  1. update on right now: crede's in the line up tonight.
  2. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) Crede is argubly our best all-around player. That belongs to Jermaine Dye in my opinion, but I don't want to sound like losing Crede wouldn't hurt.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) This would be the worst possible timing for Crede to go to the DL. I would have to think that Fields might get the call. In my opinion, later is now! If we tank in the next two weeks, our season is likely over. Crede's important, don't get me wrong. But it's not like losing Dye, PK, Thome or even A.J., IMO. Get him healthy now. There's still nearly half of August and all of September to have him healthy. And remember the tear he went on after going on the DL last year...
  4. Better now than later I guess. That's a blow, however.
  5. I like Pods. He's our best option leading off. And by the way, he reads this board.
  6. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Aug 7, 2006 -> 07:31 AM) ALCS Game 2 Rematch. I thought Escobar was pitching in relief in game 2...no? Either way, bring it Mark!
  7. 18-3 announce your presence with authority
  8. It's a good argument for JD in the 3 hole where he hit with some success last year, too. My only concern would be the timing of the move - it's late in the season and everyone's got a role right now and to mix that up could go either way. Can we afford to have it backfire? Every game is a playoff game from here on out.
  9. and cleveland leaves the bases loaded. dropping another game to everyone today. not good. Tigers sweep, sox can't. gosh darn.
  10. Uribe must really be in the doghouse. On a side note, I met umpire Paul Rungee last night at a wedding in Anaheim. Very cool guy who had good things to say about Ozzie and the Sox and the city of Chicago.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) Sadly, I agree. Right now...maybe I do to. But I think the worm is turning.
  12. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 6, 2006 -> 01:30 AM) He sucks vs lefties and can't play D. couldn't disagree more - he's rarely afforded the chance to bat against lefties and his D isn't great but it doesn't suck as bad as some would like to think. Even more important, he's the spark that makes this team go. We win 75% of the time he gets a hit.
  13. QUOTE(stretchstretch @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 04:49 PM) Yes, where will we finish the season while you're at it? I believe we will win the division in shocking and unpredictable fashion: after dominating KC for the entire season, Detroit will enter the season's final series with a one game lead on the Sox. Feeling the same sphincter clench that Cleveland felt last year, they will proceed to lose the final two games of the season while the Sox are doing something they've rarely ever done, beat the Twins in the dome late in the season, winning the last two games. Detroit will go in as the WC and lose in the first round against NY while the Sox beat Texas. NY and Chicago in the ALCS.
  14. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 11:42 AM) I got a feeling Javy's turning the corner. He's been so close. Hitters tagging him the third time through the order suggests that he's not mixing up his approach the third time through. That and his penchant for hanging sliders. DUDE, you're a genius!
  15. And he did it against the top hitting team in the league. This is huge. Keep it rolling Count!! LET'S GET F'N HOT!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Lineup: pods iguchi thome kong JD AJ Crede Cintron Anderson
  17. his fastball is great -- location has been off a bit and guys have nailed it. I'll worry about Jenks when he starts burning himself again.
  18. i've only done it once and they lost. i'm out.
  19. It's only natural that their pitching should falter a bit. Doesn't mean they can't get it back on track. Leyland's doing a great job giving Verlander's arm some rest. If he's tired does it mean his fast ball drops down to 95-96? Yeah...that's awful. What that team pulled off against the red hot twinkies in the dome impresses me to no end. Unless detroit stumbles, Sox have to completely dominate the tigers to have a chance for the division, and that's a tall, tall task.
