  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) You have the right to be silent, even if you do not have the ability to do so... Anything you say, can and will get your ass-kicked at a future time. You have the right to have a buddy shut you up, if you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you. Do you understand these rights I have read them to you.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) Woah... easy cowboy. I seem to recall some poor 100 lb college kid telling 200 lb John that he could out drink him and grab the last beer from the table.. That beer was definitely shoved into my hand (by who? we'll protect the guilty, speculate on your own). I think you even have a picture of it, along with those other sweet pics...
  3. Anyone else see Salim's comments? It was something like "They are putting the white guy on me? Oh, my God" The trash talking has begun
  4. 100lb? For the record, i weigh 135lb...please Steff... And i was fine by 6:30 the next day, i made it to Houlihan's. I was in top shape. And if that doesn't work...well, at least i wasn't wearing a certain body part on my head at the bar.

  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) Why...? They wont be playing on the 1st even if they advance.. oops.. I mean when they advance. Unless I have the game schedule messed up which is highly likely.. I might be in St Louis the entire weekend
  7. This place is worse than facebook sometimes* *I don't use facebook, but i know all about the stalker issues.
  8. I'm not always a worthless college kid...
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 24, 2005 -> 08:37 AM) What about the 1st..?? I'll know that by the end of the game saturday.
  10. Alright, time for some actual game talk. Kenny's keys to tonight's game: 1. Stay out of foul trouble. I'm not cocky, but if we can keep everyone on the floor, it will be very, very tough for UWM to pull off the upset. The most important guy to keep on the floor is Deron. The instant we have guys like McBride handling the ball in our own end is the instant we get in trouble. Also, how about Powell Jr doesn't get in foul trouble early AGAIN tonight? He could be a key player as well with them trapping the guards constantly. 2. Luther handles the ball well. My guess is Bruce will try to trap and double team Dee and Deron as often as possible and force Luther to bring the ball up court and make a lot of passes. He needs to step it up (and hopefully be healthy) 3. Guard the perimeter (Duh!). It's been a weakness for us all year. Hopefully we don't trap too high tonight. UWM will have a shot at us if they start hitting threes like i watched them do in their first game vs Alabama. Don't let them get hot. And when they take them, get a hand in their face. We should be able to dominate the boards on their misses. 4. Last one - Don't let up. We got up big on Nevada and let them sorta back into the game with a few minutes left. Don't stop pouring it on, i don't care what we're up. With their ability to shoot the three, you want the biggest lead possible. Don't get into a lull at the end of the game. Play a full 40 minutes and i think we'll be fine. Also - this includes good possessions inside the ten minute mark. We've been running the clock a bit too early the past few games and then taken s***ty shots at the buzzer. That isn't all the productive with only a 8 pt lead or so. Run the offense, keep getting buckets. Less than 10 hours til gametime, 7 hours til i leave
  11. I think Weber does have their collectively head screwed on straight. Augie said they don't even talk about it unless the media asks them about it, and then they are done with it. It's definitely more of a fan obsession, the players are fine. I would never, ever use that as an excuse if we somehow lost, and nor would they.
  12. I'll be at opening day or in st louis, i'll know in 9 days Southsider, pass the beer bong
  13. I don't think that's the main argument that should be used though. Though i was only 6, i still know what happened and it effected a program i love dearly. Whether or not you experienced it is irrelevant, to a degree...if you know what i mean. It would probly mean more to someone who was in college during those years or was a bigger illini fan than i was that year when i was 6, but i still think it's fair to say take a hatred to Pearl if you wish Just don't make it the game story tonight

We have a lot of Mayors on here i think, which is a good thing *Doesn't mean i'm one of em
  15. This is a pretty interesting thread. I'm pretty similar to you aboz in that i overanalyze change and worry about it to the bitter end. The one thing that keeps me going is that i kinda believe in fate...along those lines, i believe that "things happen for a reason" That may be cliche, but i think it holds true. Of course, just my opinion. Another thing that i believe in is "God wouldn't give you anything you coudln't handle" So just keep your head up, try to relax if you ever feel stressed, and work through whatever situation comes to you. Believe in yourself and your abilities.
  16. Let's keep one thing straight here people - This game is NOT about Bruce Pearl It's about our Illini moving on to the Elite 8 Yes, i know the whole Pearl story, and i'll be booing intensely when he appears tonight with every other fan there, but afterwards it's all over. This thing has been beaten like a dead horse already. It's not bigger than the game. Certainly i won't feel happy tonight with a win 'because of Bruce Pearl.' It will be because we are moving on. That being said, let's do this I-L-L
  17. One more thing about yesterday, Luther was limping around just a bit and was held out of up-tempo drills like fast breaks. Some media outlets are making a big deal out of it, but i didn't even mention it originally because i didn't think it was a huge deal. I think he's fine. If he was seriously injured, he would have not even been on the floor. Who isn't a little banged up at this point in time? Luther was still making threes like it was his job towards the end of practice. Hopefully this isn't anything big, and he'll be at full strength tomorrow.
  18. This is a huge reason Illini fans are pissed at him. Like i said, what he did was dirty as all hell.
  19. The backdrops in domes are real weird because they are football stadiums. It's a ton different because there is a ton of open area between the rim and the seats, not like most stadiums teams play at all year. I'm sure there's a more detailed explanation, but that's the main thing that is different about domes. It's not the actual dome part that affects it.
  20. Guards actually shot pretty well, for what it's worth. Deron was on fire, he didn't miss s*** in the shootaround Luther ran very hot at times, he made like 7 in a row at one point Dee was better, but not as hot as the other two. Hopefully they all got adjusted to the sightlines and s***. Oh, one other thing...Salim's shot is so f***ed up watching it in person, and he missed a ton of shots today
  21. Awesome Harris...i'll be there both days as well...look for me, i'll be the one in orange... I went to the open practices today at allstate, i saw about 20 mins of zona, all of illinois, and a half hour of OSU. It was kinda cool just to see the teams shoot around and get a glimpse of the stadium. Can't wait for tomorrow
  22. HAHAHAHA, that video is awesome, they are all wasted during that video too, i love it. Too bad i showed up right after they ate that dinner....
  23. Alright this needed its own thread. The #1 play is from the ontario hockey league skills competition if i remember right, and it's the sickest goal i've ever seen in a shootout. I've almost pulled off the one similar to that goal where you just pick up the puck while it's next to you and spin and toss it in, but this guy did it BETWEEN HIS LEGS. Absolutely ridiculous, i can't even describe how hard it is to do that.
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 22, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) I'm saving yours for 5/7.
