QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2009 -> 05:40 PM) Of course not, but Texas has 5 hits up the middle or the opposite way. i would trade a choice draft pick for their hitting coach -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2009 -> 05:36 PM) As long as Greg Walker's not around when the new batch of players join the majors, that's all that matters. feldman is feasting on the outside part of the plate. do you see anyone trying to go the other way? -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 1, 2009 -> 08:06 AM) I guess we won't be fortunate enough to see his creepy, vampire-like mlb gameday photo this weekend. He reminds me of this guy, Richard Ramirez, the "Night Stalker" who terrorized LA in the 80s. -

Podsednik/Nix Recalled, Anderson to DL, Owens Demoted

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 1, 2009 -> 12:08 PM) Another thing to think about: given how much Ozzie likes to get his new toys into the lineup will Chris Getz get even a single start against a left handed pitcher this season now that Jayson Nix is around? i'll be very pissed if this is the case. Getz earned the starting 2b job in ST and has proven he deserved it so far this season. I hate all this matchup bulls*** w/LH and RH pitching. Getz needs to play, he needs to see more pitchers in this league so he can learn how to handle them. But you watch, Nix will hit a home run and he'll find himself in the lineup more and more. I hope this is our injury part of the season and not a season-long drama. Get well in May and be fully loaded come June. -
Great News For Canseco Haters

funny how all the accusations he made in his book are coming true. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 03:14 PM) I agree with him. He wasnt that good of a pitcher. Good thrower, yes, not a great pitcher. you're suggesting that pitching is one thing, when it's more than one thing. for some it's power (Ryan), for others, it's finesse (Maddox). Some great ones combine both (Pedro). But to me, it's all pitching. Ryan threw a pretty devastating curve, by the way. If all he ever had was a fastball he never would've gotten out of the minors.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 11:59 AM) Kids before the age of 7 are not worth it. You spend half of your time trying to entertain them. Unless they are really into it and watch the game at home it is a lost cause. Kids prior to 6 months are fine as they do nothing anyway. I agree with this. I've taken my kids (8 and 6) to quite a few stadiums and nothing compares to the fun they have at the Cell. That Fundamentals deck is really nice. It's a good excuse to get to the game early and they dig it. Great thread, thanks for the tips. Looking forward to my yearly pilgrimage now that I have the 411 on that breaded steak sandwich. Man that looks good... -

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) Dunno, but some of you may have jumped the gun a tad bit early on the Swish trade. Actually, yes, many of you did. Let this be a lesson learned. Now Pods (who I'm happy to see on the roster- as a backup...) and Owens will run down balls hit to center. Meanwhile everyone we got for Swisher who has 7 knocks is spitting in the face of that deal. Trading Swisher was the wrong move. I don't give two s***s about how much he was gonna make, how bad he struggled in his first year in a brand new city, what we got in return, at least for now is s***. With his versatility Swisher could cover for Dye, Quentin, Konerko, Anderwise, and even some of the clowns we've had throwing relief. In return we got absolutley nothing. As a fan of most KW moves, this gets an F-, even if Nick had 0 HR's instead of 7. i was cringing tonight watching him swat balls out of comerica. I wonder if the other shoe will fall...or if last year was just a really bad year for him and this deal, in the end, will go down as titanic s***. KW's had his share. 05 still buys him a lot of slack.

QUOTE (Linnwood @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) What exactly happened to BA today? I see Cowley is saying it is a right oblique. the thing that really blows is that it's a no activity type injury, you just have to be immobile and wait for it to heal. BA's timing had really come around - hope he can pick it back up. Worse, I hope he doesn't get stuck down in Charlotte during a rehab assignment.
