Thought maybe you knew Fergie. LOL.. I do. Jim golfs with him every year in Lake Geneva for the MLBPAA charity outing. That's where I met a lot of the older guys. Kenny Sanders, Mudcat, and Randy Huntley call Jim all the time to go golfing. This past year he golfed several times with Paul Molitor and we had dinner with him the week after the AS Game (they were all in Chicago attending the game). I wanted so bad to call him and get the scoop when his name was mentioned as coming to the Sox, but again my "pair" isn't that big

No prob. And before someone asks... I met Mike Kinkade's wife a looong (maybe 1996) time ago at some charity event and kept in touch with them. We used to go watch them play when they were in Indiana when they were in AAA. I met Jenkins and his now wife and we also kept in touch.

You basically said one media report was bulls***, but you went off on KW in the Sox Shopping For Bargains thread about the media saying KW wanted Cito to be a bench coach. Unless I'm reading it wrong, and forgive me if I am, you're choosing to believe one media report (about KW wanting Cito to be bench coach) and saying the other is BS (Frank/Ozzie tiff). My point is, why is one media report believeable and the other isn't? If it's only because one media report validates your opinion and another doesn't, well, that doesn't seem quite right to me. I just want to understand where you're coming from is all. I see lots of statements around here, some dismissing media reports based on personal opinions, and then being very definitive with statements, based on media reports. For my part, I'll take every media report with a grain of salt. The one guy who has been the most accurate and upstanding, in my opinion, is Bruce Levine. And even Bruce admits he's not aware of all the intracacies of what goes on. They are both bs. Frank didn't say anything, and Cito was not going to be Ozzie's bench coach. It's all for drama....

This is the hugest load of BS. What Steff, that Guillen balked at the idea, or that he was ever offered the Bench coach job? That Cito would be Ozzie's bench coach. Just when I think they can't get any more stupid.. they do. I'm going to again stand behind what I was told and believe that Cito priced himself out of this on purpose. The guy wanted more money to spend... they said no. So now they insult him in the media by saying "maybe he's worthy of being a bench coach.." Paaleeeease. KW is getting on my very last nerve.. BINGO guys I know Colon is obviously going to eat up more innings, but for those people who keep saying don't look at Ponson cause he just had his career year, he's going to be 27 at the beginning of next season he's still a very young pitcher, and look at his numbers they keep getting better and better each year, maybe he's learned how to pitch a little bit, cause he's always had the stuff. Listen guys.. I am totally biased because I've know Sidney for a long time. But one thing is that this is the first year that that moron Scott Erickson hasn't been up his ass to go party every night, and Sidney really got into a work out regime and started eating way better. He dropped close to 20 pounds and he's a rock. He's getting mentally into the game more - he's only 27 - and he's maturing. Obviously you all know my opinion. I would love for him to play here, but aside from that I think it's a good fit for the Sox. What the hell.. it's not like things can get any worse.. As long as he doesn't start hanging with Frank in the strip clubs. Frank doesn't do that anymore...

They tried to get him to give up a year of free agency last year. He said no. I don't remember the $$... but I don't think that was the deal breaker. I'm pretty sure it was the FA issue.
