  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 05:38 PM) I can't believe I"m saying this, but I would much rather listen to a presidential debate than the White Sox continuing/ongoing debacle/fiasco. This team really is an embarassment. If they're going to lose, they might as well get blown out and roasted by the fans. No more games like the last two nights in Minny. boo-ya
  7. QUOTE (G&T @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 02:50 PM) Here's my only thought of objectiveness. I don't really know why I'm posting it here, but whatever. The Sox are built to win at home and the Twins are built to win in their home. Neither team is any damn good anywhere else. After 158 or so games these two teams are essentially tied for first place and it is now the very end of the season and the winner will be the one with the most wins in their home park. So for the love of God, win the next 4 or 5 games! this is actually one of the best posts i've read in the last 48 hous
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 04:40 PM) Paciorek is actually the one that came up with that.... i miss wimpy

  11. can someone embed a youtube clip so we can illuminate the unilluminated?
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 12:12 PM) This is a great title for a thread but the guys answered the thread question last night in blowing the 6-1 lead. It's over fellas. It's over. Our team laid down in Minnie. They couldn't sack up and get the one win, which is all we really needed. They answered the question in NY when they couldn't even f***ing split the series and in KC when they couldn't sweep against 3 Royals hack starters. You don't come back from what we did in Minnie. In an in or out thread, I am OUT. Cause the guys made the decision for me last night. Will I cheer and pray for the boys to pull it out? Sure. We ain't gonna win five in a row. I can guarantee that. Try looking at the series from an objective standpoint: the twins kicked their ass in game one - terribly start by vazquez doomed the Sox; in game 2 the sox kept it close but couldn't break through, losing by one run; 3rd game the twins relentless attack led to their rally and an extra inning win, by one run. So two of the three games were close, and this from an offense that is obviously sputtering and still trying to find some mojo after losing its number one offensive threat. The sox laid down in terms of our expectations, I won't argue with that. But looking at it from the outside, it was a hard fought series and close. I know my view of it is colored by the fact that I f***ing dreaded a sweep and lo and behold, they got swept.
  13. anxious to hear reports on his visit to the doctor today.
  14. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 12:03 PM) "forget it... he's rolling." actually, it's "He's on a roll"
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) Our chances of winning the division went out the window when we didn't sweep KC in KC and when we pissed down our leg in NY losing 3 instead of splitting. Bye bye, see ya next year. oh man, if you start bringing up games we should've won, the biggest that sticks out in my mind is the game against BAL that we had to resume on their field.
  16. QUOTE (Baines3 @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 11:59 AM) Aaah, I get the point of it now. it's why we called it San An"stone"io when I went to college there
  17. QUOTE (Texsox @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 04:58 AM) ding ding ding That begins and ends all discussion about September. In fact it so perfectly sums up this moment, I just don't want to open any other thread. yes, it really does make the point. all this crap about domes and the twins, it's just that, crap. We're missing our best player, badly.
  18. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 26, 2008 -> 11:00 AM) I'm finding it pretty hard to get enthused about any news right now. I am in such a friggin' depressive funk right now..... the clouds are parting for me -- i think it's the thought of being out of that god foresaken dome.
  19. it's funny - if there's some way the sox make it to a Wednesday playoff game the rotation is going to be SPENT
