  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 11:41 AM) After hitting #'s 500, 600, and 700 with the White Sox, and coming home with 4 straight world series rings, a White Sox one. Nice! did you catch Stuey on the opening of the Emmy's last night? Pretty damn funny.
  2. Tigers enter the Jake red hot, but I think the pitching match ups favor the tribe: Rogers vs. Byrd Verlander vs. Westbrook Robertson vs. CC I think the Tigers have to sweep to have a shot at winning the division. I can't help but feel that the Tigers last chance to make the playoffs will come down to the last weekend in Chicago. The yankees have baltimore, toronto and tampa bay to finish out the season. They should cruise, but Detroit could pick up a game or two and be one back heading into the last weekend of play. While I have no love for cleveland, I would love to see the kitties get eliminated in Chicago...walk off on Sunday by Paulie would be nice, too.
  3. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 10:17 AM) Cleveland's. and it's a shame, especially with the way those fans shat on him when he returned.
  4. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 09:56 AM) And fortunately, baseball is the one major sport where Hall of Fame voting is to include character. So Jim should do quite well. but what uni does he go in with?
  5. does anyone have some idea of who's projected to be one of the top draft picks?
  6. The tigers are a shell of the team that came up short last season. Wonder how missing the playoffs is going to go over, followed by another powerhouse season by the lions.
  7. rodney didn't give up a run in 12 innings in August
  8. Cunning and guile vs. the hanging curve.
  9. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 05:08 PM) That was really cool. I'd kill for something like that on the Chicago Stadium. that place was sooo fantastic
  10. mags finally having the year we knew he could
  11. odds of garland's ERA staying under 5 after tonight?
  12. isn't there a game starting in like 4 minutes? come on, get over it!
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 08:36 AM) I'm not sure I could watch Sox games anymore if that sleazy prick LaRussa were running the club. He's the last guy I'd like to see take over for Ozzie. he is a prick, i'll give you that. But he's a great manager, there's just no two ways about it. I'd love to see him back in a Sox uniform.
  14. it's a shame he gets two pages worth of discussion on soxtalk...and i just contributed to it! s***!! it's just a terrible season, fellas. Let it go at that.
  15. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 07:39 PM) Josh no-Fields stands and watches the catcher run back after a dropped third strike then gets thrown out at first. I hope the Sox are through drafting football players to play baseball. you raise a sage point for discussion: who's dumber, football players or baseball players? BB players were on my floor 2nd year of college...I'm leaning toward them.
  16. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 07:18 PM) I was really just wondering if his caps lock was stuck...and it does look like yelling, so I kinda mocked him. Anyways dude, a new keyboard costs like $20-30...you couldn't have saved up that much in 4 years? If you can't, then stop buying mountain dew.
  17. I wonder how Sammy managed to slim down so much. Tremendous discipline.
  18. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 06:52 PM) I think the best example might have been the Cameron game against Parque, et al. ouch - that night was humiliating. Not as bad as buying box seats to watch Danny Wrong lose 19-0 to the Angels, but close. In a season of all time lows, is it a stretch that the sox could have more errors than hits tonight?
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 02:01 PM) Tears swell in my eyes after watching the Phils win today. For all of you that thought Aaron Rowand wasn't going to be missed. I just wanna say a long overdue kiss my ass! f*** aaron rowand - he wears a phillie's jersey
  20. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 06:19 PM) dude, seriously, is your caps lock button permanently stuck? what's even funnier is that people are actually annoyed by having to read something in CAPS, as if someone were genuinely yelling. I love this internet thing.
  21. QUOTE(WCSox @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 12:54 PM) The Bears D was statistically better in '86 than '85. Their offense not being able to sustain drives (or score points) was the problem. they won with intimidation in 85 and the offense was just good enough. They lost their swagger after that.
  22. QUOTE(WCSox @ Aug 30, 2007 -> 12:50 PM) In the case of the Bears, it was more like they lost their only competent QB. defensive coordinator.
