What happened to the guy who got the Justin Bour signing right and then said the Dodgers were getting Harper?

he hasn't posted since he made the claim. The only professional acknowledgement of the dodger rumor is from @Chris_Camello

considering the dodgers don't seem in a hurry to shed salary I'd personally consider phillies/sox as the current favs depending on what happens with machado this week. If i was the dodgers and Harper was a lock to come I would've dumped puig/kemp in the same day. Harper definitely doesnt want manny signing before him.

  2. After reading up on Stadium, I'm now convinced Jerry is going all in to prepare for the new TV deal after 2019. Imagine having 2 premier stars playing games on your newly created sports network channel that currently has antenna distribution in most major cities and a lot of online partnerships.🤑

So...if you send him to the minors to start the year there are 2 ways to do it. Either...you call it a rehab assignment, where there's what, a 30 day limit and he still accrues service time? or you burn a minor league option to start the year. So, can we burn a minor league option on him? He still has to have 2 right?

He'll most likely need to be sent down to the minors for a couple of months (at least) to "learn how to pitch" again since his current method blew out his arm at age 22. He still has 3 options left so the Sox hold all the power right now.

  4. in 2020 he'll need to be in the minors for total days in the 2020 MLB calendar + 40 - 171 to only reach 5 years and 171 days of service time (172 days equal a full year of service time) at the end of 2024 and delay FA until 2026

So he'll need to be in the minors for about 55 days in 2020 for the Sox to gain an extra year of control unless the CBA changes

  5. For Sales/Qs value I would just use fangraphs projected WAR value for them then compare it against the prospects offered. They have a new KATOH+ forecast that tries to predict a prospects future 6 year mlb WAR value. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/an-improved...h-top-100-list/

You also have to factor in contract value, market demand, time value, and on top of that I would expect the trade to be at least 50% lopsided in the favor of the Sox.

Since Sale has a 17 WAR projection I would expect offers to begin at least with a 25 KATOH+ WAR return.

It's not that hard for most GMs to evaluate a fair trade with all the tools out there today...

As for acquiring a player with solid MLB experience like Betts or Bradley it would be counter productive if you're rebuilding since you wouldn't be getting max possible value in return. Trading Sale/Q only makes sense if you're getting 6 year prospects in return.

I hope the Red Sox sign him. Gotta replace the power somewhere. Or sign Desmond or Reddick. Then they deal us Benintendi in a deal to strengthen their rotation.

This is best case. Red Sox must be kicking themselves right now for not offering a better deal. Sale/Q would've guaranteed a series win over the tribe. Unless they rebound, it'll be #1 priority for them.

If they get swept, I suspect Moncada and Benintendi will be in any offer since both are easily replaceable for 2017-2020.

  7. This basically means they're just going to put out the cheapest .500 team they can build. (on paper)

The pieces were there last offseason to build a playoff team yet management sat on their hands and decided to enter the season with no DH, a 37 year old SS, a low tier CF, and backups at C.

Compared to other teams, there are too many holes and declining(?) players on this team to win. now.

  8. nice, worked great.

this should be in pale hose talk for a week since it saves people $100 and most of us should know someone with a t-mobile account

looks like its 1 per t-mobile phone number so a family plan could potentially redeem an mlb.tv account for each line on their plan.
