  1. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) This team will not make the playoffs as it is....physically and mentally they stink. and the change was so sudden, too. All goes back to that Boston series and they were playing so well going into it. It looks as if they've lost confidence, which is dumbfounding.
  2. I'm stunned that Javy's giving up more hits. Stunned.
  3. I hope Soriano can pitch 7 innings and hit .300
  4. thhis guys is so predictable. big run left at 3rd last inning.
  5. been awhile since we had a big series against the twinkies!
  6. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 04:14 PM) 1-0 Tigers 2-0
  7. Cleveland makes an error, Detroit capitalizes. Shocking.
  8. KW's got one thing on his mind, win it again. NOW. Go kenny go... KW's got one thing on his mind, win it again. NOW. Go kenny go...
  9. LaMura seemed to have some pretty strong numbers down in AA...anyone know much about this guy we gave up?
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) My goodness, did anyone just see that ridiculous bit on sportscenter? Why both Tiger Woods and the Tigers are so great. Wow. What a gigantic fluff piece. We never got sh*t like that last year. I blame Magnum PI
  11. there was a game in '03 I think, in the minny dome in September when the Sox looked so pathetic, no effort, just...dead. The Twins buried them and I read later that when Carl was standing at first base he told Mankewievizathazztz that the season was over, or something like that. Anyway, watching that game was just brutal. When your team shows no heart and loses, it's tough to watch.
  12. I like the match ups, at least with count on the mound we have a chance against Satan. A slim chance, but a chance. If Buehrle could just....nevermind. Tuna the twins.
  13. An even stronger statement from KW: "Our coaching staff has been after me for the last month to acquire Sandy Alomar," general manager Ken Williams said. "So it is my responsibility as general manager to add pieces to the puzzle that my coaches feel they need to win another championship." Plus... "This was a specific request, and I followed suit and made the acquisition," Williams said. "The coaches thought at this juncture of the season, with Sandy's experience, especially with certain members of our staff, combined with his ability to give us quality at-bats against tough left-handers and move runners and put bunts down, it was a definite upgrade. "We think Sandy has done a great job of keeping himself in shape, and he's not going to have to play regularly. Sandy has been after me for two years to bring him back. I don't have to ask him how he feels about it."
  14. QUOTE(loltrain @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 10:31 AM) I'm not concerned about that. if I were sitting at your keyboard there isn't much I'd be worried about either. I'm so disgusted I'm forcing myself not to watch the game today.
  15. i thought it was kind of funny. zumaya and the tigers haven't won dick in so long. in fact, it's probably a sign of respect that they celebrated like they did. monroe, on the other hand...tool.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 12:41 PM) Bunting is not the issue, getting hits with RISP is the big issue. Playing small ball isn't going to make our starting pitchers avoid the big inning. We've had a lot of 2 men on situations lately, and the only time we really cashed in on it was PK's 3 run homer vs Detroit. and yet I believe they still lead the league in that category
  17. say good bye to bmac if this deal is done. they want top pitching prospects and he's it. not worth it, imo.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 05:16 PM) And how many times did the bats save the offense. Its time for the pitching to do the same and in no time both the offense and rotation will be clicking on all cylinders and people will forget all about this little stretch. like the tiger curse banner. hope it works some mojo. it's funny to read "analysis" of why we're not winning. Everything has been blamed except the batboy and man soon lee's bullpen catching, when in fact it's just that they're not playing too good all around. I like going to the track at santa anita and the most exciting races are those where a horse comes from behind to win it.
  19. I really thought I got the "sign" today. Went to a park in Burbank California of all places and THREE different people were wearing White Sox hats, myself included. We all looked at each other and couldn't believe it. Maybe if we had actually spoken rather than shake our heads and look away... Think I'll pull out the 1919 cap I have and wear it, what the hell. It's not worth this pain.
  20. we've just about seen it all... bad bullpen... shelled starters... sloppy defense... bad breaks... duck snorts for rallies... slumping sluggers... bad coaching... bad managing... Am I forgetting something? what else can they f'n do to lose that hasn't been done?
  21. maybe they can breathe a sigh of relief and relax knowing that a loss doesn't knock them back even further. Or better yet, a chance to win and gain some ground.
