  1. just what the doctor ordered - a trip to the toilet by danks.
  2. twins don't score with first and third and one out. shocking.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 03:03 PM) BA, as always, getting f***ed. i agree, he's earned some starts.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 01:41 PM) Tonight's game thread should be full of Jerry Owens supporters. I'm here! edit: i'm a whore for speed and athleticism. can't help it.
  5. he hangs that breaking ball too much for my liking. got away with one last night, too. still...he came right back with a 95mph heater that tied him up. That's macdougal.
  6. their starting pitching is just solid - slowey, perkins, blackburn and baker have just been very reliable. Which is why I see us going into the dome in about the same shape we're in now unless we go into the tank against the Angels, in which case we'll be looking up. What are we, like 1-5 in the dome this year? Would be sweet to exorcise some of those demons, but until I see it I just have to say I'm "cautiously" optimistic.
  7. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 12:36 PM) If you are called up after September 1st, you may only play in the playoffs if someone who was on the 25 man roster on Aug 31st is currently on the DL or no longer with the team. Then, the team can replace said player with any other current member of the 40 man roster, provided they were on the 40 man roster on Aug 31st. At least thats what I think the rule is thanks!
  8. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:14 AM) He actually looked like he calmed his pitching motion. He looked like he was really in control, save for a few pitches. If he is working on his pitching motion and wants to change to what he was showing us, I am all for it but is he available to go on the playoff roster, say he gets hot and starts pitching well?
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 09:41 PM) Is anybody getting worried that we're not grabbing the division by the balls? This Cleveland series is off to a s*** start. I had zero expectations of a win given the pitching matchup. Our hope should be that the rays continue to play well at home next weekend and lay the wood to the twins before we visit the dome of horror. edit: make that in two weeks plus, Adam Jones has made his return to BAL and that should help them be more competitive against the twins.
  10. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 11:01 PM) This was a very painful game to watch from very nice seats behind the White Sox dugout. I gotta stop choosing to go to games where we face pitchers like Halladay and Lee. Seeing 21 batters retired doesn't make a long (and difficult from the car's standpoint on the way back) road trip any more fun. At least I got some great pictures. were you the guy sitting next to the guy in the cubs shirt?
  11. can't remember the last time uribe started a game. thought he would be working in with crede more.
  12. QUOTE (BearSox @ Sep 1, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) No one said anything about trying to win the division with the September call-ups... however, they sure do make a difference and add a lot to the team. Just because they are backups doesn't mean they don't contribute. Kruk made a good point on BBTN about this, suggesting that adding a lot of guys to a playoff contender can be a real distraction.
  13. so the odds are we lose to cliff lee tomorrow and then will be tied for the division, having gained nothing on the twins going into the last 3 game series in their "monster" road trip.
  14. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Aug 31, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) he hits more HR, has a higher OPS, players a tougher position, more runs... the reality is, they are both having outstanding seasons. don't know about that
  15. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Aug 31, 2008 -> 12:26 PM) A basehit? Quentin has shown why he should be the MVP pretty much all season. That and his team is in first, while the Twins are trailing... and driving in a run. with two outs. I hate the guy but he's nails.
  16. justin morneau showing why he should probably be mvp.
