If Newsome is adamant that no deal was consummated because he didn't t call Bussert, then hell no I don't give 'em that 4th rounder. Very interesting. But clearly, the Bears' front office once again proves how moronic they are. Luckily, it appears that they made the first pick in round one. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 11:17 AM) No no no, that's a quote from Newsome from 2002 or 2003 when they did the same thing to Minnesota. That.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 11:10 AM) Minnesota? You mean Baltimore? Whatever yeah. I was rolling.
  3. The Ravens, while acknowledging the trade was agreed upon, contended it was not made official because they didn't speak with league official Joel Bussert. "The deal was not consummated," general manager Ozzie Newsome said at Baltimore's headquarters. "A deal is not a deal until I talk to Joel Bussert, and I never talked to Joel Bussert." So what the f*** is the difference here, asshole? Go f*** yourself.
  4. The more I think about it, the Bears had better f***ing not give Minnesota that 4th rounder.
  5. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 10:05 AM) Honestly, I think they probably found out last minute that KC wasn't going to take Carimi and that's why they didn't pull the trigger. Ravens got screwed and the Bears blamed it on miscommunication. I don't see how the Ravens are going to get s*** out of this...it sucks what happened and it's bad business, but verbally agreeing on something isn't ironclad. The Bears decided their 4th rd pick was more valuable than their word. A caller on the radio pointed out that the Ravens were the team to cause the Vikings to miss two picks a few years back. F*ck the Ravens.

    2011 TV Thread

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:56 AM) I thought it was pretty solid, but I think it's so lame that they have to reach out to other guest actors to keep people interested. I'd be fine if they didn't bring anyone in. Bring in a nobody character or two and let Andy, Dwight, Darrell, etc fight for the top spot. I don't think Carrell carried the show all by himself. I also thought they should have ended the show as Michael walked away. That felt like the proper ending. I didn't need the 10 second bit after the commercial. Michael Scott has been an annoyance on that show the last 3 seasons or so. They bring in a huge group of guest actors to throw their hat in the ring as the next boss since clearly DeAngelo Vickers isn't going to work out. I absolutely loved Dwight leaning into Jim and saying, "uh oh" as Vickers lost his s*** with the cake. Anyway, clearly none of the "newbs" wins out (Will Arnett has a new pilot with NBC and Christina Applegate next season, Ray Romano, Jim Carrey [wow, nice work keeping that one quiet, NBC!], and Ricky Gervais won't be taking the job), so I'd expect Jim or Andy to be the next head of "The Office". I dunno, I'm excited for post-Michael Office. Either way, nothing really matters as long as the funniest show on television, "Parks & Rec", stays so impossibly hilarious each episode!

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) Justified has been stellar this season. It has, though I'm really pissed about this new development that got Dickie out of prison. I was really jacked about the way that story was ending. I'm sure Dickie and Doyle are both going down in the finale (please no cliffhanger).
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:04 AM) Can some of you guys who watch the NBA a heckuva lot more than me give me a realistic assessment of what to expect in our next series? The Bulls would have swept the Hawks in the season series if not for an awful 2nd half collapse. The Bulls have a huge edge on paper.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 07:55 AM) It appears Baltimore still got the player they wanted, but leave it to the Bears to be unaware of draft rules. I'm surprised they showed up at the right building. It sounds like our 4th mind wind up in Baltimore anyway to save face. That would really suck, we need as many bodies as we can handle. As for the first rounder, the Bears did exactly what I wanted them to do. They got themselves a big boy to guard Jay's blind side. Keep it up.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 11:48 AM) What the hell does Cam Newton have that Tebow didnt have? They both have terrible mechanics, havent operated in a pro-style offense and were running QB's. Newton wasnt even as good as Tebow. But Newton is black so he could be McNabb or Vick with his speed.
  11. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) Weren't we all waiting for the Ozzie-drama to take the focus off the players? It's like clockwork.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) Thoughts? You did a great job... cool and original and probably took FOREVER.
  13. If the Bears don't draft O-Line with their top pick, I murder someone.
  14. Dwyane Wade and everything Miami Heat is just so vile.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 02:06 AM) I've been posting here for years. And some usernames are easy to, like, know the meaning of. Rowand44? That's pretty easy to figure out. Can somebody explain to me what a Kalapse is? Or like a Knightni? Is he a Knight Rider fan? Was does Tru mean? He didn't pick those letters for nothing. What does JPN mean? What the hell does Jeckle mean? lol. I mean he's not here anymore. Maybe somebody knows? I want everyone to explain their user names in which the meaning is not obvious. I've been obsessed with this for years. I know that Knightni is a reference to the Knights who say NI!
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 04:42 PM) I feel like selling low on Seabrook is just a bad idea. I think it's all about cap space and flexibility, but no one is advocating giving him away.
  17. I feel like this article/story appears each season just like the Carlos Zambrano controlling his temper article/story.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) I hate to say it, but you have to shop Seabrook if you can. Sh*t, I'd be happy if we moved Seabs, honestly.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) Great cover on the post: Cover I see everyone loves the Soriano signing already.
  20. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 10:53 AM) The birth certificate was signed by the doctor 4 days after his birth. Clearly he was quickly shuffled from another country into Hawaii by a group of Muslim extremists who forced a doctor at gun point to sign it, in hopes of one day rising him to power to lead the American Islam revolution! I hate your signature. Jinx times infinity.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 10:42 AM) This is why they didn't bother. Yeah. I'd assumed this release would do nothing to stop those who claim he was not a natural citizen.
  22. Carlos Boozer has been diagnosed with turf toe after feeling something pop during Tuesday's win over the Pacers.
  23. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 08:13 AM) OMG! Obama was born in the US!! Here I thought all along that he wasnt. White House Releases Obama's Birth Certificate I love the official White House tweet and the annoyance it conveys: Obama's long form birth certificate released so that America can move on to real issues that matter to our future http://goo.gl/fNmdR
