Hawk said at Soxfest that Maggs stated he was testing the FA market no matter what. Sounds to me like he made up his mind long ago. And this reporting of him declining is an effort to make him look bad, IMO. If he said he was going to test the market then let him test the market.

I think it's only fair to hear the circumstances surrounding the decline. The deferred $$, the incentive clauses. If in order for him to get the $$ he has to make the AS team, I'd tell the Sox to shove it as well since Maggs is simply not popular enough with the fans to be voted on (and being selected via the manager is always a crap shoot). I wouldn't be surprised to see them trying to slip a DS clause in there (and say.. "well, Frank signed one... "). But in all reality... I wouldn't bother even talking about it. He's not going to stay here. Why would he? He'd be crazy to with the way this team is run.

Bound Woman Dials 911 With Her Toe Tue Jun 1, 7:20 AM ET Strange News - AP WILKINSBURG, Pa. - The manager of a check-cashing store was bound and gagged by an armed robber but managed to free one of her legs and dial 911 — using her toe. The woman, whom police did not identify, was unlocking the doors to an ACE America's Cash Express office in suburban Pittsburgh on Monday morning when a man put a gun in her armpit and forced her into the store, Wilkinsburg police Lt. Todd Ruggiero said. The man ordered her to open the safe and then led her to a back office, where he tied her up with phone cords and other items and gagged her with a scarf, Ruggiero said. About an hour after the robbery, the woman managed to free one leg, somehow grabbed a telephone with her feet and used her toe to dial 911, police said. She was freed after firefighters and paramedics got through a locked security door.

We went to the new outlet mall in Aurora yesterday and the Lids there has a bunch of Sox hats I had never seen before. The St. Patty's day one, and several with the 83 logo. Some nice silver & black ones. And the light blue one with the "White Sox" written in red across it. They had at least 20 different ones.

I don't agree with this at all. Takes the control out of the hands of the manager - not that he had any in this case. You don't let the inmates run the asylum. Jon should be dealt with individualy and not by the rest of the team... who.. hello.. has to continue to deal with Kenny. IMO, it puts them in a bad spot. I'd guess that most of them didn't give a crap that Jon left and only made comments to break in their new tubes of chapstick - no doubt giftwrapped by Kenny himself. No only that.. but I can't imagine anyone is very comfortable at this point. Knowing that the slightest little thing they do wrong will become public knowledge. That stuff should stay in house. And one more thing.. I bet Ozzie was mad as hell when he heard what Kenny did. The second Ozzie steps away there is trouble. And some of us were worried about Ozzies mouth...

Perhaps I should have said take the attention off the BS 5th starter issue which was not addressed in the off season when it should have been. The "automatic loss" every fifth day was the center of conversation all week and the blame for the mess is on Kenny's shoulders.

This is my stance as well. I'm not about to rip into Jon when I've heard he spoke to both Cooper and Hahn to their faces and they were aware he was taking off. Kenny, on the other hand, has a history of running his mouth and BS'ing. I give the kid the advantage here. No way in hell he left that clubhouse without ANYONE knowing. It's simply NOT possible.

No, that was a black lab mix of some sort. The St Bernards weren't even able to sit in the seating area! They had a spot with chairs for their owners on on the concourse behind the last rows of seats. BTW.. Ginger was on the jumbotron and TV yesterday.

Guys.. FWIW, Jon was told before he even tossed a pitch that he was going back to AAA and that he was going right after he was done. He showered and left to meet his family who had driven in from Kentucky to see him pitch, and he was driving back with them. At any given time there are 20+ people in the clubhouse during a game. Jon didn't just sneak out.. he claims he spoke to Hahn and Cooper before leaving, and I'd wager high that Kenny knew he was leaving when he was leaving and spouted his mouth off to take attention away from the outcome of the game.
