QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) Is it possible to find a way to have the score posted on game threads? I always come into them, but leave because I have absolutely no idea what the score is. Not looking to create more work for anyone, but if it's not too hard to do, it would be a nice feature. Just ask and we'll post it.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050818/ap_on_...HNlYwNzc3JlbA-- Slain Girl Buried By DAVID TWIDDY, Associated Press Writer Thu Aug 18, 5:49 PM ET KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A slain little girl, long known only as Precious Doe, was buried Thursday and mourned by the residents and investigators who kept the search for her family and her killers alive for four years. The marble grave marker in a city cemetery bears her picture and more importantly, her name, Erica Michelle Marie Green. "This time, she has her identity," said police Sgt. David Bernard, who led the investigation and was one of the pallbearers for her small, white casket. Erica's decapitated body was found in a park in April 2001 and her head was found days later. Neighbors came to call her Precious Doe, and years passed before she was identified this spring and her mother and stepfather were charged with murder. Hundreds of people gathered for her first funeral when Erica's identity was still unknown. A simple stone then marked her grave. The body was exhumed in 2003 so a lifelike bust could be made to show how her face may have looked. Thursday's reburial, in the same plot, was smaller, as visitors lay flowers, balloons and stuffed animals at the grave. "Erica tragically experienced death in the early morning of life. But this was not God's will ... but the will of wrong," said U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, whose district includes the neighborhood. Also a minister, he officiated at the burial. Among the mourners was Betty Brown, a neighbor who had cared for Erica in Oklahoma before the girl's family moved to Kansas City. "It was hard when I didn't know where she was," said Brown. "I always was hoping one day I'd see her again. I wasn't thinking about seeing her in heaven." Erica's mother, Michelle Johnson, 30, of Muskogee, Okla., was charged with second-degree murder, and the girl's stepfather, Harrell Johnson, 25, was charged with first-degree murder. Harrell Johnson was arraigned Monday and a judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf. Police said Harrell Johnson admitted that under the influence of alcohol and the hallucinogenic drug PCP, he became angry with Erica when she refused to go to bed, grabbed her, kicked her and threw her to the ground, leaving her unconscious. After she died, he said he used hedge clippers to sever her head. :headshake

Woman Says She Was In Fear Of Husband POSTED: 11:00 am MDT August 10, 2005 UPDATED: 11:39 am MDT August 10, 2005 DENVER -- A Denver mother is on trial for sex assaults involving her own children. "This is one of the sickest cases we've seen," said Lynn Kimbrough, a spokeswoman for the Denver District Attorney's Office. The mother, who is not being identified by TheDenverChannel to protect the children's identities, faces 24 charges that include sexual assault on a child, sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, and aggravated incest. In opening statements, prosecutors said Tuesday that the mother dressed her son as a schoolgirl, put makeup on his face and then watched as his stepfather raped him. Prosecutors also said the boy's mother held down his younger sister while his stepfather raped her. The prosecution said that sexual assaults began when the boy was 5 and when his sister was 7. The boy testified that he was abused for 10 years. The woman's defense lawyer said that she was the victim of battered spouse syndrome and that she has since divorced her husband. Jurors watched a videotaped interview in which the woman admitted to police that she held her husband sexually assault her son and watched as he carried out the assaults. Her lawyer said that she lived in constant fear of her husband, who shot her with a BB gun and hit her with an iron. She said her husband also physically and sexually abused her. The alleged abuse came to light last summer when the woman was beaten with a flashlight and went screaming to a neighbor, who called police. The son then stepped forward to tell police his story, which his mother corroborated in the videotape. The son is now 18 and his younger sister is now 10. She testified Wednesday morning a sister, therapist, and neighbor were scheduled to testify for the prosecution. The boy's stepfather will be sentenced later this month after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) I see your point, but I'd do it if someone really close to me was a Cub fan maybe. Would I do it for a bleacher ticket at Wrigley? Probably not. But I might do it for the Wrigley equivalent of a luxury suite...again if someone close to me was a Cub fan. Not if you saw the suites there you wouldn't. :puke

Yikes.. some Marlin's fans are taking this just a tad bit too far, IMO. http://www.marlinbaseball.com/forums/index...pic=49200&st=25 "Were it me, and I was the parent of this kid I would have sought to file charges against Penny, I would go after him with every resource I have and seek to have him branded a child molester."

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) My point was why would a cub fan do this? Would you do it for a cub game agaisnt say...the Reds on a Tuesday night? This seems like a waste of time for someone that is a cub fan. Sure!! To see KGJ play.. and maybe sway him to come to the Sox. I'm kidding. I get what you're saying now.

http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/NASApp/ml...t=.jsp&c_id=bal Didn't see this anywhere.. The Orioles today announced that they have claimed RHP JAMES BALDWIN off waivers from the Texas Rangers. He is 0-2 with a 3.18 ERA in 20 games for the Orioles and Rangers this season. Baldwin began the season in the Orioles organization with AAA Ottawa. His contract was purchased by the Orioles on May 21 and he posted a 1.61 ERA in 12 relief appearances before being designated for assignment on July 18. Baldwin was claimed off waivers by Texas on July 21 and went 0-2 with a 5.19 ERA in 8 games for the Rangers. He was designated for assignment on August 16. To make room for Baldwin on the 40-man roster, the Orioles have transferred OF ELI MARRERO from the 15-day to the 60-day disabled list. Marrero was originally placed on the disabled list on July 27 with a sprained right thumb. A move to the active roster will be announced at a later time.
