  1. This trade is actually decent. It's a no lose trade. I think Vandy is a waste. He's not physical anymore, won't fight, has no offensive skills...I just don't like him and not many people do it seems. Eager is an energy guy who has showed some offensive potential (he was a first round pick, so he has some skill) and will hit anything that moves. He'll be fine on the 4th line. But the reason this trade is potentially good is because of what it does to the rest of the roster. Hopefully Buff goes back to D or Barker comes up, and MagicDoo goes back to Europe or something. Also, I think this means Koci is done. Koci can literally only fight, his shifts are worthless out there as he's a brutal skater and Havlat would usually fill that spot throughout the game. Eager is a guy you can dress every game and have him take his normal shift, and he'll take the fights Koci would have had. This isn't the offense Tallon was looking for, and he knows that and didn't try to spin it any differently...but IMO this improves the team a bit, and anything that does that is fine in my book.
  2. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Dec 18, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) Yeah the questions are difficult, but its a lot of strategy on some of those toss ups. I like the "press" option
  3. This new show, Duel, hosted by Mike Greenberg, has been entertaining so far.
  4. Maybe Wednesday we can be thoroughly outplayed, put 15 shots on net, and win. We're way overdue for that. f***ing jeezus.
  5. QUOTE(Shadows @ Dec 16, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) The record is the only unbeaten team in league history.. the Patriots havent matched s*** yet, and still have a ways to go before they are undefeated 2 games = "a ways to go" OK
  6. Willie, please don't go to Iowa. We have enough dbags around here like Gage to talk s*** about them
  7. Seriously SIU, stop or Justin won't be my friend anymore, as he will be dead in a ditch somewhere
  8. Ah, you f***er. The game I can't make, you'll be there. Damn it.
  9. LOL, may want to read posts right above you. Kane with the first goal of the game, destiny.
  10. Toews, Kane, huge front story on nhl section of espn.com http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/nhl/index If it's off by the time you see this, link below: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/columns/stor...&id=3152371
  11. Burish is a good energy guy and will drop them, but he is pretty worthless offensively and has bad hands. A guy like Blunden or Brouwer should be getting a look in his spot, IMO. At least compare and contrast the guys. 1 point in 30 games is kind of hard to do.
  12. OK, there's the elusive W we have been looking for. Time to turn this into a 3/4 or 4/5 stretch. Tough one Saturday in Buffalo, however.
  13. http://www.withleather.com/post.phtml?pk=1894 Trust me, you want to click this link.
  14. Petrino to Arkansas. A roundabout way to change college programs, but a good decision nonetheless.
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 11, 2007 -> 01:05 PM) To hang out with me. Well if you ever come home/stay home from the southern hemisphere, that could happen.
  16. Driving around the suburbs should be impossible later today.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 01:12 AM) I live off campus, so other than the fact that I will be sure to avoid being on campus at any time tomorrow and will have to go home a day later, this has no effect on me. The problem is the Holmes Student Center is the area the crazy person threatened, and I have my doubts as to if they can REALLY keep that place empty on the Monday of finals week, as it's maybe the most commonly populated area on campus outside of the dorms and Huskie Stadium during football season. Hopefully this was just a hoax but the fact they closed the whole campus tomorrow has me concerned, even though the weather is certainly horrible and I'd guess that is a factor (although small). If this person/people are serious I wouldn't think they'd write down a date and a place and then actually go to that place on that day. Anyways, stay safe and hopefully nothing whatsoever comes of this.
  18. Another dominating 3rd period (with the rest of the game being roughly even) and we can't get a win. Calgary gets 2 deflection goals, the 1st of them coming after we dominated the start of that period. They get it down in the zone once, and bam. Lapointe's turnover was god damn brutal, he had time to turn around and skate it and then chip it, but he just handed it to Phaneuf, and game over. Habby was pretty damn solid tonight, he would probably like that Nolan blast back, but he wasn't the reason we lost. Zyuzin wasn't terrible tonight...so that's a plus, I guess. Zyuzin actually had some nice plays with the puck and looked much better than he has recently. I think Lang pisses all of us off. Stupid penalty 200 feet from your net, passes to no one, and trouble catching a pass. Not to mention bad in the defensive zone. If the guy just gave half a s*** he could still be a pretty decent player. I guess we just have to take what we can get from him. Also, I don't like how Savvy has these lines going (and he juggled them a bunch in the 3rd, a lot of kane/toews/sharp, which I think should be more permanent). This team can't get rewarded for an outstanding effort 2 games in a row. The effort is there so I'm not worried. It would be really bad if we were being outplayed all over the rink, but that just hasn't been the case. Calgary did a hell of a job in the 1st period clogging the neutral zone and forechecking, and we turned it over a little too much in the first 2 periods, but damn, we deserved at least a point that game, again. We have played Luongo, Giguere, and Kipper 3 straight games, so unlucky crap like this is bound to happen. We just need to get a win on the board, hopefully Wednesday, and go from there.
  19. Off to the game. Reminder that it is on CSN tonight, 6:00. Time to stop this slide.
