  1. what a great thing it would be for Brian Anderson to get hot at some point in the next two months.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) Oh despite all that golf (for the first time in my life) I still stink at times while at other times I'll hit an ocassional 300 yard drive right down the fairway, pitch onto the middle of the green and get a par. Have you played strawberry farms down there? great course...I think some old Angel like Bobby Grich or Gary DiSarcina co-owns it.
  3. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 07:17 PM) I play golf three times a week I envy you. I get out once a month if I'm lucky.
  4. sounds like a good guy. Nice job! by the way, what's his heater clocked at? He's a big dude.
  5. He's lost a step but always lays out for a ball whenever he has to. I still cringe watching that catch in Anaheim where it looked like he broke his ribs on the top of the short wall. JD's a gamer.
  6. August. I like the sound of it. Hope the Sox do too. Mark, announce your presence with authority (and keep the f'n ball DOWN). that is all.
  7. QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 07:25 PM) That is a quality site. um....no
  8. I'm having trouble letting go of yesterday's loss coupled with the tigers loss. Tonight we could be within 6 1/2. OK I'm over it, thanks JD.
  9. sox pitched out of some bases loaded jams in baltimore too. that crap catches up sooner or later...
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) People say he's supposed to be a decent outfielder because he has speed. However, he's so tentative out there, and he looks slower than hell now. I laugh when people rip on Manny's defense when trying to stick up for Pods. I watched some Red Sox games this weekend, and Manny made 5 throws in those games better than any Pods has ever made. he's got the quick release of an infielder
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 05:40 PM) I'm beginning to get worried about Contreras. He's lost that something special he had last 2nd half and the beginning of this year. farmio thinks he's dropping down too much and has lost his release point
  12. Yippee! Give it back, give it back, give it back!!
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 31, 2006 -> 05:28 PM) I like the 3 runs, but that's about the 5th time this season where we hit into a double play in the first inning of a game in which we had the chance to really open it up. Hopefully Jose gets us back in the dugout with a 3 run lead, and we keep getting runners. joe's going through a rough stretch, hopefully everyone can pick him up. AJ, on the other hand....
  14. QUOTE(MichiganBorn @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 06:00 AM) I couldn't have said it better. I'm tired of hearing how "The tigers haven't played well against teams with a winning record". I think that will change. This weekend will be tough. The baseball world will see two hot teams clash. if you're tired of hearing it then maybe you should try posting on a tigers board. Then again, I wouldn't recommend that either. I was surfing some motorsports site and it was full of kool-aid drinking sox haters who are already mapping out the parade route for October. Comical, but pointless.
  15. Shelton might be slumping but he still has a knack for the clutch hit. I'm glad he's going down.
  16. The last day of July. Good riddance.
  17. Tigers haven't faced any adversity this season. Who knows, maybe they won't. Maybe they'll just win 115 games and cruise through the playoffs and bring home the trophy. The big difference this year is that TWO teams are chasing the leader, not one like last year. It's going to be a fun race, and how big is that final series of the season in Minny??
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) Wow....pathetic outfield defense. Take off the concrete shoes Dye. Anderson would have caught that ball easily. It's ok Ozzie, outfield defense means nothing! Mack would've caught that ball easily if he had called off dye. He almost caught it anyway, he was just standing there.
  19. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:45 PM) A big middle finger from most of the USA. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/fp/flashPol...mp;pollId=38318 Right back at ya, ya bastages! That's funny -- 90% of the folks in Minnesota say no! What a surprise...
  20. Sudafed will leave the ball up in the zone every time. I blame Cooper and Pfizer for this poor outing.
