Honestly though, I did pick the Gophers to make a run in the B10 tournament and then lose to tOSU in the finals. -

I was saying that winning the conference outright AND winning the tournament should qualify the Buckeyes as a #1 seed, because the Big 10 is the best conference out there. -
Falker or Shaw...either one...vs Morrison would be a treat. It depends on the bracket, if Memphis gets a #1 seed and SIU is the #8 or 9 seed in their bracket, I like the egyptian dawgs chances. It took a once in a lifetime surge AND questionable officiationg for OSU to come back against them last year.

You will all laugh, but: Nova, Ohio St, Gonzaga, and SIU(I've never picked them before, but I think this is the MVC's year to get one in the F4...plus, I pray alot). Ohio State over Nova Gonzaga over SIU Ohio State over Gonzaga, barely

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) They are pitiful this year and that's all I'm concerned with. And their egomaniac coach made excuses for their poor play all year. Maybe he should have just admitted they were awful from day one. They were also highly thought of going into the season, dont blame it all on Pitino. Also, my signature is a direct link to the Saluki mens basketball page if anyone wants to take a look. (and if Kentucky loses today, they might not make the tourney...they are down now) -

Yes it is, as good as the big 10 is this year, and as down as the ACC is, the ACC still gets all the coverage...it's sickening(I know that was a big u-turn but it does bother me). -

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 02:51 PM) One thing I point to as far as teams bringing fans is Louisville in the Big East Tournament. There were a lot of idiotic Louisville fans who spent their hard earned money going up to NYC. I mean even though Louisville was a one and done, these people still went up there when their team had no shot. I'm not a fan of either UK or Louisville (these are my 2 hated teams), but from having to live around their crazy fans, it's quite apparent that they would travel just about anywhere to watch their teams. Even if they are pitiful. Dont expect Louisville to be pitiful for long. I just think going to the big east they met unexpected growing pains, as they went from a conference with a few good teams, to going to a conference that is tough top to bottom and brought a few of those good CUSA teams with them(except memphis). Louisiville will be BEast champs next year, mark my words. -

True, just wondering. I wish GW had won, the A10 turned from a 1 bid league to multiple, that will hurt. -

QUOTE(The Bones @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) I don't see it happening though. It has been proven in the past that the championship game has no effect on seeding. The committee already has the brackets made before the championship is over. But, if a team wins the tourney and conference outright in the best conference, a #1 seed should be given. I know the brackets are mostly done, but last minute changes have to be made. I dont see how Memphis is a #1 over tOSU as it is. -

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 02:24 PM) As far as the bubble teams go, it's completely possible that Missouri State got knocked out today but we'll see. Bradley should still be fine, UNI and the Shockers are in, and obviously SIU is good. I still think at worst the mvc gets 4, I could be wrong though. I agree, but I still think 5 is likely. With all the upsets lately, like I said they have mostly been offset because the upset was a team that would likely make the tourney anyway(except Temple). So I ask this question: Which bubble team gets taken off first: mid major who truly deserves it, played hard all year, won some big games BCS school that has played average/bad all year, accomplishing nothing but having name value(Kentucky, Arizona, Alabama, and Stanford come to mind). -

If tOSU wins the confernce tournament, they SHOULD be a 1 seed...to win the conference outright and the tourney in the hardest confernce in the nation this year, and not be a #1 seed, would be ludacris. -

QUOTE(The Bones @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) Don't forget that Bucknell needs to win their championship game. One of either Memphis or UAB needs to win the C-USA tournament. Nevada needs to win the WAC. All of these conferences could potentially steal at-large bids if these teams don't win. That was kind of implied, I didn't think I needed to go through every conference...a team thats going to make the tournament anyway in a multi bid league needs to win... one bid leagues, like the MAC or Big West or whatever it doesn't really matter...let them play their asses off -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) That is why I worry about Bradley. UNI has the best OOC wins by far among the teams in that league, and Mizzou State (at least up until the last couple of days) had an RPI in the mid 20's. Bradleys strong play at the end of the season(except that stinker in the MVC final) probably sealed their fate...they are in, as is Wichita State AND Mo St or UNI..and they both still have a chance. I dont think the GW loss does as much as one might think, because Seton Hall went from a lock to a bubble team yesterday. As long as Tennessee, LSU, Florida and I guess Alabama win the SEC NC State, Duke, UNC, or BC win the ACC UConn, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Villanova and whoever the hell else was making the tourney from the big east(frickin super conference) or Ohio State, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, or Michigan state from the Big 12... Then things pretty much stay the same. Most of the mid major finals happening lately are from 1 bid leagues irregardless. Helps that the pac 10 is mostly irrelevant this year, as it seems to be a breakout year for mid majors. -
Might have to check that out, if the Salukis kick ass in the tournament I'll take all the cheerleaders up there and buy them a round...and like give the guys high fives, maybe a hug to Bryan Mullins... just do well in the tournament guys

This girl perplexes me. Sometimes she looks so incredibly hot, and others she looks downright homely. Shes the champion snowboarder for those who dont know. I am sitting here watching ESPN and going " :puke Then, I see her in Sports Illustrated and am Shes like a living version of that Seinfeld episode. I also, for those who dont know, have a fetish for snowboarders. I giggle like a schoolgirl whenever I see Lindsey Jacobellis or Gretchen Bleiler, and have those same mixed reactions whenever I see Teeter. Kelly Clark just doesn't do it for me, not even while drunk. Any thoughts?

No I havent, but I've drank in Carbondale during bracket buster saturday(2 years ago, against Hawaii), a town wide keggar...it was awesome.

I hadn't been to sleep yet when I went off on that rant. I'm more docile when I'm well rested.

Wow I got my facts a tad mixed up. I wasn't discrediting Webber at all, mainly saying I'm happy with Lowery.

Thanks but I've been here a while

I'm hungry for a Illini/Saluki game again...the last one(2002 I believe), was a true classic. I actually wanted it last year, when Brooks and Hairston were still here. SI did a story about Brooks matching up good with D Brown, but I personally would put Tatum on Brown(and would of let Brooks guard Williams). I am hoping we are in the same bracket come tourney time, Illinois offense vs SIU's defense...great game, down to the wire IMO. Plus, I want that Tatum/Brown matchup before Brown leaves for the NBA. -
Illini fans are cool, I cant stand the bandwagoners though. You can have Webber, I'll take Lowery. Webber inherited a great team, came in the middle of the Brooks/Hairston regime. Lowery took a true freshman, two sophmores(one being a tall lanky fellow who slightly resembles the mascot...still love ya Randal), Jamaal Tatum, and a backup in Tony Young and did something Webber never did, win the MVC tournament AND finish tied for 2nd in a year in which most thought we'd finsish 6th or 7th. Just imagine how good this team will be next year.
