  1. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 04:44 PM) Hawk said hed fill a lineup of all righties. where is BA???? Thank god he's out of the decision making part of baseball
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) Based on that metric, Greg Maddux has thrown a lot of balls his entire career. based on baseball, I think we can both agree that's a completely different approach to pitching.
  3. good lord that was fortunate
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) 21 pitches, 14 strikes for JV? but they've been helping him out fouling off pitches out of the zone - just looks like he's missing a lot
  5. javy's throwing a lot of balls
  6. bonderman looks like a skinhead...with a nasty slider
  7. Mags going to right...woo, dodged an early deficit

  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) 7 pitches for Bonderman, 7 strikes, 2 strikeouts. you know javy will match that
  11. they looked bad in the first last night too
  12. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 01:51 PM) I like palehose six... many of them are actually pretty funny. That said, I must be missing this one today. I'm not real sure I get it. can anyone help me out? oh, they're supposed to be "funny"...now I get what I've been missing
  13. Thames has so many clutch big hits that I'd love to see him go. And if Detroit wants to weaken their primary strength and throw in some of their starting pitching, then be my guest. I don't fear hitters coming from the weak NL to the AL.
  14. This is funny, from Scott Reifert's blog this morning: "Our favorite columnist took to the airwaves on WSCR earlier this week to explain that he is, indeed, on vacation. During the interview, he again criticized me (imagine that) when responding to a question from North about his contact with the team. North quoted from a recent article in the Chicago Reader that mentioned "emails" that had been sent to me. To clarify, the columnist has never sent me an email. His preferred method of communication is voicemail, and I have received some strong ones over the years (imagine that). Many probably wouldn't get past the MLBAM censor to be posted here, but there have been a couple recently that we have debated making public, solely to show everyone just who and what we deal with when it is not vacation season. We might have that debate once again ... During his interview, the columnist also criticized the Chicago Tribune's media writer for not calling him or his editor before writing articles about the issue. I can't speak for the general public, but I sense some irony here. Is he asking the Tribune writer to talk personally to his sources (in a sense to "show up")? Is that ironic or is it just me?"
  15. pitching and power hitting...it's a beautiful thing
  16. QUOTE(flbob @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 01:33 PM) all they did was clean out some bone chips. i don't even know if there were any burrs to scrape. really minor stuff. am i overly optimistic that he can come back strong? dunno. if he still feels the elbow, we won't see him again until the spring, i suppose. if the elbow feels good, he should be able to regain his command after some rehab work in the minors, don't you think? hope so, hate to see a guy that young go down.
  17. is he going to bring in Jenks?
  18. just leave Mac in...c'mon
  19. according to the tiger announcers BA missed the signal on the hit and run - the bad swing by Iguchi. Ozzie slammed his fist on the rail. Rookie mistake
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) Twas a change. slider, actually
  21. now it's time to start working that sinker first pitch - these guys are gonna be swinging at everything...nothing up Jon!!
  22. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 18, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) Nicely called. it's all math - I was due after so many missed calls.
