QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) Well it didn't seem that bad to me since I am welcome there LMAO.. Frist time I took Jim there he went in without me cause I was on the phone.. after 45 seconds I realize I sent him in alone .. I walk in and there he was smoking a cigar with a few of the other "customers"

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) SouthSide.. Going by those numbers that should leave us anther 30+mil to spend, yet we get told that our payroll is set there.. this is why I b**** we could have afforded better players then Dye and Hermanson Im not saying spend all 30.mil I be happy if we could have spent 15 more on getting some better kids in here. Where do you get $30+ million to spend?

QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 12:45 PM) not "pole dancing" just drunk dancing... just what ya want to see a drunk idiot dancing... but like I said it worked... although I never called her again.. I wouldn't suggest going back there...

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) As in Aaron Rowand? Are you sure 'bout that? Also, at this point in time I am more concerned with the team winning a game in the playoffs as opposed to one of the guys' chances of getting into the hall. Yep. So am I.. I was addressing her Paul is the "face of the Sox" comment.

QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) yea, i want frank to stay and hit #500 with the sox, but he just isnt worth 10 mil a yr and if its between PK(28) and frank (34-36?) i rather have PK, who is the face of this team now Paul doesn't have a chance at the HOF and his face is quickly forgotten when Frank steps to the plate. Aaron is more popular than Paul.
-
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) Dudet, I agree with you but everyone here wants to keep Frank around, and Pauly.. IMO I wanted to trade Pauly and have them made a run at Delgado.. but that is just me. It doesn't matter what anyone here wants. Jerry wants Frank here. End of story.

Oye ve... tit, tat, tit, tat...

QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) why would yous rather have frank than paulie? thats crazy. frank is in the downside of his career, constantly getting injured. frank is not worth 10 mil a yr. i rather have paulie for 3 more yrs. ozzie and kw really like Pk im sure they rather have him than frank. the sox would love to get rid of frank and his baggage. PK isnt going no where. what would we do if he left? have ross play their? all the quality 1st basemen are either not available until a few yrs, or too expensive. id be mad if we didnt keep him. id say 3 yrs 30 mil or so, maybe 9 mil a yr

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) Speak for yourself! I invest 85% of my daily activities around wondering what this guys think and do. Some of us can't stalk from afar like you...we have to get down and dirty.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) Maybe I'm just too old to care, but I find myself less and less interested in whether or not these guys are on roids. I just watch the games and root root root for the White Sox. It took a long time for me to detach myself and just enjoy the game as entertainment. I want the Sox to win, but it doesn't upset me as much if they don't. It's a lot more relaxing this way. I'm right there with ya. No sense in harping on s*** you can't control..

QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) Bonds only wants to "move on" if we agree to slam the door on the past and allow him his glory for passing the Babe and the Hammer. I think we owe it to those guys to find out exactly what happened before we give Bonds his moment in the sun. So be it. Doesn't effect my day to day..
-
QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 11:00 AM) BONDS.... he wants to move on..?????. why doesn't he admit the truth??? Giambi admitted and apologized.. killing the story... Sosa even apologized about the cork bat and the story was over... then bonds talks about the reporters closets... the public doesn't care about reporters closets.!!!!.. they care about Bonds' closet..!!!! . this POS makes me sick... the ONLY WAY TO MOVE ON... is to admit the TRUTH, and apologize... this is a very forgiving country admit your mistake and move on.. look at bill clinton for crying out loud... he apologized and moved on... and the world still loves Bill... every reporter should have walked out on that scumball bonds. and let him lie to himself.... Why is it so important that you know what Bonds did or didn't do.. ? You say move on.. but here's another 'roid thread..

QUOTE(JimH @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) That encapsulates it pretty well, I agree. I think it's just a matter of time, and finding the right deal. Just a guess on my part but I think they've told Harris to do his best to have a great spring because opportunities could open up for him with some other teams and who knows, if Iguchi gets hurt or something the whole scenario could change. Willie all but came out and told Jim his days were numbered here and he knew it.
-
QUOTE(JimH @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Steff, what's your take on Harris, what do you think management will do? I'll be in Tucson for several days in about two weeks and hope to do some snooping around about all things White Sox. You don't pay someone who you've never seen play if your satisfied with what you've got..
-
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 10:04 AM) That's why they invented the ignore feature. No need to read when you know what the post is about. Touche with that lengthy reply of yours up there..

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) Someone's got to fight the good fight I suppose. I suppose.. but I have to admit, it's pretty effing stupid, IMO, to spend so much time here posting if you do nothing but s*** on the team you are supposed to be a fan of. Hell.. I don't like a lot of things the Sox do.. and I'm pretty sure I've been the most vocal KW "disliker" over the past 3 years (on this board amoug other places) but hell.. if the Sox brought me as much sorrow as it apparently does to some others I sure as hell wouldn't waste my time b****ing about it and find something better to do with my days.
-
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) I always liked them, especially their lead singers voice for some reason. I can't remember where, but we saw them open for a concert we went to.. they were pretty good that I remember.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) Frank Thomas hasn't turned into a Greg Vaughn or a Fred McGriff yet, so he's definitely not going to play for $2 million a season for ANY team in the MLB. Every team would kill to add his .434 OBP that he put up in 2004 in only 74 games and an OPS of around .1000 Why bother talking common sense.. it falls upon deaf ears unless it's a KW slam. :banghead
-
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) As long as Frank comes back for 2mil a year I be happy on keeping both. 2/7 of our payroll is realistic, 20 mill of a 70 mil payroll, I don't see JR raising that, unless we have a huge attendance this year. The only good thing if we do rebuild it should be with a new GM.. something that should have taken place 2 years ago IMO. Payroll is over $70 million today. Frank will not play for $2 million a year, and I don't care what the Trib says, Frank is in no danger of not being on the Sox next year.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:29 AM) Nah he's thinking... "Where are those cool fans who do the MVP chant when I get a hit?" If that's the case, he's thinking.. "I have to make Jim and Mike proud this year"..
-
Do people really make decisions on liking him based on PC's...? JMO, but if nothing else when he speaks it's obvious that he's not the sharpest tool in the shed and I pay no attention.
-
QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) "Hey, Gooch! Why do you think Steff has so much hatred towards me?" LOL.. For the record I don't "hate" him. Maybe he's thinking... "s***.. maybe Steff was right.. maybe they brought this guy in cause I act like an asshole in the clubhouse and towards my teammates and I better change my attitude a bit..."
-
IMO, no way lock him up for 4 or 5 years at this point. Wait until after the AS break.. have his hip checked out with ultrasounds, then maybe sign him.. but for no more than 3 years.
-
QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 08:31 AM) I agree...always very impressive...I just love how he came into that press conference and looked bigger than ever. He was huge. I hope he is still taking them and gets busted by MLB...it would be too much fun....have a nice year Barry :finger Maybe he's bigger because he worked out more.. And I agree also. He would have been in the hall regardless of the HR record.

A week or so ago I was at the White Hen and the woman in front of me forgot her purse at home. So, I paid for her coffee. This morning I ran into her again.. she bought mine.
