    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) People who have blind hate for people in fraternities. I went to college for 4 years. It's not blind hate, but good attempt.

    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 11:59 AM) if someone is walking on the wrong side of the sidewalk, looks up, sees me, and doesn't get out of the way, i refuse to move and just lower my shoulder. Granted the person has to be smaller than me Good to see you are carrying on the tradition. Let em eat some shoulder, especially if they are looking behind them or to the sides to say hi to another frat boy. Also, people who don't wait for the whistle at a hockey game are huge assholes and should rot in hell. Yeah, I said it. I'm not there to watch you, sit the f*** down/don't come back to your seat until there is a whistle. Same thing also applies, to a bit lesser degree, to the middle of an at bat at a baseball game.
  4. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 7, 2007 -> 11:53 AM) going to my first notre dame game on saturday (just for the experience, the game will probably be awful) Any places/things I need to do while I'm there? Golden Dome, both inside and out Grotto Go into the Joyce center and check out the hockey rink and bball stadium Go behind the Joyce center and across the parking lot and check out the baseball field Head to the band concert at noon on the steps of Bond Hall Grab a spot and watch the band march to the stadium Check out the cheap but usually decent food that the dorms make (burgers, dogs)
  5. Finally. Umps shouldn't be expected to get HR calls right from hundreds of feet away with the way people build their ballparks nowadays. Railings, fences, fan interference, vertical lines. I'll be interested to see the exact process for review of a home run.

    Pet peeves....

I can't stand people who walk slow and aimlessly.

    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 11:24 PM) Well, this also could be karma. This could be the universe getting even with you, for every time you jam up traffic on 290 with the Manheim trick it adds a few seconds on to peoples off the line time. They say karma's a b****

    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 11:14 PM) They are pretty much on in the same, aren't they? "Pet peeves involve complaints about specific behaviors, rather than general dissatisfaction."

    Pet peeves....

I'll build off that left hand turn deal. People who are slow off the line suck. I'm not talking burning rubber, but way too often the first car in the left hand turn lane takes 2-3 seconds to even begin to move, causing 2-3 cars well behind him to miss the light. Anticipate the light and start moving. Oh and people who still stop on a red light with a green arrow (while turning right) suck.

It most definitely saves me time. You bypass a ton of bumper to bumper traffic and it takes 2 minutes to get back in. Hell if it didn't save any time, why would anyone ever do it?
  11. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) Wild guess here, but I'm going to go with Williamstown, MA. Gut feeling. Was that an honest guess?

    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 10:42 PM) The people on 290 East that get off on Manheim to do the Manheim trick, and stay in the exit and merge right back on to avoid the traffic, in essence creating the traffic jam. It saves me 10-15 minutes every time, best trick in the book. BTW, it seems you've turned this into a 'things you hate' list, not necessarily pet peeves.
  13. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Nov 5, 2007 -> 07:28 PM) Yeesh, everyone picking the Steelers unanimously. This is going to be closer than they think. I hope you didn't take the points
  14. Tex I'll PM you my address, I expect the bowl to still be hot when it gets here. TIA.

    Pet peeves....

I've found that red lights are pretty much a guideline for how traffic should flow these days. Every single day I see people enter the intersection after it's turned red to just catch the 'tail end' of the light cycle. I'm actually afraid to get hit from behind because I usually err on side of stopping when I see it go yellow and I'm still a decent ways out. Also, my new favorite driver is the guy who rides more than half way into the merge lane (2 lane road going into a 1 lane road due to construction) to block the pricks that think they should drive all the way up to the construction instead of getting in line like the rest of us.
  16. I'm liking the new commercials. They are pretty funny. Giving the guys a face, a personality, etc. is key. Hey Kaner, get the soda.
  17. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Nov 3, 2007 -> 02:53 PM) I was completely stoked until I heard they could televise more games.... and Rocky has decided against it. I'm not sure what the motivation is there..... PUT AS MANY GAMES ON TV AS YOU CAN this year. This isn't like introducing the glowing puck and gauging interest.... this is exposing your team to its fans. 6 to 8 games.... ugh Putting the games on CSN+ in s*** quality is not the way to expose the team. All the games need to be in HD, so however many you can get on there this year in HD, that's what you do.
  18. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) Considering that the Hawks have sold out the once upon a time 'remember the roar' type of fan, I think I added a very legitimate point of view to the thread. I remember when you couldn't get tickets to see the Hawks. This team has SUCKED for a decade. Maybe Kane and Toews are next coming of Hull and Mikita. I hope so. However, the late great Dollar Bill screwed over many a Hawks fan for many years. Maybe things are changing now, we'll see. I can't seem to see through the rose colored glasses because they have been stomped on and ground into the dirt for so long. That's fine, but we've all heard this 3,000 times. And it's not a legitimate point anymore because of what has happened the past few months. Though I'm not as old as you, I like to think I grew up with this team in the Stadium through the real late 80's and early 90's. I'll put it frankly. Wirtz is dead. A lot of things have been running right lately. There's a lot of LEGIT reason for hope. Don't hop on the bandwagon now, that's fine. But don't come looking to jump on a few years from now. Anyways, Keith never said anything in that post about them being the next Hull and Mikita, or us winning cups. It was just a hypothetical to compare and contrast the two players and get something going.
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 2, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) Wait. We are talking about the Blackhawks here. The same team that has been an embarrasment to the city for a decade. I'd flip a coin and walk away. Thanks for the amazing input. I love the people that tune into a thread just to add absolutely nothing to it. Well done.
  20. With a gun to my head, Toews. I think he's more of a complete player in all zones and I think he's going to be one hell of a leader and captain (I know you are familiar with the Yzerman/Sakic comparisons).
  21. No surprise here...Kane is rookie of the month. http://blackhawks.nhl.com/team/app/?servic...rticleid=342010
  22. This Sidney guy is good, whoever he is. Oh and Malkin something or other.
  23. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 09:56 PM) You and I are the only ones that realize this. Don't be so sure. However, honest question, wanna get Michigan fans' take on this. Why hasn't Chad Henne improved over the last 4 years? He really seems like the same guy, more or less, that he was freshman year. Just my opinion from watching hm. I thought he'd eventually really challenge for a Heisman when I saw him freshman year.
