QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 11:28 PM) Paul Molitor, what is he doing these days. Last I knew he was a roving hitting instructor for the Twins. Maybe he could be lured away.
-
I don't understand how some people can have a problem with firing Walker. Granted, it very well might not solve the hitting woes, but what could it hurt? The offense is absolutely anemic. This is reminding me of 1968 (team batting .228 and Ken Berry (!) leading the team in homers with 15). Something has got to be done. Start with firing Greg Walker and immediately. And I'm a guy that really likes Greg Walker, but oh well.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) How come we don't have one of these by now? Went to the I-Cubs and Memphis Redbirds game tonight. Lots of Cards fans there. The stadium is really nice, better than Wrigley. Aren't there at least 25,000 ballparks across the country (Major league, minor league, little league, college, high school, jr. high, grade school...) that are nicer than the Urinal? :fthecubs

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 11:52 PM) If you want to listen to North and his nasally voice, here you go. Oh thanks! I'll listen to it some time when I feel like getting pi$$ed off.
-
God, I hate North and now that I live in Utah I don't have to ever hear that (goof) anymore. I just have to be reminded of him every now and then at Soxtalk. I can't believe that (goof) makes a good living doing what he does. Seriously, are there people that like him?

Picture yourself on a boat on a river. Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river. Old Mississippi, she's calling my name Why don't you come along and mosey on down, I said down, come on down, down by the lazy river. She sits on the dock a fishin' in the water uh, huh. She's so very nice, you should break the ice, let her know that she's on your mind. Across the streams of hopes and dreams where things are really not. Have to believe we are magic, nothing can stand in our way. Look here, Brother - Who you jivin' wit dat Cozmik Debris? When that moon gets big and bright, it's a supernatural delight. You wish upon a star that turns into a plane Don't know when I'll be back again Take my chances on a big jet plane - Never let 'em tell you that they're all the same Big ol jet airliner, don't carry me too far away Take off to the Great White North, take off... it's a beauty way to go. I'm freezing, I'm starving, I'm bleeding to death, EVERYTHING'S FINE!!!!!!! Might as well go for a soda, nobody drowns and nobody dies She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up. Yes I like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain. I'm a juvenile product of the working class, who's best friend floats in the bottom of a glass. Don't let them call you a juvenile delinquent. Don't let them say, say that you're bad. Some people call me a walkin' disaster - Just a waitin' for a place to occur Dont try to turn my head away, I'm flirtin' with disaster every day. And if you give me weed, whites, and wine and you show me a sign, I'll be willin' to be movin'. Wine, wine, wine (Elderberry!) Wine, wine, wine (Woo! Sherry!) There'll be lots of time and wine, red yellow honey sassafras and moonshine. In the mist of sassafras many things will come to pass. Pass me a bottle, Mistah Jones. Believe in me, 'cause I don't believe in anything. Because something is happening here. But you don't know what it is. Do you, Mister Jones? Look out Kid, don't matter what you did. Walk on your tip toes, don't try No Doz better stay away from those. Oh, tiptoe from the garden. By the garden of the willow tree and tiptoe through the tulips with me. Don't frown Tulip, make a smile, Don't frown Tulip, you know it's all worthwhile. Oh, c'mon smile a little smile for me, Rosemarie. What's the use in cryin' ? The angel in your arms this morning is gonna be the devil in someone else's arms tonight. To arms! 2 arms? Hooray that's great, 2 legs ain't bad 'less there's a crate they ship the parts to Mama in. Now, Who'll take the woman with the skinny legs? C'mon somebody please take the lady with the skinny legs. Now walk those legs right over here, give me what I'm dying for. Schoolgirl sweetie with a classy kinda sassy little skirt's climbin' way up the knee.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 04:37 PM) when will rookie ball begin? Great Falls begins on the 19th. I'll get to see them play in the middle of July. What sucks for me every year though is that by the time they get down here to Ogden and Orem the top draft picks have usually moved on to either Kannapolis or Winston-Salem. Still, all the same it's cool to see an affiliate.

QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 09:58 AM) I saw this last year at WSI, except multiplied tenfold. The posters who saw the imminent collapse coming, they were shouted down. If you're a "realist," you're a "Dark Cloud." Precisely the reason that I left WSI behind for good in the middle of the 2005 season. It got very hateful towards the "realists". People got banned left and right. I got so sick of all that hate-filled dark cloud crap. Right now it's obvious that the Sox are, in my humble opinion, in need of a shakeup or something. As stated they have been playing pretty bad baseball all in all since the middle of last season. On a happy note, I'm about to embark (by car) from Utah for Wisconsin for a quick little summer vacation. My son and I will be at our first White Sox game in 2 years Tuesday night. It'll be my youngest daughter's introduction to White Soxdom. YEAH!!!

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 31, 2007 -> 12:02 PM) Eh, movies stop being scary once you're about 14. Not so true. Parts of The Sixth Sense scared me pretty good. And I'm eh....older than 14.
-
I think kids these days have been exposed to so much that of course old movies don't seem so scary. The original Frankenstein scared the s$#! out of people when it came out. So did King Kong. In the 50's when I watched those old Universal horror films on Shock Theater they terrified me. But I loved 'em. Those flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz totally creeped me out too. I saw Psycho at the Lido Theater in Maywood on a Saturday afternoon when I was 9 years old. My friend and I had no idea what the movie was, we just went because thats what we did. We're we in for a surprise! Norman "f***ing" Bates.

QUOTE(Soxy @ May 31, 2007 -> 10:04 AM) The long and winding road There has to be a twist I rode my motorcycle in the rain. flirtin with disaster He's going the distance Gonna eat a lot of Peaches And I was standin' on the side of the road Standing in line, marking time, waiting for the welfare dime Then I saw her face The girl with the kaleidoscope eyes A brown eyed girl in hand me downs Blinded me.....with SCIENCE She was the best damn woman I had ever seen Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds She ain't exactly small 42-39-56 BABY GOT BACK! She knows she got everything a woman needs to get a man, yeah. One Bourbon, one Scotch, one beer.I don't wanna touch you too much baby 'cuz making love to you might drive me crazy Cause southern belles are hell at nightI'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride Cowboy take me away Slob on my knob, like corn on the cob Lie back and let me unlock you I've got a brand new pair of roller skate, you've got a brand new key She's a super freak, a super freak, she's super freeeeakaaayyyyyy Why don't you come with me little girl, on a magic carpet ride? You aint seen nothing yet But with a magnifying glance, I just sort of look her over. Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing And I fell in to a burning ring of fire Burn baby burn! - Disco inferno! Burn baby burn! - Burn that mama down, yoh! Yeah Im hot blooded, check it and see Feel the fever burning inside of me Lord amighty! I feel my temperature risin' I'm so hot for you and you're so cold Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold, cold heart Let's get together Before we get much older. Because I'm turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so Walking on thin ice, I'm paying the price For throwing the dice in the air. You're as cold as ice. You're willing to sacrifice our love I see a little silhouetto of a man, Scaramouche, scaramouche will you do the fandango- Turned cartwheels cross the floor Like the circles that you find In the windmills of your mind I'm so dizzy, my head is spinning. Ride a painted pony let the spinnin' wheel spin. And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like Jellyroll Everybody must get stoned That Ain't no way to have fun, son Some people claim there's a woman to blame Young girl, get out of my mind My love for you is way out of line And they called it puppy love Tonight's the night for you to hit it doggie style If you don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down Where it all ends I can't fathom, my friends. If I knew, I might toss out my anchor. I just spent six months in a leaky boat, lucky just to keep afloat. Call for the Captain ashore Let me go home, let me go home The captains tell they pay you well. But How ya gonna make some time when all you got is one thin dime? Time is on my side, yes it is. Time everlasting, time to play B-Sides. When they know they have you, they really have you. Haven't you noticed the days somehow keep getting longer. It won't be long 'til Summer comes, now that the boys are here again. And if you let me cool you one time, you'll be my regular stop. Oh the dashboard melted but we still have the radio. Hey mister DJ, I just wanna hear some rhythm & blues right now On the radio, on the radio, on, on the radio. Dancing in the moonlight, everybody's feelin' warm and right. Well it's a marvelous night for a moondance There's a girl right next to you, and she's just waiting for something to do. Wild thing...you make my heart sing...You make everything groovy. Sing, sing a song, make it simple to last the whole night long I'm singing this note 'cause it fits in well with the way I'm feeling. Boy, you sure took me for one big ride and even now I sit and I wonder why. Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids But Mama, that's where the fun is. And she'll have fun fun fun til her daddy takes the t-bird away. Well, I ain't been home to see my baby, in ninety nine and one half days. Click bang! What a hang! Your Daddy just shot poor me. Bang bang, he shot me down. Bang bang, I hit the ground. I shot the sheriff, but I swear it was in self-defense Mama put my guns in the ground. This is the end. My only friend, the end.
