  1. That's just a redirection, he didn't kick it in. You can't pull that one back. Hawks just need to wake the f*** up.
  2. I turned it on for one play, and their backup qb threw a pick 6. Thanks for the injury update dan, i was just going to ask wtf happened.
  3. Well the Bonds apologists are now out of material.
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 08:23 PM) (Be prepared -- excessive cursing ahead. Apologies for my dirty mouth.) Colombus is f***ing scummy, I hate those f***s. Klesla's a dirty f*** and their announcers are s***, not to mention they're the f***ing Blue Jackets. I can't wait for Koci to get healthy and kick some heads in next time they meet. f***ing Colombus... go enjoy your win, oh right, you're in Colombus. Well said. Klesla last year on Ruutu, Boll runs his mouth at Adams when he tears his ACL, Boll runs Lalime like a f***, Nash takes a nice cheap shot to start a fight. It's a shame we don't play them sooner than January.
  5. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 11:14 PM) I don't mind ripping that f***. he was worthless. Everyone needs more of this in their life. I remember watching this live when he did this and I nearly died laughing. If somehow any of you haven't heard this, enjoy.
  6. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) To be fair, he questioned my accuracy on something that I remember from watching the games, and it was a pretty hot topic right before McCabe got traded... so by questioning that he obviously wasn't paying too much attention at the time for whatever reason. That's a completely fair thing to say. He said I must have been confused, I wasn't. McCabe put the puck into his own net multiple times leading to questions of whether his head was in the game and the inevitable acquisition of the man my buddies and I so adoringly referred to as Karpetsnatch. The confused part wasn't really serious, it was just a flat out rip on "that guy"
  7. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) Neither you nor Pat Foley wish to speak of that players name. However, I have him confused with no one... I actually watched the games. He passed the puck into his own net like 3 times in a two week span and got dealt shortly thereafter. He's overpaid and really isn't needed on this team. Let's develop the youth on the blueline. If anything we need a defensive defenseman (heh) not an offensive one. Are you implying I didn't watch games or something? Because that would be awesome. I don't remember him shooting the puck into his own net 3 times in two weeks, but since that was so long ago, who knows, I guess. I would love to have had McCabe all these years, end of story. Regardless of him 'passing the puck into the net 3 times," he turned into a top 4 dman. Kind of a pointless rip. And in no way am I saying acquire him now. This is completely separate. However, this team will need a veteran dman at some point, I don't think this group, while a nice group of players, can really get it done for 82 games or any sort of playoff series. That's our only real big need this season, a veteran, solid dman that could play on the top two pairs.
  8. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) When McCabe was previously with the Hawks he scored more goals on his own net than he did against the opposing team. You are ripping a guy that brought back, via trade...well I can't even say it. And then he went on to fulfill the potential many Hawks fans thought he had. Interesting. Pretty sure you have him confused with the guy who came back.
  9. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 10:06 AM) Whom they beat. Huh?
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 10:01 AM) I also don't have much problem with it. Granted, I don't have much connection to the Old Stadium(was there, but don't have much memory of it, too young) but I have gone with my old man to a few games this season, and he was a Hawk season ticket holder for 32 years. He didn't seem to even notice "The Frank Pellico Show" was missing, and seemed to enjoy the Hawks winning more than the organ. We aren't trying to turn this into the old stadium, as we know that isn't possible. And this has nothing to do with winning. This is the same type of Pat Foley move that angered fans. Does it have to do with winning? That's irrelevant. I don't care about the Pelico show, that's the least of my problems. But it adds much more to the game than more rock music does. I listed a ton of them already. It is an integral part of a Hawks game, just as people enjoy Nancy Faust at Sox games and were saddened that her role was reduced (though that was her choice). QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) I think the Hawks organIzation sees how the Wolves are praised up and down about their being fan-friendly and especially kid-friendly, and maybe they're trying to steer in that direction a little bit. (the Wolves fan experience is always the comparison in this regard, and the Hawks never win that comparison) I just feel that in the bigger picture, a little more rock music and a little less pipe organ (and not even the original Stadium pipe organ at that) isn't that big a loss to make too much of a fuss. You obviously feel it is, and I'm not trying to diminish your opinion, I'm just giving mine as well. They are two different beasts, I believe. Most people going to Hawks games are there for the hockey and the tradition more than the 'show', where as I think most people going to any minor league sport are there for the show as much as, or more than, the game itself and who's winning. Also, throwing Tommy Hawk and an Ice Crew at me is not making the game experience any more enjoyable. Tommy Hawk does nothing funny or engaging, and the Ice Crew is true minor league. Now they take away the organ? BTW, the votes on the 'official' hawks message board is something like 70-10 in favor of organ. Playing 'we're not gonna take it' after the goal was terrible compared to the organ, as was, GOAL SCORED BY JONATHAN TOEWS....crickets chirping....and the no DUN DUN DUN let's go hawks was noticeably missing. I wish the organ and drummer boys were still there in full force. Apparently the 'younger' office staff thought this was a good idea. They should be ashamed of themselves, as they clearly didn't ask the fans about this, as the numbers/opinions show. I can only hope Rocky is listening.
  11. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 04:17 AM) I dunno, I think I'm okay with trading Frank for all the other cool things going on. Nobody's perfect, but Rocky's done a lot of good things so far and I know we won't get 100% of what we'd like. What's cool about the new inflatable bud light characters race, more rock music, messing with tradition and something that actually plays to fan emotion, and...more rock music?
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 01:29 AM) I heard somebody say they thought Illinois was gonna go to the Cap One bowl, and if not the Outback... I laughed a little and took a look at it... Rose: Michigan/OSU Winner Cap One OSU(if loses), Wiscy/PSU (with wins) (Mich would be 8-4 w/ a loss so they might fall behind a 9 win WISC or PSU) Outback Michigan (with loss) Wisky/PSU/ILL (with wins) Alamo: Will pick the lone remaining non-ILL team from the Wisky,PSU,Mich clan. Champs: Illinois -- Champs gets a good team, maybe a better team than Mich/PSU/Wisky, but a team without the drawing power of those 3. Insight: Purdue/Iowa -- Iowa has the bigger draw/traveling road show, but they've looked terrible in pretty much every game. $$$ wins out, Iowa will get the bid (as long as they beat WMU, which isn't a given) Motor City: Purdue (as long as MSU doesn't win) an MSU win and they'll be the biggest possible draw here. Indy's only route in is a win over Purdue, plus an Iowa and MSU loss Northwestern's only route in is a win over ILL, plus and Iowa, MSU, and INDY loss. Illinois needs MSU to beat PSU (plus a win over NW, obviously) to possibly get into the Outback or assure themselves of the Alamo. An MSU win also puts one of Purdue/Iowa on the outside looking in. In that scenario, I think it might be Iowa as the team left out, because there's no way that every bowl passes on an 8 win Purdue. Iowa would, no doubt, be snatched up in a second as an at-large by some crappy bowl. Don't underestimate the possible Florida/Illinois matchup, in Florida no less, nor the draw of Illinois, as it has a rabid fan base that will travel and hasn't had a bowl game in 5 years. Why should Illinois be skipped over in favor of Penn St or Wisky this year?
  13. So I thought Rocky was the man. Not so much. He cut Frank's role during games. He does the anthem and post game and that's it. No Pelico show, no DUN DUN DUN Let's go Hawks, no crashing the keyboard after opponent goals (tonight it was just 'we're not gonna take it', woopty do), no fight music, no roll out the barrel after goals. This really pisses me off. Maybe too much so. But Frank is a huge part of my blackhawks game experience and is the only thing left of the old barn, really. Rocky is calling this bulls*** the 'modernization effort.' WTF are you thinking? More rock music that doesn't get the crowd going doesn't do s*** to modernize the game. I see some backlash/petitions coming from this, and I hope this changes. This really does suck.
  14. Hopefully Osgood takes a look at it, because I'm pretty sure he still hasn't seen it.
  15. Habby was freaking awesome tonight, for those wondering. Beat Detroit, 3-0 against them on the year, 3 game winning streak, first home game on tv of the new era, and kane and toews score in an entertaining game. Good times.
  16. This has turned into a fire drill in the Hawks zone. Good God don't do this the final 3 minutes.
  17. QUOTE(The Critic @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 07:49 PM) This is AHL related, but is it common practice to Zamboni the middle of the ice between OT and shootout? They just did it in Rochester, and I don't think I've ever seen it done before. Yeah, it is. They dry scrape it to get rid of all the snow and s*** so pucks don't bounce off sticks.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 07:36 PM) Toews is god. You are allowed to stick around
  19. As I told Keith, I'd listen to Berman do all 41 home games if it meant they were on TV.
