Core of the Core - Sox vs Royals Game 3
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) In the last 16 innings, our only offense is 2 solo homers by PK You're not taking into account the royals pitching.

Core of the Core - Sox vs Royals Game 3
I see we're giving the royals 4 outs an inning. That's mighty kind.

good thing the Sox are hot right now, otherwise Cleveland would be that object in the mirror that is closer than it appears...

Those Streaky White Sox
I don't know about anyone else, but given the 104 years the Sox have been around, I'm surprised there have not been longer winning streaks.

Phil Rogers' Playoff Prediction Scheme
His logic is fairly sound, and of course he offers a major disclaimer, but it's a good read: Link

Where is Cotts?
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) IMO, The number one obstacle standing in the way of the Sox and their first trip to the World Series in 473240464604 years is Ozzie. IMO, the number one reason the Sox have a shot at the World Series for the first time in 473240464604 years is Ozzie.

A Quick Word on The Count
the power of confidence. This "kid" finally believes in himself. Did you see the quote how he said he's so confident right now that he'll walk a batter to get to someone he'd rather face? That's confidence. Right now I'd put this guy on the bump in the first game of the playoffs. Gotta go with the hot hand.

WS Nightmare
QUOTE(kevin57 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 05:42 AM) Situation: It's the ninth inning of the seventh game of the WS. You have only two choices in your bullpen: Vizcaino and Marte. Who do you go to? BTW, our opponent intends to send their best switch hitter to face one of them. Impossible! you say? Given our splendid pitching management this year, nothing is impossible. Besides, this is a nightmare, and we don't get to choose the bad things that can happen in our nightmares. Let the sweating begin, Sox fans! bring in Marte, have him hit the switch hitter, then either pitch to the next batter if he's lefty, or bring in Viz to face the righty.

Attendance crap
I agree with what they're saying. It blows that there aren't more fans in the seats. They've got the best record in baseball. If they were playing s***ty and no fans were showing up and they whined about it, we'd all be saying "why should anyone pay to watch that crap?" I think it's a good sign that they feed off good crowds. They're paid no matter who shows up. So the only reason they're saying anything is because they want support from the fans. So what's wrong with that? I don't blame them, they deserve better, even against a s***ty Royals team.
