  1. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 04:16 PM) for? I don't know yet... I need some time. I'm old remember..
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 04:14 PM) do you think NL only or only out of the AL central? To Seattle.
  3. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) theres a lot of talk though that we wouldnt keep him. we would trade him. they would make this deal to block minn and detroit from acquiring him. To Seattle..
  4. I think if we get him, he's being flipped immediately.
  5. QUOTE(rcpweiner @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) Uh. If we're following the 2004 Red Sox line of thinking, I'm fine with that. You know, since they won the World Series and all ... Pfffttt....
  6. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) Winning now isn't guaranteed. Our position now in the standings doesn't even guarantee a playoff spot. And often the idea of "winning now" kills an organization several years down the line. Decisions are made which are regretted later. Ask San Francisco how they delt with "winning now" when Pierzynski was traded for. Or the Mets with Scott Kazmir. Above all us, we traded Lumsden to a division rival!!! We're giving them a legitimate starting pitching prospect to pitch against us in the future. To answer Chaos, I'm concerned about our farm system because I'd like an arm or two available in several years when this rotation is disassembled. Lumsden seemingly gave us hope, and had good peripherals to project as a mid to upper starter in the rotation. Now, what do we have? My garbage man told me that Tyler and Kenny have a handshake agreement that he would go easy on the Sox in 3 years when he's at the show.
  7. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Fine. If Pods isn't moving to CF and Soriano's not in left, just where does everybody think Soriano's going to be playing? Soriano is in left, Rowand and Cameron are sharing center duties.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) Or Brandon jumps on a flight to DC . . . I bet he packed a bag this morning..
  9. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 03:35 PM) Jeremy Reed just called me. He said he hates this deal. He's not the only one. A Sox pop don't like it either.
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) also, Humberto Sanchez was just scratched from his start tonight. Could detroit have finally given in to Washington/'s demands based on this rumor? That puts a new twist on things..
  11. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:52 PM) Ah...but it would be 'Hot Sox fan runs on field naked'...instead of 'ugly Cub fan' Anyway, I'm down with Soriano...hoping B-Mac is somehow not part of it. His bat at the top of the order would be great. Have you seen G....??? Just kiddin' G...
  12. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:51 PM) What if we miss the playoffs and go back to having 20,000-25,000 per game next year? Then do we have the money? Guestimating, but I think so.
  13. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) Soriano and Uribe for A-Rod?????????? I think it's safe to say that Uncle Jer is not going to pay PayRod's salary.
  14. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) Running on the field naked was hot...until you recommended the Cubs hat! Well I sure don't want the media reporting "Sox fan runs naked on the field...".
  15. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) Rauch returns to fill Brandon's spot in the pen... Post of the week!!!
  16. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:42 PM) 3 things. 1. Do we have the money to sign Soriano to a long term deal? 2. Would Ozzie actually consider putting Pods in center over BA? 3. If Pods does stay and play center, would Pods, BA and Mack all platoon and play center? I'm just answering 1. Absolutely.
  17. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:40 PM) I would be surprised if both Anderson and McCarthy are in this deal. Scratch that I would be SHOCKED. I definately see Washington wanting more SP, and I could see us giving up Fields and Broadway as well, but not Anderson or Bmac. I was being sarcastic about Anderson.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) Zito? Now that's been whispered more times in the past 2 months than I have ever heard a rumor before. That would be interesting.
  19. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) No BMAC or BA Pffftt... Anderson is gone. Didn't you read the 19 threads about Aaron coming back...?
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Just thinking for a second, if the Sox are getting a reliever back in the deal with Washington, I think you have seen the end of Freddy Garcia or Javy Vazquez in Chicago. It means Brandon slides into the rotation with McDougal taking his place in the pen as a set up man from the right side. This could be interesting. Mike... I do think Brandon would be right in the middle of the deal. Sure would be helpful to have that BMac.Com set up right now..
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) Hey now..I do not look like a beer bottle or a hot dog wrapper! No.. it's for your tv appearance. Wear a wife beater t-shirt too.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) Does anyone actually think that Williams would be stupid enough to ship out McCarthy in this? Yes.
  23. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 02:26 PM) If its just Pods and BMac I can accept it. If Anderson is included as well then hes lost me and I might run out on the field naked at the game tonight. Bring a Cubs hat.
